My OBGYN ended up moving to Centennial Ob/Gyn about 2 years ago. After finding out Dr. Sarah Newton moved locations, I booked a follow up appointment through their online scheduling portal. It was about 2 months out before I could see my OBGYN. The Centennial Ob/Gyn is located in the medical office building next to the Centennial Hills Hospital. There are plenty of parking spots available. The Ob/Gyn is located on the fourth floor and it's right next to the elevator entrance. As soon as I walked in, I noticed how busy it was. Almost all of the chairs were in use. I had arrived about 30 minutes early to my appointment and was able to fill out any additional information that was needed at the front desk. The entire office was decorated for the Holidays, which was awesome! I was actually called ahead of my appointment time by a few minutes just for the normal procedure check in. The team member then informed me once a room was ready, I would get called back in. The room was ready at my appointment time which was at 3:15 and I didn't have to wait long at all to see Dr. Sarah Newton. She is amazing and was able to answer all of my questions and provided a plan moving forward! The check out process was a breeze. They provided all of the paperwork I needed for next steps and made a follow up appointment! It was a great experience and their online portal is fantastic. read more

I had one of the worst medical experiences of my life with Dr. Lopez, and I would never recommend him to anyone. I regret even stepping foot in his office. First of all, I was already uncomfortable seeing a male gynecologist, but I tried to give it a chance to get an earlier appointment. That was a mistake I'll never make again. During my IUD insertion, he clamped something wrong and a shock went through my entire body--I immediately felt like I was going to pass out, vomit, and lose control of my bowels all at once. It was excruciating. And instead of finishing quickly to end the pain, he stopped mid-procedure to say, "Oh, I can wait." That left me in agony for almost a full minute until I begged him to just finish. It was absolute torture, and it showed me how out of touch he was with the situation. On top of that, his casual comment that "since you haven't had a baby, this will just hurt more" was disgusting and dismissive. If that's true, why isn't there any real pain management offered? Why is that brushed off like it's no big deal? It was clear to me that he has no true understanding of how sensitive a woman's uterus is--or worse, he just doesn't care. Afterwards, instead of being given proper support, the nurse handed me an ice pack (when all I desperately needed was heat for the cramping) and left me alone in a dark room, telling me I could leave when I was "ready." No compassion, no real aftercare. I honestly felt like I should have gone straight to the hospital. This entire experience left me traumatized. Now I have an extreme fear of anything involving my uterus, and I tear up just thinking about it. Dr. Lopez is the last person I would trust with women's health. He was careless, dismissive, and completely disconnected from the pain and reality of what I was going through. read more

This dr was very set in his ways, when I felt pain during my procedure he told me that it was because I was stressed out and that I needed to relax and it's not good to be stressed. What kind of a response is that? His office also didn't tell me the full cost of the procedure when I called. They also made an incision that was supposed to close and did not. I have attached a picture. When I emailed the doctor for help and advice he didn't even reply. This is clearly a business where they only care about profit and need strong improvement in how they talk to patients and follow up. Charged me a conciliation fee before I went in. When they couldn't help me refused to give me the fee back. When I said I was going to contest the charge .... I've been a patient of Dr. Lopez's for about 4 years now. I switched doctors because some of the advice my last gynecologist had given me was extremely outdated and actually would have caused me a lot more problems. I found Dr. Lopez and I can say I fully trust him. He explains everything and answers all questions. He also tried many different treatments, right off the bat, to help with some of my issues, which have been somewhat complicated, and we finally found one that works best for me. I was never offered any options before. The office staff is very friendly, helpful and it is never busy when I come in. I get in right away. If I have a problem or a question, I just call. This place needs to get it together. After my annual exam it was necessary for me to get an endometrial biopsy and ultrasound according to the doctor. I explained from the start that I don't have that kind of money laying around and that I had a fund through my job that would cover it. Ashley explained that the doctor had been "burned" before so unless I had a debit card directly tied to the fund I would have to pay myself and file my own claim. I checked with my insurance and they confirmed I could do this. Cut to the day of service and I receive a piece of paper that has nothing on it but what I paid. There's a whole sheet of codes but nothing even related to what I'm getting done on it. The lady at the desk is completely confused when I ask about it and the other person steps in and says if I have any questions to ask the doctor. I ask the doctor and he's talking about when the claim is filed. I explain that I have to file the claim and would like a code. He mentioned that I would get something in the mail which would have it. Given the nature of my procedure, I didn't want to add more stress on myself and didn't think anything more about it. So imagine my surprise when I receive an email for this service. The doctor filed a claim which means I can't file one now for the same procedure. And the fund did pay for it exactly like I said it would. Now I have to deal with the added hassle of calling them to get my money back. And I'm sure they'll try to come up with some explanation but this doctor is in network and my paperwork clearly states how much I "saved." I had to wait three months to even get the procedure done because I didn't have the money. To see that I've been taken advantage of is even more of a slap in the face. And they still want to charge me for an ultrasound and a follow up visit which would be another $300 under the guise of a "deductible." The policy here is to exploit people when they're at they're most vulnerable which is the exact opposite of what a doctor should do. And I still haven't received results from my test. UPDATE: So while (mostly) yelling at Ashley after she claimed she NEVER said I would have to file my own claim going as far as saying I misunderstood her. Really? So I'm asking both them and the doctor about it why? Because I want to file my own claim and wait 4-6 weeks to be reimbursed because I like making things difficult for myself (/s). Then she says the amount I paid was the deductible as an underhanded attempt to actually keep the money as if I don't understand my claim. Next she tells me it will be added to my account. Why would I ever want to have another service here? She finally offered a paper check once the payment posts because she can't actually see that there's a payment because the doctor receives them by mail. Seriously? In 2020. You can take the payment immediately from my card but I have to wait for a check and then cash it? Literally every other word out of her mouth is a lie. read more

