Located in a strip mall off Potranco, parking was super easy.. especially for a 7am appointment lol Office was clean and modern...practice has been around for 5 years. The entire staff was fabulous! Tori was my hygienist and she was awesome. Kind, patient, caring, empathetic... she truly cared and wanted to make sure I was comfortable. She explained everything she was doing and always inquired if I had any questions or to let her know if I was uncomfortable. Bite x-rays were taken with a handheld x- ray gun and cleaning started with a sonic water machine, prior to manual cleaning with instruments. Love how technology has really stepped up these past few years. Met Dr. Brandon for my teeth exam. Very nice and professional. All these years of never having any dental issues or cavities... I succumbed to my first issue. After careful examination, a crack in one of my molars was diagnosed. A two appointment process was scheduled for application of a temporary crown , then three weeks after the final permanent crown. Crowns made are outsourced. Received my estimate at the front desk and all future appointments were made. Not looking forward to a crown, but I feel confident this experience is going to be ok. And received a little baggy containing a free toothbrush, and sample toothpaste with floss. Yay!!! My last dentist didn't offer that at all. Story to be continued......

I called and was able to schedule an appointment quickly. I arrive for my appointment, get the scans/exam done and waiting for "the next steps" and bill breakdown. I wasn't 100% set on this place doing the work but wanted to see their quote and my options since we just moved here. I had Dr. Alston, her exam was quick and she was kind for the most part. The quote comes back and it's $1923 for everything. I was shocked and this other lady who I assumed was their billing said the specific crown I needed wasn't covered by insurance. I asked the quote for the crown my insurance covers and with a smart ass smirk she says "take the total and deduct $887.29". So they were wanting an extra $900 almost for a crown my insurance didn't cover that was essential. I told them I needed a minute to call my husband and insurance. United Concordia told me if it was absolutely necessary (like they claimed) they could make a note and submit to my insurance and they would almost certainly cover, but of course they didn't. They just want the extra money. I asked if they could do it with the crown my insurance covered since it they wouldn't claim it as essential and Dr. Alston said it's possibly but she basically said she personally wouldn't do the crown unless I got the fancy one(but they refused to submit the request to my insurance). My husband says we can get a second opinion if I'd like or otherwise he said to just let them fix it and he would pay the bill. But the situation felt off. Either way, their endo is only in on Tuesday and I told them Tuesday's wouldn't work for me. So I head to the front desk find the "billing lady" and ask her if the endo is at a different location on another day and I can go to that location. And she informs me I can get a referral to any in network endo it didn't have to be theirs. Then she informs me she can give me a referral to base dental. I was surprised, I thought it was only for service members but here they service dependents too. I asked "do you recommend them" to which she replied "I personally wouldn't. My husband got three crowns there and they didn't mold them it's just straight across. But since your husband is okay putting the cheapest material in your mouth it should be perfect for you" I later find out she's not billing she's the OFFICE MANAGER...MARIE HOUGHTLING. All because I didn't immediately give them $2k and wanted a second opinion on MY CARE. and I wanted to double check them with my insurance she proceeds to call my husband cheap. And she made sure to be real confident saying it super loud and condescending with a waiting room full of other patients. I went to the car completely in shock and had my husband go in to which she acted like she didn't say that, he requested she send my referral to base dental...it took her THREE weeks and about 5-6 phone calls from me for her to finally submit the referral. And no shocker she never did, she sent it to me and said she couldn't get ahold of them to submit the referral. After she emailed me my referral I was able to IMMEDIATELY call base dental and submit my referral within 15 minutes. So not only was she absolutely rude, disrespectful, and insulting she failed by refusing to do her job. Such an embarrassment to the brand name to be acting like this as a grown woman and office manager.

