After reading some of the reviews and seeing the low star rating, I was a little apprehensive about scheduling with this office. However, I try to never judge a book by its cover. This is going to be a long review but I'm hoping it eases concerns of anyone looking at the star rating or reading the low star reviews and deciding against coming here.
I found this office through a Tik Tok video and decided to look it up as I was looking for a new gynecologist. I was able to schedule my appointment online with ease and got an appointment with PA Shannon Ravesi very quickly for my annual pap. I received an email and text confirmation after scheduling my appointment online.
A few days later, I received clear communication by text and email regarding their process of pre-registering through their portal prior to the appointment. When I didn't do it the first time, they sent me a reminder text and email a few days prior to my appointment reminding me to pre-register. Their instructions are very clear, if you don't pre-register, you will not be seen and will need to reschedule your appointment. I gladly pre-registered to avoid screwing up my appointment.
On the day of my appointment, I arrived 10 minutes prior like the suggested. The receptionist was friendly and welcoming and asked if I pre-registered to which I told her I did. She took a copy of my insurance card and let me know she was emailing me a link to register to their online portal where I will have access to my results and other information regarding my patient care. I received the link immediately.
I wasn't sitting in the waiting room for more than 3 minutes before getting called back to take my vitals. The medical assistant who took me back was very sweet. Once I got into the room she confirmed the information I had added when I pre-registered and provided instructions to prepare for my exam. At this point a total of 10 minutes had passed from the time I walked into the door and it being exactly my appointment time.
While I waited for the PA to come in, I read a sign they had posted which clearly outlined what is covered during an annual wellness exam and what isn't. This is extremely beneficial to patients as often times once a patient starts discussing things outside of the scope of what the original appointment was for, it will change the appointment type and it will not be billed as an annual wellness visit which may cause the patient to incur an unexpected bill. My advice, if you have questions you want to ask that is not part of an annual pap, schedule a second appointment which is what I did as soon as my appointment was over.
I waited maybe a total of 3 minutes in the room when Shannon the PA came in and introduced herself and the student that was with her. Her vibe was very upbeat and kind which is always great especially after having experienced past doctors and PAs who have given off a very dry and almost an "annoyed to be there" type of vibe.
After going over my medical history and asking if I had any questions she preformed my exam which was quick. She asked again if I had any questions once she was done. We discussed me scheduling the follow up visit to address the questions I had as she did communicate the same thing the sign did regarding what's included in the visit. Once she was done, I waited a few minutes for the medical assistant to bring me paperwork and then I was sent to check out.
The woman at the check-out desk was also very welcoming and was able to get my follow up visit scheduled with ease. The entire process had me in and out of the office in 40 minutes.
Something to remember when making your appointment here or anywhere else; the time of day 100% matters. My appointment was at 8:45am and I arrived at 8:35am. The earlier in the day you are able to make your appointment, the quicker your appointment will more than likely be. The later in the day you make your appointment, the longer you may have to wait due to issues that may arise throughout the day for your treating physician.
Bottom line, do I recommend this office, 100% yes! Do I recommend PA Shannon, 100% yes! Do I recommend you follow the instructions they clearly provide you regarding pre-registering, 100% yes. Do I recommend arriving on time for your appointment, 100% yes.
As long as you do your part to prepare for the appointment, I'm sure your experience will go as smooth as mine did. read more
