A few years back they have more silver jewelry, now are mostly gold and Platinum, which means they are more costly now . The stones and pearls they use are top quality. Designs are beautiful and some are their own name brand designs . Love to look at all the earrings and necklaces, even it may be window shopping's . Repair ticket number is 190729, dated 10/10/2021. A day after my previous review, another lady from the store called me and informed me my beautiful ring is ready for pick up. I stopped by the mall and picked up my ring yesterday when they're in the process of closing for the day. The mall closes at 8pm but the store closes at 6pm... I didn't know that but was glad they were able to let me pick it up yesterday. They tried to explain to me normally repairs can take weeks/months... I thought that was unbelievable but didn't want to argue because it was a long day for me yesterday. Honestly, if I was told upfront that repair will take weeks/months, I would never ask them to do the repair. Especially when my ring was not sent back to headquarter for authentic repair by Na Hoku.... So it was pointless to argue. They had me sign the paper that I was satisfied with the repair work before I can take the ring, so I signed. I will find a good camera and take a nice zoom-in photo of the repaired ring for this review.... Corporate asked me to reach out and provide details on my purchase... hehe... they should just look into this repair ticket and find the info. If I could give zero stars I would! Let me start off by saying Na Hoku was one of my favorite jewelry stores up until today. I have received gifts from friends and family from Na Hoku for YEARS and myself have spent a lot of money with this company. Long story short I wanted to buy a necklace I liked, as I was browsing the sales associate told me that "I needed to choose wisely because whatever I decided to purchase was going to be final sale"....stunned I responded why is it going to be final sale? She just responded "oh my manager told me" then I asked her repeatedly why...finally she told me "it's because you've exchanged and returned things too many times and this is what my manager said" I was in shock! After all of the money my family, friends and I have put in this store this is the treatment I get?!! NO ONE should ever be treated this way! I've worked in customer service for over ten years and would never fathom talking to any customer in that manner. The sales lady was very helpful in picking out a present. She showed me some unique jewelry that was a mixture of yellow gold and silver with a very Hawaiian feel to it. The ambiance was pretty good. They made the store to feel like you were in Hawaii. The store even smelled like a beach! The jewelry here was very reasonably priced. However, there is one caveat. They do not sell settings, so if you like a design for a ring you cannot just bring in your own diamond. read more

Kinda surprised that they put in a Na Hoku in the Stoneridge Mall. I guess the mall was looking for diversity or something. Whatever the reason I was pretty stoked when this place opened (it's been a few years, I know). My mom was immediately drawn to this place - like a moth to a light bulb or a fly to dead rotting things... whichever image you'd rather conjure up - she's a jewelry-aholic. Lucky for me she decided to buy me one of the personalized 14k gold rings for Xmas one year. I picked out the script font (it reads "Mei Lai", my Chinese name that my por-por gave me) and also the design of the floral pattern (you get to choose from several plain designs as well as the Hawaiian plumeria and hibiscus types of designs) around the perimeters of the band. My mom surprised me and got them to make an inscription on the inside of the band too. Nice touch. When we placed the order and had it sized and everything the woman quoted the delivery time as being a couple of weeks but I was very pleasantly surprised when the package came in the mail not much more than a week later. The store doesn't look like anything out of the ordinary, just your regular mall jewelry store, but it really has some beautiful things inside. My wife and I upgraded our wedding rings the first week in May. They had my wife's ring in stock, but my ring had to be special ordered. This is where this place a major problem with customer service. They said my ring would take 8 to 10 weeks which I agreed. We vacationed in Maui, bought some more jewelry from the store on Front St. I told them I had to wait 8-10 weeks, they were shocked it would take that long. I called for an update around the end of June. I asked if they could track my order. The sales associate could not answer, but she would the next day. Of course I did not gets phone call, so I had to call back 2 days later. Their answer was it was only 8 weeks and should be in around July 8. I called again July 9th, no ring yet, getting very frustrated. We buy a lot from this company to be treated this bad. They tell me now it will not be in around July 25. I know you can track shipments, I really think they do not care about their customer orders. Again I had to call on July 25, still no ring, beyond pissed off now. They still do not know when ring will arrive. My wife finally got a call saying the ring was done but will not arrive Aug. 8. They said the factory is closed for Summer holiday? WTF is a summer holiday where you cannot ship orders. WTF kind of business do you people run!! I told my wife I will not talk to these idiots anymore. To my surprise, they called my wife on Aug. 6 my ring was in. They are lucky she got the call and she picked it up. The ring is very nice, I guess worth the wait. Of course they did not apologize for the delay. What kind of CUSTOMER service do you teach your employees. We will no longer buy from this location. Norma is very sweet and accommodating! I had to come in to send back my ring (which a small diamond fell out from the halo)... But it had to be sent allllll the way back to Hawaii where it was originally bought. Norma made the warranty process a breeze and she's a natural! So sweet. Unfortunately, it will take my ring about 4-6 weeks until I get my promise ring back... But she reassured me with the whole process and it put my mind and heart at ease. In July of 2020 I was presented a ring that was tanzanite, opal and diamonds for engagement. I was super excited but with in 4 months 4 stones came out and the opals were like slivers of aluminum foil with a build up underneath to make them look substantial. I sent it back and after 2 months I still don't have a repair or even and estimate and was told it showed of wear. I had it for 4 months and took off all the time. With a ring costing over $6,200 it is a huge disappointment not mention poor quality and even worse customer service. This ring is junk!!! read more

