New in town, I didn't know what a quest it would be to find an acceptable place to get my work…read moreshirts cleaned. After several tries elsewhere, I am grateful to have found Durfey's. They are open on the way to work in the morning and still open on my way home. I can pull up to the drive-in window to drop off and/or pick up. (Although I recommend going inside at least once to check out all the cool old nostalgic decorations they have in the front of the place). Unlike some of the other places I tried, my shirts came back from Durfey's clean and professionally pressed (no extra creases where creases shouldn't be, no tags with metal staples in them). $2.00 per shirt beat the prices at both Chungs and Jordan Cleaners. But it was the customer service that sealed the deal. I was greeted by "Ruthie" (She seems like she's not afraid of hard work, a straight-shooter, and just real good folk). :-) Ruthie takes my shirts with a smile and says she can have them ready in 3 days. She must have seen the disappointment on my face; before I could say anything, she asked, "How soon do you need them?" I asked how soon could she have them ready. She says, "We try our best the meet the needs of our customers" (Good answer!!). I needed them the same day. They did it -- and no extra charge for the rush order! Now obviously, they can't make every order a rush order, so don't everybody go in and ask for same day service!! But she was right: they worked to meet my needs. For that, I was very appreciative. I went back about a week later and received similar treatment (I didn't ask for same day this time!). One tip: The traffic engineers that designed the area by Durfeys (5400 S and 4000 W) must have been drunk. They ONLY way that you can get to Durfeys is from the south. If you come from the north, you have to drive by it about 200 feet and then do a U-turn. (It'll be on your right). To get to the drive-in, drive along the right side of the building and go around the back of the building; then the drive-in window is on the left side of the building. It's not exactly a "scenic view", and the first time, you may wonder if this is where you want to leave your clothes. But you'll feel better once you get a chance to meet Ruthie. And, if you are like me, you will know that this really is one of the best Cleaners in the area when you get your clothes back!

There's hardly anything better than a crisp shirt, and there's never a crisper one than the first time back from FC. When I say crisp, it's all relative. I'm not a starch fan, so they're soft but impeccably pressed. Prices are pretty darn cheap still, but remember than suit coats are pricey no matter where you go. They charge $10 here, so if you can find it cheaper you may be on to a little something. Still, I dropped off two suits (jacket + pants) and a shirt and was out for $32. Four days later and I'm dapper as can be.

They even remembered my first name a week after dropping of my first items, which was a nice surprise and very impressive. They have taken extremely good care of all of the items that I have dropped off to be cleaned (and none of them have been cheap items either, all blouses and dresses that are valued at $150 or more each). Everything has been cleaned well and returned in excellent condition; also- they do their cleaning in house which is always a plus to me knowing that my items arent being shuttled around town. I dropped one white blouse off that got a rust stain on it, fully expecting them not to be able to remove it, but I wanted to try to see if the blouse could be saved before I tossed it. They couldnt get the stain out entirely and kept apologizing for it and told me they tried several means in which to remove the stain but just couldnt and they were so sorry. I told them it was really no big deal, but I was so impressed that they tried so hard to remove the stain. Overall, a great dry cleaners and definitely worth the drive to their location (Im currently in the South Jordan area).