I don't think this office actually cares to help women unless you want a vag rejuvenation. The only piece of literature/pamphlets there are for vag makeovers lol. I felt extremely uncomfy here from dr Lopez-Benitez not believing I had ovarian cysts and an irregular PAINFUL periods for over a decade(he kept saying it shouldn't be painful, PCOS isn't painful.) To the ultrasound technician who had me undress with her in the room for my vaginal ultrasound. When I was done with the ultrasound I noticed the door wasn't even shut and the curtain halfway opened...I could see clearly down the hall.... Super unsettling. I did return because I was still having issues and already spent so much money seeing this dr and could not afford to do this all over again with another office. I will say dr Lopez-Benitez did NOT make me feel unsafe or uncomfy as a female seeing a male dr like I thought it would be like. I google searched OB-Gyn near my home, called this office and was scheduled a week later which was awesome, fast and efficient. My first visit Dr. Lopez-Benitez turned great, the office is extremely clean and neat, staff are friendly and patient. I called Dr. Lopez a wrong name and he laughed, a very nice doctor with humor. Before the appointment this office sent me text reminder (thank you so much) for a few times. After having my pap smear done, I asked Dr. Lopez if his office can send me a reminder for a yearly check, Dr. told me the staff will, I am very happy with my first visit. I love this office because I feel care. This office has patient portal which makes everything convenient, I received the email from this office and log in to my portal and saw my results (my appointment was last Friday), super efficient! I've been a patient of dr.lopez for years & he has been the sweetest and most caring doctor I've encountered so far. Very kind man with a gentle spirit. I moved to blue diamond but I still made the trip centennial because of the relationship I've had with my doctor over the years. I'm sad to say after a recent bad experience I had with his staff, I will no longer be a patient of his. There was a misunderstanding with my insurance and the staff assumed I had a co-pay. When I advised her of my HRA account and they were the ones she would need to bill, she refused to call my insurance to verify. She kept insisting I had a co-pay and even got loud and very aggressive about it in the waiting room. I was shocked that someone so careless and rude would even be working in his office. It's unfortunate for Dr.Lopez because that is how you lose your patients, terribly staff. She failed to do her job by simply calling and verifying with my insurance. A two min call to clear a small misunderstanding could prevented this. I turned the visit down because I refuse to pay for something out of pocket I didn't have to pay for. I scheduled an appointment a month in advance. I show up to said appointment and was told I need to pay for the visit as a cash pay because the lady at the front desk is claiming my insurance doesn't cover annual exams. If Be had this insurance for years and all my exams for me and my kids have always been coveted. I'm trying to explain this and the woman at the front desk is screaming at me. She is talking so loudly that another patient who was standing by the door also joined into the conversation regarding my personal business. They had a month to verify with my insurance company and of course my insurance was closed when I arrived at my appointment. The lady I spoke to you as rude and demeaning. She told me that I must not have a life as I went to walk out of the door. So I called my insurance this morning. They confirmed my yearly exams are covered at 100 percent so long as the provider is in Network and I verified this provider is in my network. So they lied to me and apparently wanted to collect $220 from me and also bill my insurance for something that was covered at 100%. What insurance doesn't cover physical exams? It doesn't even make any sense but I did confirm with my instance this morning that they were incorrect and gave me inaccurate information which I already knew considering they've paid every annual exam for all of my family members for years. I'm glad I didn't use them considering their treatment in the lobby and their deception when it comes to billing. I recommend too checking you coverage if you're going to use this place. I had my first visit with Dr. Lopez today. Everything was fantastic. The front desk staff was prompt and polite, the office was clean and welcoming with plenty of room for social distancing. My appointment was at 10am and the medical assistant took me back just a few minutes before. Dr. Lopez was in the room by 10:05 and even apologized for being late. He answered all my questions in a polite and informative way, while allowing me to make my own decisions regarding a medication change. The yearly exam it's self was quick and painless. They also have a patient portal to see all results and appointments online. I would highly recommend this office and will use them for my future needs. read more

