I found the answer at Swanky Dog in this tiny waterfront village of Langley, WA. The owner hand makes all of the fleece harnesses here, all for the small to medium sized dog, so many patterns and colors to choose from, easy to put on and take off, yet very secure thick velcro attachment straps. If you are a big guy with little dogs, or anyone with little dogs you have to bring them here and get them ready for our winter weather in style.

Just tried to return two items I purchased on sale here less than 24 hours ago, both with the original tags. An extremely unfriendly cashier supervisor who couldn't even take the time to say hello to me, informed me that clearance sale times were not returnable. Although this had never happened to me before, I was not aware of this policy, and there were no signs posted by these items regarding no returns, she wouldn't budge. From now on, I will only shop here when I cannot find what I need anywhere else.

The first time we came here, the owner introduced herself, and my wife and her chatted for a while. In the conversation, my wife mentioned that the K9 with her was her service dog due to her PTSD related to her service in the Navy. The owner mentioned that they had a veteran's discount, and so my wife was stoked on that as an option. We have been coming here for a few months, and during that time, we have received the 5% discount up to today [04 March 2025]. We came to get our 2 bags of K9 food and our bag of cat food and was told by the man behind the counter that only active service members are going to receive the 5% discount. My wife nor I have heard of only active service members receiving a discount at any store. The man was kind in regards to not giving us the discount and stated that it was something which had been in effect for quite some time so he seemed as confused about our situation as we were. If it weren't for the fact that this place is one of the few places that sell the brand Prey for dog food we'd stop coming here because we get a veteran's discount everywhere else we have shopped for dog food. I am sad that a local place, which is part of a close community of Port Townsend, doesn't offer a discount to those who have served for our country in the military along with active members. So if you are expecting to receive a veteran's discount (or have in the past), then this is a headsup that the discount doesn't apply. They are pleasant enough here and have a great variety of food options for dogs and cats. If we hadn't received mixed messages regarding getting a veteran's discount, then I wouldn't have taken the time to write this review with a 2 star rating. If they decide to accommodate veteran's along with active members then I will be happy to give this place a 5 star rating. My wife and I will continue to come here for our purchases of food that we get for our furry family. The service has always been welcoming and professional from the beginning. There is a large supply and selection of mostly food, treats and other chewables but also a nice selection of toys and pet accessories. What I like and also grabbed on my last visit are the large sized Braised beef hide free chewables. These come in all different sizes and flavors including chicken, venison, duck and more. The more you buy; you can get slight discounts which is nice. Because of it was my 'first visit' I was treated to a hedgehog chew toy by outward bound! A gent I chatted with said it lasted his dog several months, so it sounds like quality, which we all like. Along with this, it's just nice to support a local business and though I've not yet met Paul (The owner) I've heard many nice things about him and as mentioned, each visit the staff are very friendly and helpful.
