My boyfriend plays on a Sunday night league here. The place itself is state of the art and extremely spacious and clean. Employees are always smiling and they seem genuine that they love their job. The rinks itself are rather cold, but it's to be expected if you're watching a hockey game after all. I recommended a hoodie and a blanket if you're watching from the stands (which aren't that comfy, let's be honest!) An arcade is on site if you're here for a party and the cafe is filled with snacks to help your grumbling stomach. Cash only though! I would say it's perfect for crawling babies-about 9 years old. There is a baby/toddler only area. The lounge area is set up in a way where it overlooks the play area... with comfy chairs and couches. They have a room you can reserve for birthday parties. They have a cafe which sells coffee, snacks, and kids lunch items like grilled cheese, chicken nuggets, and mac and cheese. I did try a grilled cheese here and was very disappointed! But I had low expectations and it was still something I could eat. It was fairly priced at $3. My friend ordered mac and cheese for her kiddo and it looked creamy and delicious so I will try that next time. The cost for entry is $10 a kid, and it may be kids under a year are free but don't hold me to that. I was able to go in free with my infant and was able to spend some time conversating with a friend who has two toddlers. So it's a great set up where as long as your children behave properly, you can actually have conversations with other adults! If they stayed open until 7 or 8 and had a maximum height limit it would be perfect!

Hip hip hooray!…read more West Park is not only back open, but really spiffed up and improved. It was a perfectly nice park before, but it was always pretty discouraging that the old amphitheatre was so neglected and inactive. Up until several weeks ago, the only show I had ever seen there was guerilla-style, when some WCBN folks decided to do a somewhat impromptu acoustic performance for a handful of black-t-shirted-listeners. I'm thrilled, however, to report that the amphitheatre has been polished up and its seating vastly improved. There's now a stepped area in front of the stage, which allows families and folks with lawn chairs and dogs to stake out a listening spot while not really blocking anyone else's view/listing enjoyment. There aren't many performances yet, but I am feeling hopeful. The last several Wednesday evenings, strains of the civic band have enticed us to join the crowd. The overall landscape of the park has been revamped as well. My understanding is that the previous layout would often flood or get muddy because of the nature of the (mostly) underground Allen Creek. Now there are wetland areas as well as a small pond with a boardwalk. It's strange how so much change could make a park feel like it "fits" better into the land, but that's exactly how it feels to me. Edible Avalon is also nurturing a large community garden in some of the previously unused space near the basketball court. I'm grateful to have a greenspace like this so close to home.

As many times as I had driven past Domino's along Route 23, I never knew there was a petting farm nestled back in there! Very well kept, animals' pens were clean, animals all looked very healthy and well cared for. The grounds were also well maintained. Sheep, horses, goats, rabbits, chickens, peacock, donkey, alpaca, geese, etc. In various pens inside and outside of the barns. Animals outside of the buildings also had coverage areas built for them. An aged stationary tractor is on display for children to climb up onto the seat and play "Farmer John" for a while. There was also a playground area as well as an oversized doll house for children to experience. A poll barn is used as a gathering center for birthday parties, etc. Great idea for children to go and experience farm animals up close and personal. Fun afternoon.

I came here with my 1-year-old daughter for a birthday party a few weeks ago. My friends had rented out their pavilion and were supposed to have it from 10a-12p, but they got overbooked so had to be out by 1130a. They had pizza delivered and there were plenty of tables for kids and adults to sit. We got to walk through the petting zoo, and carrots were provided to feed the animals, and also did a tractor ride. I was surprised there was only one barn with animals, although there are cows, pigs, and more on-property that you can also see. The animals were all cute and happy to gulp down the carrot sticks. I don't live in Ann Arbor anymore (I'm a UM grad) and it's a bit out of the way, so I don't anticipate coming here that much - it's a cute place for kids but I guess I was expecting it to be a bit larger or something.

This review is mostly for experienced jumpers that want to fun jump. We did not experience the…read moretandem aspect first hand. The place is very easy to find, in the middle of nowhere Michigan. We drove in from Kalamazoo and it was an easy drive. They advertise a discounted early jump. Sadly, didn't get that price so beware of that. We arrived early and the equipment check was quick. They had quite a bit of sitting areas for people waiting/watching but they were directly in the sun. The hanger is about the only source of shade there, which does make sense but you might want a hat if you'll be hanging out a while. On the skydiving/jumping aspect: The place had excellent new(er) parachutes to rent, awesome views of Michigan which included a lake and the speedway. They have fast planes and take you to higher elevations than a lot of other places. The operation was very smooth and efficient. They ran two planes alternating while we were there, so one plane every 10-15 minutes. They had tv's with an ETA of each load and ran pretty spot on. They had a large re-packing area. The observations I made for tandems: they seem to have a secluded classroom for the safety review/education. they had ample tandem instructors that seemed happy to be there and they must run a solo jump training program because I saw a few people getting one on one help on the ground prior to their jumps. They also had 1-4 tandems in most of the loads while we were there (Saturday) so quite a bit of jumpers. The equipment was also impeccable. They seemed to have someone educating students on packing as well so it appears they are ready to teach anyone at any level.
