He insisted they were a retail store not a mechanic shop. After arguing back and forth he eventually gave in and said he'll let me do it this one time. Here's where it gets interesting. 1. I called before going to the store and clearly indicated I had 5 gallons of used oil and if it was okay to drop it off. They said yes. 2. On the website it indicates 5 gallons per day limit. 3. NYC and NY state law clearly indicate all retailers and service station must accept 5 gallons of used motor oil or transmission oil per day; per person. It shouldn't have taken a back and forth argument just for me to drop the equivalent of 2 oil changes worth of oil. Employees need to be retrained on store policy and customer service.

Today we're installing a new dual exhaust system with 2 new Catalytic Converters and I needed 2 Oxygen sensors for my classic 1997 Lincoln Town Car. To my surprise, New Glen actually had the high quality exhaust systems and DENSO Oxygen Sensors in stock. I find without question, New Glen Auto Warehouse do offer the best wholesale prices on all their automotive parts as compare to their competitors. The owner Joe and staff was very professional, honest, attentive and accommodating as usual. I do know from my excellent multiple experiences with Joe the owner, that if they don't have the part in stock, typically its 2 hours or less for local delivery and if it's a special order, it's always the next day. Having a large inventory of quality name parts in stock is important to me since I drive in from Princeton, New Jersey over 2+ hours. I spoke with the worker Peter, and was very friendly and helpful with explaining what the issue was on my father's 2015 Dodge Caravan. He explained what needed to be done to resolve the issue. It got taken care of. Also, I have taken my own car (Toyota Corolla 2015) to get a wheel alignment and a new set of tires. Peter then again help me and explained in great detail the warranty of the tires. There are Great Mechanics at this Pep Boys location. I would definitely return to this location.

Yesterday I was on hold with them for this long and then got transferred to the Pep Boys Headquarters where no one answered the phone despite it being normal operating hours. Then I called the general customer service number and after selecting the correct menu number, received a "wrong number" sound. I haven't heard that sound since the 90s. This makes me think that maybe pep boys uses rotary phones and so they don't have the digital message or continuous ring that lets their workers know that someone is still holding. That's being generous. I'm pretty sure they're just not picking up the phone. Anyway what I need information on I can't find online. I need to speak to someone at the store. I don't think they are interested in getting business though. If you are considering using them and getting a warranty, your warranty may be useless if you can't actually inquire about it. If you have a flat tire and need assistance, you might have to wait on the side of the road a few days so I would put blankets in your car and pack a fresh pair of underwear and make sure you have your phone charger. Im still on hold and my phone's about to die so I need to call someone that can actually help, which again, means the service package I bought useless. Okay, wish me luck!

Yet, understanding it's nearly impossible to catalog and inspect every part of a junker, I decided to take the trip to Ridgewood anyway before giving in to thinner aftermarket steel. The guys here are friendly and genuinely helpful--a totally different experience in comparison to the one I had in Corona. The only downside is that these guys only have one or two people actually pulling parts in the back so prepare to wait 10-20 minutes or more if you walk in with a shopping list during a busy day. The fender they pulled for me had a light ding, but they didn't push and let me inspect it thoroughly. It really was in relatively good shape with no serious rust and I was given a truly unbeatable price. $350 new from Mercedes, ~$45 new aftermarket, $50 for genuine OE at this place which is cheaper than most, if not all, pick-a-part yards across the country. While their inventory is searchable online, not all the stuff they have on hand is cataloged. I went in expecting to return home with a light gray fender, but left with a maroon one from a different car instead. Give them a call even if nothing turns up online because they just might have what you need. I didn't know where to stick this last bit so here it is: parking in the area is a pain in the ass.
