I had an opportunity to shop here on Samhain ... and I found everything I was looking for. The clerk was extremely helpful and friendly and assisted me with finding what I needed. They are located a block from the Carlsbad Village Station - a transit hub of rail and bus routes meeting - easy to get here - easy on the environment also! They have readers available every day - Great values on, and a great selection of, minerals and stones. (See the photos of some of their lovely offerings!) My friend had two readings at the same time, one after the other: with two different readers - as I shopped - and was very impressed by both of them! Excellent Value. I had a free reading on my birthday: and that reader was gifted and extremely accurate - she told me things that nobody but Goddess and The Angels (And I) knew about ... and I'll vouch that it wasn't possible for her to 'be a phony' with the secrets that she told me! This place is great! I wanted to buy some crystals for my co-workers to take back to San Francisco from my trip to Carlsbad and I came here and selected some great symbolic gems. I've been a fan of this place since I first started to drive (and that was a loooong time ago, ya'll so kudos for them for keeping the magic alive). The staff is friendly and they have a great selection of crystals, stones, and candles as well as books. Prices are quite good (I'm from San Francisco and our crystal shops are definitely more expensive). Personally they have a bit too many gifty items (angel statues, decor/wall hangings) for my taste, but clearly they know what sells or they wouldn't be in business as long as they have! I bought a few larger crystals and when the salesperson noticed I was trying to remember all their names, she wrapped them in paper and clearly labelled each one for me. They still offer readings. Didn't get one on my last visit in 2021 but had a great experience last time I went. read more

We've been here several times now and it's always been a good experience. We are never rushed and the staff are very helpful whenever we have questions or are looking for something specific. They have a great crystal/stone collection and prices are reasonable (they don't gouge). In fact, most of the items are far better priced than other stores I've been to. I was surprised to see the low reviews on here and feel obligated to say something positive. It's a good shop, small but I would not say "cramped" as others have said. I don't feel like it's a bad thing that it's small inside. I remember going to an Earth's Elements in Big Bear (yes, it's a chain Crystal store) and it felt too big honestly. Similar thing with the Earth's Elements down the street from here. This place may be small but the selection is solid and it's a legit small business unlike Earth's Elements. I cannot speak for the quality of the readings but I know they offer a free reading on your birthday which I have never seen offered anywhere else. The selection is mostly crystals and dragon stuff. Some of the largest and most beautiful looking crystals I've seen if you are a big spender. Overall absolutely worth checking out if you visit Carlsbad Village and it's hidden enough to not get busy ever in my experiences. read more

Very cute cozy shop with a relaxing vibe. The store isn't the largest spiritual shop, but it is packed with beautiful and unique jewelry items, candles, incense and other spiritual gems. I saw signage that they'll be offering classes in the near future, but nothing was available just yet. There's a section in the back for readings with a fabric curtain for privacy. Someone was having a reading while we were in the shop but I didn't hear anything so it seems discreet. They have about seven spiritual readers, and I found more detailed information about their specific fields on their website ranging from chakra readings, mediums, psychic readings, and healers. Our visit was focused on their large selection of stones. We put together cute little charms for ourselves. They provided little sheets of paper to explain each stone meaning and application that we got to take with us, which made the process special. There were several staff available around the store for any questions but nobody hovered over us as we explored which was really nice. I could see parking being a little difficult during peak hours. I came in yesterday and decided to get a reading. I had a reading with Beverly about 6 months ago and had a great experience but she wasn't in. However my reading yesterday was with Sharon I believe? Nice Lady in her 80's but didn't tell me anything and just asked me questions the whole time and made small talk. She even mentioned she wasn't getting the vaccine and talked about herself a lot. I felt like I was just having a convo with my grandma. I literally walked away from $50 and 30 min with nothing but a business will be good for you and you'll meet a new man through work sometime this year. Meanwhile im a hair dresser working in a private suite and only do women's hair. Ive had plenty of readings over the years and never