The food is always good every time we go. The service is always great. The owner is always there working. He's super friendly and just seems like a really good guy. My wife and I eat there at least 2-3 times a month and we have never had a single issue with service or food. It's always prepared how we asked and always hot. Great place all around! We will return when we're back this way. The service was fast, pleasant, professional and personal. I had shredded chicken salad and it was filled with plenty of chicken, guac, sour cream & queso. His burrito dish had good Mexican flavored meat and plenty of sides. Served nice and hot. This was my first stop at Maria's and maybe my last unfortunately. Let's start off with the Seafood Chili Relleno. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. It was a type of bland that had me sitting there asking myself "why am I bothering?" The Seafood Salad was one of the weirdest things I had seen yet, but honestly wasn't bad. I'd say give it a try. The queso was mediocre. Chips and salsa though, were fresh and I'd say worth it. The drink lines were dirty somewhere and therefore left a fowl aftertaste when it came to their drinks. I had fajitas and the beans were terrible (texture was more like Alpo, but Alpo probably would have been better). No one at our table enjoyed their meal and we left very disappointed. The only thing good was the service... Daughter had a little plastic in her burrito .... It had more flavor than the meat. We've found the best Tex-Mex in our area. If you live in Texarkana then you have to drive down to New Boston and try Maria's. You won't go anywhere else again after having a meal here. You can tell a lot about a place by their salsa. It's thick, it stays on the freshly made hot chip. It's filled with flavors and not spicy hot. You want hot? Just ask. The queso is awesome and the staff is super friendly and helpful. They made us feel like family. They kept bringing us different sauces to try since this was our first visit. I had the chino platter which is a beef and chicken enchilada and a beef taco with rice and beans. Fabulous is all I can say. The dinner special was 2 beef enchiladas rice and beans for $5.99. Very nice family ran business. Food and service are always on point. I highly recommend the Parillada, which I doubt I spelled correctly. I didn't get a picture, but it's fajitas with steak, chicken, shrimp, and smoked sausage. The decor inside is very nice as well and they keep it nice and cool for those hot summer days. I'm from SoCal so I'm kind of a Mexican food snob but this place is great. They fry their own chips and taco shells and they are awesome. The chicken taco meat was juicy and well-seasoned. Enchiladas were super tasty. The rice was great and the beans looked and tasted like beans instead of bean-flavored lard like at some restaurants. It should've been a complementary thing with my salad I substituted but it didn't come out as a substitute . My brother got enchiladas, beef, chicken and spinach, they are lacking in taste Those are the most basic stuff chicken taco salads and the enchiladas none of them have taste flavor or spice it is like the food at a hospital and old folks home that they give you I do hope they do some thing to make it better read more

My second time here at this restaurant. The last time December 28th for my birthday. I was expecting inconsistency with my meal. The last proprietor there at this location. Could not cook the same thing twice. Was constantly disappointed. Maria's on the other hand. Is fantastic my beef chimichanga was not overpowered with spices. I could actually taste the beef flavor. So tender would melt in your mouth. I love the queso sauce as you can see portions are very large. Prices are great! Very clean including the bathroom. And the dining room floors. As I pay attention to details. The service was impeccable. Even as busy as our waiter was we felt like we were never ignored and he was there for a beckon call.
