I came here with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised how good these guys were. They said my sample size was too small and sent me back which is the right thing to do because the other store didn't do that. So I came back with larger sample and Trevor made the paint and made me feel better about the whole process that things will only get better from here. When I came back home and applied the paint for the spots on my walls, it was an exact match. What a difference it makes when people do their jobs to the best of their abilities. I get it that the older man in the shop could come across cranky but he's the one who sent me back home to get a larger sample because of which Trevor made me the perfect paint. And of course the main reason why we go buy our paint here is because of ther Harmony Line, it's water-based paint and low-odor with zero VOCs!!! Perfect for kids rooms or nurseries. Even during painting you barely smell any odor....I am using this paint for my entire House now. They were great at painting. Not fabulous with details…read more Left the drain hose from our washing machine out!! We had a FLOOD in the house. My husband did most of the clean up. They did send out a remediation company who tested for moisture and left a very loud commercial grade dehumidifier. They came back almost daily for 4 days. We were left to deal with the noise from the dehumidifier and fans for 24 hrs a day for 4 days!! We asked for compensation for the unbearable noise and mess we had to deal with due to their mistake. After paid almost $9,000.00, we were offered $400 off a future job!!!! Seriously?!?! Even though the actual painting job was fine their attention to details and their unwillingness to compensate us for the major inconvenience they caused is the reason for a bad review! We will not be using them in the future!

Oddly, I can only buy garden items in person at a garden centre but am forbidden to buy them at a Dollarama or big box store while I'm there. Uh okay, fine. With all the craze in the plant community, downtown big box stores are selling out of orchid mix and giant potting soil bags for online pickup. Local garden centres rarely carry stock online and aren't too helpful on the phone either, so you'll have to pay them a visit to pick it up. East End Garden Centre has all you need and more to get your outdoor urban garden started. They have lovely wooden trellises, stones and soil at reasonable prices. I picked up a few bags of veggie soil for only $5.99 for a 30L bag, a better deal than the commonly found Miracle-Gro in big box stores. Potting soil that is usable indoors is $1 more. All the reasons to shop local! If you don't have the room or time to start your seedlings, you can pick them up for $4. I see strawberries, peas, but no tomato plants yet. I came on a Sunday; it was bustling but not packed, so social distancing is possible. I browsed their houseplant section indoors briefly, not too attractive and slightly more expensive than other local shops I frequent. The drawing point continues to be their outdoor gardening and landscaping items, but if you're lucky to spot something nice, you can pick up a houseplant baby as well.