I tried to return a purchase my husband made for me two days later. Jewelry was still in the box, I had the entire receipt. They refused to refund it because his card wasn't here. I pulled up my credit card app and showed her the charge my husband made on our card and that it was the same account even though my card number was slightly different. My husband sent a photo of his card, front & back, at their request. But still it wasn't enough. Now they want to keep the jewelry and corporate will process the refund. Hmmm I'm supposed to trust them but they won't trust me. Well I won't be shopping here again. Thanks for the cookie cutter reply from corporate. No I won't call you. I drove 45 minutes to the store and you think someone in Hawaii can help? You want to fix this? Refund my credit card or I will file a complaint with the BBB and my credit card. Update: it's been a week and still I have not had my credit card refunded. I went back into the store with my husband and his card and they said corporate had already refunded it the next morning. I've been to this location twice and both times have had to deal with snotty sales associates. Completely uninviting and unhelpful. Their return/exchange policy is the absolute worst in the industry especially when people are paying upwards of $500 on a single piece...nothing can be fixed on site so you have to risk your piece being shipped off to the Honolulu store. Once that's done, you never receive a call back from the Pleasanton store that it's back so you keep calling just to be greeted on the phone by annoyed employees who don't want to be bothered to look up the status of your item. DO NOT shop here unless you are willing to accept crappy customer service with the bonus of a crappy return/exchange policy. I wish i could give zero stars for this. I had purchased a ring one week back from Hawaii and i went to return the same in the Stoneridge Mall outlet. The sales person looked at the ring and said that there are tiny scratches (which any customer would not see even if you have a magnifying glass carried with you) and we cannot take back the ring. I was shocked as I haven't worn the ring even one day ..its just the trial and then when I am showing it to my husband. I tried to explain them couple of times but they did not take back the ring. Second time purchasing with Na Hoku, first time visiting this store. I've been trying to debate a perfect gift for my girlfriend this xmas. (FYI, she loves plumerias, and her birthstone is a diamond) so yes, Na Hoku was the perfect place to go for any Hawaiian themed jewelry. This store is easily found within the stoneridge mall and is wonderfully themed. Their customer services was excellent. I got to work with Norma, who was a down to earth employee. She gave great advice about different necklaces etc, and low and behold we found the perfect necklace that I'm sure my girlfriend will love. Thanks Norma and Na Hoku! Realize it's 9:45 PM Tuesday May 7 and I'm still in the store while typing this....it's also my wife and I's 25th silver anniversary. I purchased what I thought was a matching silver Plumeria bracelet and earrings....when I got home later and my wife opened the gift the bracelet was not there instead a rose gold necklace was in the bracelet box. Too bad your 25th only comes once. I get back to the store at 8:35 to replace the necklace...same sales attendant, (Petra San) she attempts to give me the necklace and the bracelet......no says I, I want the matching silver bracelet and earrings.....she packs that up, does the refund incorrectly, I have to go back....again.....they can't figure it out. They suggest I leave the jewelry, credit card and my name and number and sort it out tomorrow, I say just forget it, refund everything, ....it's now 9:45, I insist they call the Manager Jessica....my mistake. The manage tells the staff to keep the product (note there are about $750 in current charges on my card), keep my card and have security escort me out. I insist they call the police, they refuse. Finally by 10:15, it appears I have my refund, receipts etc and leave the mall. It's unfortunate, I love this Chains jewelry line....all on anniversary night. I'll be calling the manager tomorrow, will see what she says. The Manager did respond to me the next day, I believe her name was Jessica. After explaining the full issue to her, which it appears her staff did not do, she apologized for the mishap. She offered to ship the items to me directly. An interesting approach considering they could not provide me with the correctly purchased items while I was in the store....giving her my CC number over the phone (remember this is the same store that "seized" my CC) seemed a somewhat dubious outcome for me. If the staff is lacking in their service approach you can probably make a determination where this is coming from now. read more

