Unfortunately, that facility closed without notify their customers (don't waste your time with Mountain Escape Spa). We were able to secure a last minute appointment for four people at Ama Spa. I had never heard of Ama Spa, but we are all so thankful we discovered this spa. They were aware of the terrible start to the day we had experienced and went out of their way to make the day as special as they could. The facility is clean, luxurious and inviting. You are initially greeted by professional employees and then escorted to a lounge where you can enjoy water, tea or champagne. The staff will present you with forms to fill out where you can add on services. You are then shown a room where you can pick a locker, get robes, slippers and place your valuables. I selected the AMA signature facial and added a collagen face masque and a hydrating hand treatment. My aesthetician was Daniela and she was excellent. I found her to be professional and thoughtful. If you are in the Chattanooga area or are in need of some spa time, I highly recommend Ama Spa!

1 Star - An Unforgivable Mess of a Service Experience!…read more We booked a couples massage at Massage Envy on North Shore two to three weeks in advance to celebrate a late Valentine's Day. My wife and I took an entire day off work and even arranged for 45 minutes of travel (one way) 1 1/2 hours in total, to drop our son off for childcare, all to make this appointment at 9 AM. We received two confirmation messages from Massage Envy the evening before, so we were all set. The morning of the appointment, with barely an hour's notice, the manager--Jordan--calls to cancel our appointment. Her excuse? That it was "unsafe to drive" due to snow and "ice on the road." Let me set the record straight: We live on top of Lookout Mountain, drive a rear-wheel drive pickup, and the temperature never even dropped below 36°--hardly freezing conditions, making ice formation IMPOSSIBLE. The roads in Chattanooga and surrounding areas were perfectly clear, and I personally woke up at 5 AM to get ready and drove our son to childcare, ensuring we could make our appointment on time. Instead of taking responsibility, Jordan spewed a weak, laughable excuse about unsafe roads and then had the gall to offer us facials or individual massages at different times as if that could ever make up for the massive inconvenience and wasted day off work. We explained our entire situation--our meticulous planning, the sacrifice of work and time, and the real disappointment of having what we had been looking forward to ruined. Yet, she showed zero empathy. When I asked her to escalate this to her boss and compensate us with two free massages for the utter disruption, she called back and flatly refused, offering a pitiful upgrade for a facial or hot stones instead. I asked for the 60 minute massage to be upgraded to 90 minutes, to which she said she could not do that because of their "system". To add insult to injury, she arrogantly tried to correct me when I pointed out that, per their own website, we would have been charged for canceling the appointment--if we'd canceled ourselves, that is. But because her team "couldn't come in," she tried to rewrite their policy on the spot claiming we would not have been charged. Finally, I requested a full refund of our gift card due to the worst customer service experience I have ever received, and she dismissed us entirely, claiming she could do nothing since we purchased it online. This is not only unacceptable; it's an outright scam of a customer service experience. Massage Envy on North Shore, under the management of Jordan, is a total disaster. Their bull**** excuses, complete lack of accountability, and shockingly poor customer service have ruined what was supposed to be a special day. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place if you value your time, money, or sanity.

Its in a beautiful old-style brick warehouse type of building shared with other tenants. Just look for the Southern Saddlery Company building and you're there! Parking is plentiful and easy. Once you spot the directory in the front, walk straight up the stairs and you're there! It's a small studio but its cozy and quaint. Just the way I like it. My massage therapist was Mary Burn. She was welcoming and sweet. Before I scheduled my appointment I had to answer an online questionnaire about myself and what I would like my therapist to focus on. I was a bit hesitant as I've filled out these questionnaires in the past but the results were far from what I had asked. This time was different. I was pleasantly surprised. Someone had actually listened to what I had requested. The pressure was spot on and I was in pure bliss! I felt so much better afterwards and completely rejuvenated. It's $75 for an hour massage which is comparable to others in the Chattanooga area. Now go get that massage and treat yourself! Don't forget you deserve to!

The beginning of my massage I wasn't sure how I was going to like this place. I expected $60 for a…read moremassage and for deep tissue (I guess they call it Thai massage) I was told that it would now be $70. They also asked if I wanted to purchase some coconut oil or some special oil and that would be $10 more. I was to pay ahead of time. Seems odd to pay for a service that I didn't get yet. I was escorted to a clean room with no instructions. There was a printed sign on the wall that people who acted inappropriate could be discharged at any moment. I like that. I laid face down and a woman worked on me named "Judy". She did not speak very good English. She did not ask if there were trouble spots that she should work on. But from that moment on, I was very satisfied. She worked very hard, was very thorough, using all of her strength to deliver an excellent massage. At one moment, she disappeared from the room and I wondered if I was done. Three minutes later she came back with hot stones and finished up my massage. When I left, I wanted to tip her. They let me use my former credit card slip to leave a tip on. I will certainly be coming back. She did an amazing job.