For most women going to the Ob/Gyn is such a terrible experience. Dr. Lopez is my first ever Ob/Gyn experience, and I can say it is far from terrible every single time I visit him and his office. Dr. Lopez and his staff make sure that every single patient is comfortable. and that all of their questions are answered. I have been visiting his practice for the past three years and every single visit is less than 30 minutes! It's a simple get in, get a Pap Smear, get a new prescription for birth control, and get out once a year for an annual examination. My favorite part about the office is that they always try to keep in contact with their patients. They offer both a web portal system as well as calling patients to make sure that they receive any and all test results in a timely manner. I highly recommend this office! read more

I was very hesitant to post my review because all those I read had 5 stars, which is why I visited this practice. Now, I think the lower starred reviews from last year might contain some truth. I felt super deceived because my visit was such a letdown. All of those yelp stars didn't seem earned, more like bribed with the promise of a $5 gift card. Before my visit, I was totally going to give 5 stars for coffee. Do you still get that if it's not a 5 star review? I'm sure that this Dr. is brilliant and reapectable, but his personality made what is often an uncomfortable situation worse during my visit. I hate to say it, but the "care" part of my visit was seriously lacking and I have only realized the difference after going somewhere else -somewhere my friends had told me they felt comfortable. The receptionists are all very kind, and the practice is clean, but I feel like I just didn't receive 5 star care here that I assumed I would get after seeing so many 5 star reviews. So thankful that my friends had better recommendations. I hope that my visit is not representative of that of most of his patients. At first they seemed like an excellent choice, and then I started noticing their dirty billing tricks! A few patients came in demanding a reason why they were being billed twice by the DR. And their insurance company. I didn't believe it! Not until the office tried to do the same to me and stated I'd contact my insurance company to refund me what they were trying to charge. I called my insurer, who stated this was NOT how things worked. My Insurance rep contacted them for a refund for me, and reported them to the board. Dr.Lopez is amazing! I had my tubes tied 8 years ago and recently got re-married and we decided we wanted to expand our family. Went in for a consultation and met with Dr.Lopez. He took his time talking me through the process and he always asked if I had any questions ( which I did ) haha, but never once felt rushed or like an annoyance that you can sometimes feel with other doctors. When we went in to the hospital to start the pre-registration process ( not covered by insurance FYI ) we hit a snag. The hospital told us one set price and than got a call saying that the actual price had increased. I was upset to say the least so I called Dr. Lopez and he contacted the hospital and talked them directly. Sure enough he settled things and we ended up paying what we were told to begin with. He went above and beyond. The day of surgery came and we met before entering the surgery room. He assured me everything would be alright and one again talked me through the process. We all know surgery sucks! But it went just as planned. He got both of my tubes reconnected! Less than a year later and I'm pregnant! I can't thank Dr.Lopez and his staff enough! read more

Honest to God I don't know how this Dr. got such a high Yelp rating because I found dealing with this Dr (who has the personality of a dying fish) dreadful. First of all, for cash paying customers, you have to pay up front so if you get crappy service from the Doctor, which I did, you're screwed. Secondly, he pushes for surgery (big bucks) instead of exploring other options. I found his knowledge to be rather limited for someone who is supposed to be a specialist. Thirdly, don't believe the marketing hype or the staff when they tell you they pride themselves on running on time and not overbooking appointments. That was a lie. I arrived for the first appointment of the afternoon. The waiting room was locked and there was nowhere to sit. When the staff opened the waiting room another woman who had been waiting in the hallway with me, also had an appointment at the same time. How is that possible when there is only one Doctor? I then proceeded to wait half an hour (8 patients had accumulated in the waiting room during that time) before I was seen and the Doctor made no apology for keeping me waiting. Clearly he suffers from the same God like syndrome that so many other Las Vegas Doctors suffer from where they think their time is more valuable than the paying customers who keep them in the lifestyle they have become accustomed to. read more