Birthday Breakfast? Nope. Birthday at the Dentist…read more Nothing says "Happy Birthday!" quite like spending the first part of your special day in a dental chair. But honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way--especially at Schuchart Dentistry. Today was my regular bi-annual checkup and cleaning, plus I had fillings scheduled for two cavities they found. What I didn't expect was a morning full of firsts, birthday coincidences, and some very nice people. First up was Ryan, the newest dental hygienist--and today was literally his first day at this office. He has more than 15 years of experience as a hygienist, so he clearly knows his way around teeth; he just needed a little time to get acquainted with the machines and his new surroundings. Despite a few minor pauses, he was professional, thorough, and had wonderfully light hands. The cleaning was easy and comfortable, which is pretty much all I ask for when someone is poking around inside my mouth. Of course, I have to give a shout out to Carol, the dental assistant who usually takes care of me. She handled my 350-degree X-rays today before handling me to Ryan. Carol has such a sweet and caring personality that she has become part of my "dentist anxiety management team." I always feel calmer when she's around. Then Cassey took over and prepped me for my fillings with Dr. Chris Schuchart . She was professional, thorough, and--here's another birthday plot twist--her 19-year-old son shares my birthday! And apparently, one of Dr. Chris's children does too. At this point, I was starting to wonder if I accidentally booked my birthday party at the dentist's office. Dr. Chris was quick, efficient, and also thorough with my fillings, and thankfully, he also has those coveted light hands. Afterwards, Cassey handed me my new Invisalign trays and the fluoride varnish kit--which I decided to bravely apply myself at home. Some things are better left to the professionals; apparently, fluoride varnish is where I draw the line. And I can't forget Sage at the front office, who is always a huge help. From appointment reminders to making check-in practically effortless, she consistently makes the administrative side of visiting the dentist painless--which, frankly, should be standard everywhere. I really do love coming here. The dentists and staff at Schuchart Dentistry are warm, welcoming, and genuinely caring will still being professional. It's the kind nun of place where everyone seems to remember that there's an actual person attached to the set of teeth they're working on. My only request for my next appointment: Can I please have Carol again? Her calm, sweet personality makes going to the dentist feel considerably less intimidating. So yes, I started my birthday in a dental chair. No cake, (oh I brought them donuts) no champagne, just x-rays, fillings, Invisalign, and fluoride. Would I do it again? Absolutely. I can literally walk there in 10 mins. I'd seen this dental office on social media and love the aesthetic of the outside. The photos of the inside I've seen was just as impressive. The husband-wife team of dentists are young and family oriented. I knew I'd found my place! GETTING IN: scheduling an appointment was so easy. The gal I spoke to was very professional and friendly and we easily coordinated a date and time for my initial visit. I show up on the day of my visit very excited. Giddy, even. Let's get these teeth in tip-top shape! Check in was simple and I glance around the large waiting area. Portraits of the dentists and their child are framed and mounted on the wall, along with licenses and certificates. I love the ambiance, still smells brand new, lighting is comfortable and every surface is clean. There's what I can only guess is a child's play room, but I'm not 100% sure. THE TEAM: I have to say, the treatment team in back are awesome. Down to earth and really fun, actually. We shared quite a few laughs in conversation. The equipment is state of the art, so easy for my X-ray results and explanation of my dental health to be broken down simply for me on a screen. My first visit was just for a simple cleaning for my child -- nothing special, nothing terrible -- but seeing dead crickets by the front desk should've been the first red flag. I brushed it off as an isolated incident. Big mistake. Next came the orthodontics appointment. I wasn't told until later that their orthodontist travels between locations -- something that would've been helpful to know before scheduling. We arrived 15 minutes early for a 2:30 p.m. appointment, checked in, and then sat. And sat. And sat. We weren't called back until 3:20 p.m. -- nearly an hour later -- because they apparently "skipped us." Not once, but twice. After finally being seen, we discussed the plan, signed the paperwork, and were told we'd need a few extractions before braces could be completed. The orthodontist placed a few brackets that day "to get things started." Now I realize that was probably just to lock us into the payment plan. Fast forward to extraction day -- the day before the appointment, at 3 p.m., the front desk calls to say there's an "insurance issue" and we'd have to reschedule. Are you kidding me? I had spoken with the front desk multiple times in the weeks leading up to this -- including a week and a half prior -- and not once did anyone mention a problem. My daughter is covered under two employer-based dental plans. There is no excuse for this kind of incompetence. Because of their failure to verify insurance properly, we now have to wait another month or more -- because, remember, their orthodontist only comes to this office once a month. That means I'm now paying for two full months of orthodontic treatment when absolutely nothing has been done. And no, four brackets on her front teeth that aren't even connected to anything don't count as "treatment." To make matters worse, when I expressed frustration, the front desk clerk actually said, "Well, at least I called you today and you didn't find out tomorrow morning." As if that somehow makes it acceptable. The total lack of accountability here is astounding. Bottom line: this office is disorganized, unprofessional, and completely careless with both patients and their time. I would never recommend this place for any dental or orthodontic care.