have I felt more bamboozled in my life. Won't be coming back here. This is a very small metaphysical shop. Some crystals, candles, tarot decks, jewelry, dragon and fairy statues for sale, and trinkets. Nothing wrong with that, but it just wasn't my style metaphysical decor. The off-putting thing was the reading going on behind the curtains. There was no privacy for the querent, you can hear every single word they are saying while shopping. And to be completely honest, it sounded and felt like the reader was inexperienced and grasping at straws during the reading, very superficial and nothing solid going on there. I guess that's what you get for a $15 reading, and I guess the client knew that they would have no privacy before closing the curtain, but it made the shopping experience cringeworthy to hear the reader struggling so much, and very uncomfortable for me as the shopper to be in a position where I could hear the reading in the first place. I tried to ignore it and just focus on shopping, but it's impossible to ignore when it is literally a thin piece of fabric that's supposed to separate the space of the store from the reading space. I left, and will not be back. The other time I visited this store was several months ago, and I forgot until I was inside and heard the reading that I had experienced the same thing the first time around. I made a mental note to pass this shop by from now on. I do not recommend getting a reading here, and I do not recommend shopping here. read more

Updating my review to say I had my very first reading (ever) I took advantage of the 15 for 15 and thought why the heck not. I had a clairvoyant that saw spirits around me. I won't go into too much detail but he was exactly on with details, but the broad areas were more common sense. It intrigued me enough to want to go back and try again sometime. This place needs to close. The energy is off and has been off. I went there a couple of weeks ago during the week and the person at the front register didn't smile nor was she personable. I am not sure if she wanted to be there. It would be nice to feel high vibrations in a esoteric store such as this. Instead, what I was greeted with was coworkers gossiping about other coworkers. That's why the vibration is off, going to work and gossiping over wands? Also the prices aren't listed on some of the items. When asked why, I was told because customers may not agree with the price? This review is based solely on the psychic readings here. After searching other yelp reviews I knew who to avoid getting a reading from. I had readings with 2 readers this past weekend. The first was Shani. She gives astrology readings. Based on your time and date of birth, she'll look at her computer and a book, then read off things about what your life should look like. Questions were asked and it felt like she was giving advice rather than predictions eg. You should be with a man who is stable, etc. The second reading was with Allison. She calls your spirit guide and then tells you what she sees. My friend had a reading before me & I think she told us the same thing - you need to heal. She then asks what questions she can answer? The session was basically telling me to read up on this or do that, so situations can be improved. Again, there was no insight shown regarding my current situation and she asked too many questions about my job, my love life, and health. If you're connected to my spirit guide, why am I being asked 3 times the amount of questions back after I give you my areas of concern in my life? Overall I felt that the money spent was a waste. They do have a refund policy if you cut the reading short within 5 minutes but I don't think that's enough time to establish if they have any ability or not. I don't mind what style of reading a psychic does, as I have seen many over the years, but these ones are not the real deal. Go talk to them if you simply need a listening ear. read more

This shop is simply fantastic! The front of course is a nifty little shop with a wide variety of crystals and trinkets all unique and fairly priced. I had gotten a small blue bird and "lucky duck" ornament that were quite adorable and $5 each. The worker at the register was friendly and I felt welcome by everyone there. I had also gotten a psychic reading for the first time here. I had done my research on what makes a psychic genuine and the one I had met was real as can be. Her name is Claire and she was simply wonderful. She had said several things about me and events in my life that were true, as well as providing an insight into my life. I have gone to this place for years. They can be a little pricy with some things, but have cool stuff and give free birthday readings. Here's the low-down on the readers I have had had read me, or a friend with me present: Claire: Love her, recommend her. Accurate and warm. Kristina Ming: Very accurate and an interesting person. Recommend. Yolanda: My husband was blown away by her reading. Highly accurate and an amazing energy. Recommend her. Tany: Stay far, far, away. Bad