Last summer, I found the most beautiful ring at this store. Diamonds and opals. It was very expensive for me, in the $2000. range, so I put it on lay away. I even visited the ring when I made a payment. When I finally made the final payment Dec 31, 2015, i could hardly wait to put it on. I wore it every day. April 3rd, I looked down to admire my ring and most of opals on one side had come off. BLACK UNDERNEATH. I took it back to the store. They told me it would most probably cost me to get it fixed. Yes it would cost me $ for their shody workmanship, $300. to replace the opals and of course, they would not match the original opals. I bitterly complained. They reduced it to $250, but if it fell apart that easy the first time, then why keep paying them to fix what should have been done right in the first place. I'm wearing my once beautiful ring now, half black where the beautiful opals used to be and half with the beautiful opals still intact. It does look rather strange and shoddy, but I'm happy to tell people when they ask about what happened to the strange looking ring, I wore this expensive ring for only 3 month and where the black part is, is where there used to be beautiful opals that matched the other side, that fell off 3 months after wearing it and I got it at Na Hoku. Been going here since we seen the one in Oahu, which is about 6 years now, everytime I've been here I feel like they are so pushy on selling the most expensive thing to me. The last time I went was 06/15/2011 and it was to buy my neice a cross for her baptism. The manager there was straight up RUDE!! Upon arriving to Na Hoku in Pleasanton was not an experience I have traditionally gone through in other Na Hoku stores. The woman (heavyset and blonde hair) who took my jewelry was not personable nor was she interested in having a conversation with me. All she did was said nay or aye in the jewelry I brought. I had a ring I needed resizing and it was very uncomfortable in interacting with this salesperson. I've had a much better experience at the Pearl Factory in San Francisco so I recommend going there instead! read more

What a disappointment! Love Hawaiian jewelry but would definitely go somewhere where they back up their product. Purchased a pair of earring in Kauai. Told the sales associate that backing were delicate and that I have not had luck with such backings. She said not to worry, they would repair them if there was a problem. One backing completely broke off and other bent so badly. I took the to the Pleasanton Mall and they didn't really seem to care what the other associate told me or thought to maybe give her a call to verify. Just said will send to Honolulu to evaluate and decide how they were going to handle it. I get a call and told $35.00 to repair them. Guess I did not really have a choice if I wanted to wear them again. Went to pick up and pay and sale associate tried to show my husband a piece for me. REALLY? I will NEVER purchase anything at this store again. I then sent an email to website that stated they would sent a reply within 24 hours. NOT...nothing, nada, goose-egg. I will purchase from the local stores in Kauai when we go back. They are always honest. Live and learn...... To Reply to NaHoku...this post was BEFORE they replied to my email and not replied in 24 hrs like their website states. I have always received more that the usual expected service when looking over or purchasing merchandise from such a type of business. In fact, the counter persons and manager have always gone out of their way to make me and/or my wife very welcome. I've never felt any hint of discrimination even though I'm of diverse race than the people that work here. I was a regular Na Hoku customer over the past ten years. I loved their jewelry and I bought gifts for my sisters, mom and niece. Then I rec'd, as a gift, an enamel plumaria ring. The enamel came off after about 5 months. They offered to fix it, and two months later I got the ring back but it was two sizes too small. They refused to believe that my ring was larger than the one that was "repaired" until they realized their inventory numbers for size 6 and size 8 were identical. Two months later the new ring's enamel came off. They offered to let me exchange the ring for something different. I offered to add money to the cost and I chose another ring but now they are refusing the exchange. I don't want a new plumeria enamel ring because I know it will chip again. The store is about 40 miles away from my house so it's very inconvenient to keep driving there to exchange the defective ring. I find their customer service very insensitive and unfair. Their product is defective but they are refusing to be accountable. UPDATE: This morning I sent this same complaint to the customer service headquarters in Honolulu and promptly rec'd an email back that they would "look into it." This afternoon I rec'd a call from the manager of the Na Hoku store in Pleasanton and she told me that they will honor their suggestion to exchange the ring for a new product. We finalized the transaction on the phone and I should be receiving my new ring later this week. So, while I had a tough time dealing with them, when I brought it to corporate's attention, the problem was resolved. read more