The doctor provided honest feedback and suggestions about family planning. It can be hard to get into a doctors office here in Las Vegas but this office had good availability. I thought that I was going to be in an actual ER but that was not the case. It's located on the fourth floor *IN* a hospital. Once I got into the waiting room, there was only one other woman there and she was finishing filling out her paperwork. When I approached the counter, the young lady working there was very soft-spoken and helped me ease through the paperwork which was not really all that much to begin with. She answered questions about my insurance that I had which was very helpful. I had to wait maybe 5 to 10 minutes before being taken back, and when I got in there the young woman took my blood pressure and gave me a very strange paper outfit to wear. This was my first exam of this kind ever, so it was a little strange for me and I wasn't sure what to expect. It took quite a bit for the doctor to finally see me, but when he did he was very nice and smiling and explained anything that I had to ask about very well and made me feel comfortable. He let me know whenever he was going to do the exam and he let me know whenever he was going to insert the speculum, so that I wasn't surprised by it. Afterwards, he answered any questions I had such as "what is endometriosis?" (just because I wanted to hear what a doctor said), and other questions pertaining to my body in particular. He said that everything seemed to be fine and let me know that I could do a breast exam by myself (which is common knowledge but it was nice of him to inform me of that anyway, since I have never done it before, and he showed me how to do it). The exam itself was very uncomfortable, but not because of the doctor, just because how many of you honestly want people poking around in your business down there? Especially with metal tools? Not me, but again, it wasn't the Docs fault. Just the experience of being a woman. Would go back here again, it is nice, clean, and everyone was informative and helpful. read more

Absolutely terrible experience with this doctors billing department. No one is ever there to help was double charged. I paid $150 for a pregnancy test- later I learned they charged my insurance company for said pregnancy test so they got paid twice. I called to get a refund and was told I should receive it in two weeks. If you knew I paid and my insurance paid why wouldn't you go ahead and start the refund months ago? My other gripe is that I was told since there was a possibility of me being pregnant I couldn't get my wellness exam- which is not true, it's actually highly recommended. However, they let me know at the appointment that they can do it since I'm not pregnant in a rude manner- he is no longer an obstetrician, if you aren't an obstetrician take it out of your business name. It's misleading to a lot of women who may need one. I will be calling in two weeks to ensure I get money back and will be following up with my insurance company again. From the moment I walked in the staff was very nice. I loved how there was music playing in the patient room while I waited for the Dr to come in. I'm writing this review based on two years ago, super late. But I'm going to talk about it. Two years ago as a 21 yr old. I had made my first appointment with a gynecologist because I was getting heavy periods for up to six weeks. I had absolutely no energy and was super weak and drained. The doctor didn't take it too serious he just said my body would restore itself within the three months. On my second visit still the same thing, I figured I had a hormone inbalance because I had gained 60 pounds once I got out of high school because I was no longer was working out six days a week.....At the second or third appointment it was a check up they talked me into getting a Pap smear. But I told the assistant that they can run the test they wanted. I just didn't want anything inside of me since I've never been sexually active. For some reason they think your lying about that. The doctor convinced me to do the pap smear/pelvic exam for health reasons . He was pushy about it. So this is how the rest goes he shoves the tool inside of me I was screaming for my dear life & crying. I told him to take it out right now.But he insisted that if I closed my legs it would hurt more & told me that he would be done quickly. I understand a Pap smear is what women have to go through at some point. But that was a awful experience that he just rammed the tool up there with-no patience. Fast forward to now I have flash backs to this day & remember how painful it was. As far up to my health currently I was extremely anemic & passed out. My iron levels were in the danger zone. Now I have to do iron infusions he never bothered to do blood work. I went to a different doctor and got better results all of the following above could have been avoided.So please go here at your own risk. Go where they take your health serious. read more

The office staff is so nice and always smiling. I started my daughters seeing Dr. Benetiz a few years ago. I was seeing different ob/gyn but the wait was getting so ridiculous there that I wanted to start my girls off somewhere new. So I researched and came up with Centennial OBGYN to try. My girls have been seeing him for a few years now and love him. Which says a lot since they are both very different and first timers to these types of appts. So after a few more years of excessive waiting at my dr and then to not even see her I decided to give Dr B a try myself. I love that he is so genuine and truly listens to his clients and cares.