energy, bad experience, bad reading. She was more interested in pushing you to take her classes than she was in giving the reading itself. Do yourself a favor and stay far, far away. These are the readers I've had personal experience with. All others I can't say, one way or another. The good thing is that if you do your birthday reading you can get a feel for who they are and how they read. Definitely recommend checking out the store, even if you don't want a reading. Very cool stuff and it always smells great. ;) UPDATE: (Jan. 2014) I've stopped going here very much. They seem to be getting more and more 'kitchy', and the past few times I've had birthday reading experiences, everyone has been kind of nasty and pushy, trying to get you to take their classes. Update! I originally wrote this back in December 2011, but I didn't make my update official until now. As of this writing, I believe the Psychic Reading rates are now $30 for 15 and $50 for 30. Pretty standard. And a free 10 minute reading for your birthday. What I LOVE about this store is that every once in a while they have merchandise sales! :D Oh, and the energy here is much more loving compared to other new age/metaphysical stores (such as Lady of the Lake in San Diego). It's bright and airy and the workers there are totally laid back. I always end up buying something like an oil, a candle or incense. I never regret driving over here. I've had a couple readings here and it's definitely a hit or miss. That or I'm a difficult read for the psychics they hire here. I'm starting to put less weight on psychic readings these days especially now that I know how they kinda "work" (i.e., not every single aspect a psychic tells you will "come true"...if so, lemme know 'cause I've yet to meet one who's really that accurate). I don't think God/Allah/Spirit/Higher Self/whoever-you-call-upon wants us to rely too heavily on psychics, which is why my readings haven't been that accurate...anyway, I haven't gotten a reading from here in a long time. Actually, there was one reader named Aida who was one of THE most accurate readers I've ever been to...but she no longer works there. That was a few years ago. I didn't tell her ANYTHING about me and at first I thought she was going to give me a bad/cold reading...but then she started pulling these details that I don't know how she got. I was stunned. Everyone one else at Mystical Dragon has been just "okay" for me....I have to be honest...most of the readers I've tried are extremely accurate when reading *me*, but when it comes to their *future* predictions for me, they're totally off, if that makes sense (I've even had one psychic foretell something and the EXACT opposite event occurred, but in a good way because I didn't want her prediction to come true at all!). All of the ones I've tried since Aida were super nice, though, so I don't have any hard feelings. They're probably just not the right readers for me. Although there was one reader named Judy (and I believe she still works there as of this writing) who read me my cards and told me that an old flame would try to communicate with me again, possibly through e-mail...I didn't buy into it as I thought it was a lost cause (and so did everyone else), but he ended up doing so just like she said, in the exact same way and manner. Coincidence? Possibly. Everything else she said to me was kinda vague and unfortunately off like the rest. Hmmm....but yeah, I think my "lesson" for now is just to live my life and take everything with a grain of salt...if it does come true, yay! If not, oh well. LOL. Disappointed. I have been wanting to go to this shop for sometime. It has a lot of great things and I could have stayed a lot longer had the lady with blond hair who works there, did not speak to me about a foot away with no mask on. For the entire time I was there, she and some other customer who was wearing a mask(although not worn correctly and covering her nose). I couldn't even see the aisle closest to the cashier as I was not comfortable staying in that aisle not to mention that she didn't even try to move. I am pretty bummed that the person didn't even attempt to wear her mask. So if u have a compromised immune system as I do, I would not suggest coming to this store. It was kind of surreal. Fuck this place!! If I could give 0 stars, I would. I was actually very excited to shop at this store. I even had a handful of things ready to buy, PLUS MORE! This store just lost a potential regular customer $$. I was in with my family today, and all of a sudden we hear someone violently clapping their hands. And another lady comes out and says, sorry, She's doing a reading. And looks at my family while she says this. It was because my 18 month old made a crying sound for literally 5 seconds and stopped after that. This was very crappy customer service on their part. Very rude and disrespectful!!! If they want to do their fake readings in the same building, then don't do it behind the counters. I really do not recommend this place!! Not to mention, everyone in there had children of all ages.