Haven't even bought anything yet and their customer service has already blown me away. I have been in a couple locations in Hawaii and loved everything I saw, but do not have a Na Hoku in my state and was iffy about buying jewelry online. I called this location inquiring about a pearl set online to see if they had it in stock. The very helpful woman on the phone(I believe her name was Beth) knew exactly what I was talking about, explained what they had in stock, gave me options for the same set in different clasp metals, and asked if I would like them to order it in for me. I let them know I do not live nearby but would be visiting the area in a week and she did everything she could to make sure it could be ordered in time for the date most convenient for me to come in during my vacation. She was very helpful and thorough and I look forward to visiting the location and picking up a beautiful set of pearls for my best friend's birthday. read more

My wife bought me a beautiful watch from this store a couple years ago. The watch has always been great, but the clasp broke after about six months. They promptly fixed it at no cost. Recently, the clasp broke again. Instead of just fixing the issue, the chose to replace the watch with a brand new one. My expectations were more than exceeded. This company designs very nice, meaningful jewelry, but the customer service at this particular location was extremely sub par. My husband purchased his wedding band at this location, and during the purchase was, of course, sized to order the correct ring size. When the ring came in, it did not fit correctly. So he had to have it re-sized. This process happened two more times, each time the incorrect size was ordered and each time he had to go back to the store to try it on, and was also met with a very unfriendly employee who was attempting to charge him for the re-sizing despite it being wrong each time. Finally, we took the band elsewhere to be sized, and the jeweler informed us that the staff at Na Hoku was in fact incorrect and they had ordered a much smaller ring than what my husband had requested. We had the ring resized at the new jeweler and it fits perfectly. The staff at this location needs to be trained how to appropriately size rings and then to correctly order them. The design of the ring has been somewhat compromised because of the amount of times the ring had to be adjusted. We will not be going back to this store, and are advising people stay away. read more

I LOVE THIS STORE!! I bought our wedding bands there and they are gorgeous! The service was polite and NOT pushy at all! I went to Zales the day before and the sales person did nothing but joke and say buy them both just put it on the card. Was so pushy it was just a turn off. I got a necklace with a barrel pendant that I've been eyeing on for a long time. Finally I bought it. One day as I was removing it, I the barrel fell and hit the floor mat and the barrel broke! Beth is awesome! I bought some things from her store when she worked at a different location. At about 6 months old, I had a stone pop out of my gorgeous ring and I was so worried and panicked. I called and talked to Beth who was so kind and assured me it would be OK. I moved out of state so she had me mail her the ring, she called me when she got it, then sent it off to Hawaii for repair, and it came back perfectly fixed and sooner than expected. The best part was they didn't charge me! This is a company which values quality and customer service, and the gorgeous designs and awesome service are the reasons I shop here. Can you please send photos of the damage? When we returned the ring at 60 days the stone was missing but there was no Scratches or Dents. If there was the salesperson should have pointed them out. The ring broke in 60 days that is poor quality!!! read more
