Drinks were delicious, there was an chocolate espresso old fashioned style drink on the dessert menu that was the most incredible drink I have ever had. The bread was clearly baked fresh. It's actually farm to table and it shows. The chef really lets the food shine. It's not a complex menu, and some things look odd (like the egg dip) but OMG they are delicious! I would swim in that egg dip if it was socially acceptable. Great location, great service, incredible food. I would give them 100 stars!

Delicious elotes - check. Chicken poblano street tacos - check. Service was a tad slow at peak hours when dining here but still very good overall. Once it started rolling, the rest just happened. It's a very big, brewery space -- much larger than it looks like from the outside. With giant floor to ceiling space, expect louder than normal conversational volume here. The main floor dining area, the seats look like the kind of discomfort to encourage you to eat fast and leave fast. There's a section kind of behind the bar that looks way more inviting. I found the bar seats to be really comfortable, though. Definitely will make the rotation.

The pricing felt pretty reasonable, although I'm not a fan of having to pay for salsa. And speaking of salsa, the salsa itself was a stand-out. We ordered the trio. I wasn't impressed with the guacamole. It tasted a little bland and definitely needed some oomph. The queso with fresh jalapeños was a winner. It was flavorful, rich, and the perfect texture to cling onto the chips. One thing I really appreciated was that they make their own blue corn tortillas in-house. I think this was my first time trying blue corn tortillas, and I could taste the difference. They had a richer flavor than yellow corn and held up really well with the food. I ordered the mole, which is definitely for two people as they say in the menu...lol it's a lot. I love a mole with complexity, and this one delivered. Smoky, slightly sweet, rich, and layered with different flavors. Just how I like it. The short rib was tender, and the presentation was beautiful. And let's talk about the margarita. It packed a punch and was generous with the tequila, which is exactly how I like my margaritas. A+ The vibe was okay. They rotated between pop and traditional Mexican music, and personally, I think a Mexican restaurant should really lean into the Mexican music to create a more authentic atmosphere. The food and concept already have a strong identity, so I'd love to see the music reinforce that. The manager also came by and introduced himself, which was a nice personal touch. Overall, there's definitely potential here. Since this was during the soft opening, I'm giving them some grace while they work out the kinks. I left full and happy with several of the dishes and the drink. I'd be curious to come back once they're fully settled in and see how things evolve.

The 3 young girls working at the front were a little slow but they did ok. There is no where to sit or a convenient place to wait except outside. The entrance is tight. We got seated and our server made his way over and brought drinks/ chips/ salsa. The salsa was good but the chips were all cold and we prefer warm chips. We ordered 2 cheese dips, these turned out to be not your typical white cheese dip (though we asked before ordering) it was more like a cheese sauce. Not good. When you see 6 teenage boys not eat the cheese dip it should tell you something. We got two street corn which as excellent and we enjoyed. We ordered one double margarita with a non well tequila and it was $40!!! INSANE because this wasn't a special tequila. Anyway the service was ok but nothing special. The kitchen staff should be trained to look at table when delivering food items to collect dirty finished plates. They dropped items and left without a second glance so we had stacks of plates. The food was not great. They are a gluten free kitchen but Mexican can be GF and excellent. We ordered several different tacos, fish, lobster birria. Lobster quesadilla. The fish was a bit fishy. The others were ok. The quesadillas had are chunks of under cooked bell Peppers that fell out while eating. Those should be fully cooked. The meal arrived and was plated nicely but disappointing to eat. Our waiter came by and said you can just pay using the QR code on the table. He would bring some to go boxes which we declined. We asked about dessert since it was a birthday and they only had chocolate cake. They're gluten free so that's what they have. It's difficult to make GF desserts was the gist of the convo. Their supplier doesn't want to drive to Alpharetta we were told. I have a feeling they just don't have their act together. Anyway no one wanted chocolate cake so we scanned the QR code, saw the shocking $40 margarita (which was nothing special ) and said oh well we just won't be back. THEN I get home and see my bill. There was a weird $5.99 charge for some service. The total bill was $325. So I called and asked for a manager. He said that is the fee for using the QR code (2.5%?)and it was disclosed before paying. The only things that jumped out at me while paying was the 20 23 and "highly popular" 25% tip suggestion. This is where they lost us as customers for ever. It felt very sneaky and under handed. I called and was told by the manager I'd get a one time exception and he would credit it. That hasn't happened. There are many great Mexican restaurants in the area. If this one wants to make it, there needs to be some changes. The food quality needs improving, the service tweaking and get rid of the stupid QR code payment unless it is a free convenient service. Adding a 2+% to already high prices is stupidity as a business. We are paying waiters to not do their job. Disappointing birthday dinner for my son and our wallet

We used Founders for a wedding reception and absolutely loved our reception. The location is beautiful, and everything was handled very efficiently. For appearance, location, and execution of the event, I would give them five stars. I didn't really enjoy the planning with them because the staff is a bit unapproachable, definitely impatient, and frankly, just a little too snooty to overlook. I was grateful to have a wedding planner who handled most of the contact with them. I'm a people person, and I can tell you, you won't get the warm fuzzies from this crowd. Food is handled by their catering company, which is technically separate, but Founders provides the beverages- sort of a strange dichotomy- and they don't really have a great selection in terms of wine and beer. They are also slightly higher on those items than most other comparable venues. For planning and customer service I give them two stars. I would like to point out that the servers were excellent and very friendly to our guests, but they were provided through the catering company that did the food. We also enjoyed working with the caterer to plan our menus, but again, she works at the catering company rather than for Founders Hall itself.
