Mr. Lee was nowhere to be seen. I'm guessing he moved away decades ago. The people working there now looked like would easily work at a Taqueria. The soup appeared almost immediately, clearly prepped and waiting for its moment. I asked for crispy noodles. "No, that's all you get." Now, the soup. This was not a delicate, silky egg flower broth. This was Campbell's Hearty Chicken Noodle... minus the noodles. Bamboo shoots. Water chestnuts. Peas. Big chunks of chicken. And celery -- which feels like a bold editorial choice in egg drop soup.
