I love that the building is as dilapidated as it was when I was a kid! It no longer sells general fabrics and sewing supplies and now only sells home decor fabric, but boy do they have a lot of it and at great prices! Of course, you can buy all sorts of high price fabrics, too but for me, finding velveteen sofa fabric at $18.99 a yard was a big score for my reupholstering project. They have plenty of bolts in stock and plenty of fabrics you can order. Don't miss the 3rd floor clearance rack. If you've got the time, you can sift through and find lots of great deals!

I shopped around in Portsmouth and Exeter for custom window curtains and J Renee was definitely the least expensive. I was very impressed with the amount of time and patience they has as I really wasn't sure what I wanted. Their store has 100's of samples to choose from. They also have all kinds of unique furniture and knick knacks that you never see in a retail store. I fell in love with some stools and googled them to do some research. They sell the stools for less than half of what they would cost elsewhere. In the end, I was beyond satisfied with the custom job they did for me and I feel that if there was ever an issue they'd stand by their work.

Well they had NO Welcome Home banner. I was sooo surprised about this. I ended up finding a "Celebration" banner that was really nice & made of fabric so its reusable. I did buy some balloons @ the Dollar Store as I do find them very $$$ here knowing I can get them somewhere else. I also picked up some cute candy decorations for cupcakes that were Mickey Mouse on one sheet & the other sheet had Elmo & Cookie Monster. They have a big selection of themed party decorations, plates & utensils. They have a lot of theme stuff such as Cinco De Mayo, Football, Halloween, etc. If your in need of party supplies & you can't find what your looking for head on over to Party City. There's a huge carpet in the middle of the room (at least with the current setup) but I can see how artificial walls could easily be brought in to make even more wall space. Having said that, it would also be a great space for sculptures. The woman working at the desk seemed very friendly, though I did not take the opportunity to chat with her much. I do feel like it's a bit of shame it's in the middle of a strip mall next to Shaw's, but we can't all land primo real estate I guess. Having said that, it's a perfect opportunity to drop by once every couple weeks before/after your grocery shopping. I believe I will do this in the future!

They are welcoming, not intimidating, and the Falmouth gallery has plenty of parking. The line up is always different at the Portland gallery than the Falmouth gallery. Their framing services are top notch, but it's the art I go for. I make a point of visiting the galleries regularly. The shows change about once a month and even when I don't want to take any piece home, I do find the work intriguing.
