If you're in Milan on vacation and are staying near the Duomo, I highly recommend checking out…read moreRisoelatte - it is such a FUN & UNIQUE restaurant, and the food was so good! We had heard the restaurant was a "must-see" from some friends of ours who recommended the restaurant during our stay in Milan so we couldn't wait to check it out. When we walked into the restaurant, we were immediately amazed by the unique atmosphere of the restaurant, you really feel like you stepped back in time to the 1960's. The entire restaurant was so unique, fun, and colorful. From the retro mint blue colored walls to the old school diner tables with red leather cushioned chairs, to the dining room set inside a recreation of a retro 1960's kitchen, to the clothes lines hanging from the ceiling with granny panties and vintage clothes hanging off them - you can't help but be amazed by all the details incorporated in the décor of the restaurant. Our table was small booth table under an open window with red checkered window covers on it, in a corner of the restaurant, and the cool breeze coming in from the window was really refreshing. For our date night, this place was a cute place to go to. Besides the fun retro atmosphere, the food was delicious, and the service was fantastic. Once of our favorite dishes you absolutely MUST TRY is the Risotto Con Ossobuco - it was one of the best dishes we had in all of Milan. Another favorite dish of ours was the pesto sauce pasta, we really enjoyed it. It was full of flavor and the pasta was fresh and homemade. It was delicious as well! The service at Risoelatte was excellent, everyone took excellent care of us during our entire meal. From the moment we arrived everyone was so welcoming, and the server took her time to explain the menu, make recommendations, and made great suggestions for menu items we should try. We were never rushed or hurried which was nice, we were able to take our time to enjoy the food, and the company of one another, and enjoyed a great date night. Overall, we had a great time dining at Risoelatte, the food was delicious, and we absolute loved the fun atmosphere of the restaurant. If you're looking for a unique dining experience with great food, I highly recommend making a reservation and checking out this hidden gem in Milan. We look forward to returning to Risoelatte on our next trip to Milan.

Heard great things online, recommend by chatGPT and booked a reservation…read more Small place, friendly service, but time limit on the table, so if the service is a bit slow, you might be mid dessert and you're being asked to leave when the next party has arrived. Not a big deal, they let you know there is a time limit, but maybe they should keep the service flowing so that doesn't happen. The interior decorator here did a great job with the time warp back to the mid 20th century. Cool vibe. Food was ok. Perhaps using old recipes from the time period is not so good for a tourist? I wasn't really impressed with the food, but I don't have a cultural link to Milanese food to begin with, so I don't think I was fully able to appreciate it. If my grandmother made this when i was a kid, perhaps it would have been better, but the meal was lost on me. There are plenty of spots to grab a good meal, I'd only recommend this place if you have a fond memory of the menu items or you really want to time travel and post to social media.

I stopped at this place based upon friends who live in Milan, which I feel gives some credence to…read moreit being near the Duomo. Mostly good stuff to say, so let's get the negatives out of the way. Okay, so I know coperto is normal, but I still don't like it. Also, I felt like the servers really hovered near patrons, which was kind of annoying. They also don't list glasses of wine on the menu, but you can get them (at a cost TBD?). Also, I did not love the comment between servers that what I ordered is what "the Americans always get." That may be, but it felt like an insult. Not cool, bro. I can take my happy tourist euros elsewhere with a kinder attitude. Now the good. I loved the outdoor patio. Again, not unique to this place but I enjoyed that it was a little hidden from the hustle and bustle of the Piazza del Duomo. They seemed to have heating lamps or something, as I wasn't chilled on this otherwise cool night. I thought the Prosecco on the house served when first seated was a lovely touch (and decent Prosecco at that). I ordered the tagliatelle Alfredo, which may have been the best Alfredo I've ever had. Yes, I'm American. (I promise I've had other dishes while in Italy this time around! At least I didn't order a burger and spaghetti like my lunchtime table neighbors!). The servers were certainly attentive. Soooo all in all, I give them a good review based on their food alone. The snide comments could be left at the door (or in the piazza, if you will).

So i have been back recently as again it was the holidays and most other places were closed and it…read morewas late at night. What a disappointment.... (We were seated across the street at their sister restaurant, same kitchen used last time except i was seated at Da Regina) The pizza sauce looked like tomato juice it was so runny that the crust became wet and gross... unfortunately i will not be back, my friend was also disappointed by her meal and service.
