I loved it so much; my boyfriend came a couple of weeks later and he was equally impressed...maybe even more. When I came back, I was greeted with a welcome back, Jessica. They remembered me. How awesome is that? The selection of glasses is impressive and the reps here took the time to help us find the perfect pair. I never felt rushed. They listened and made us feel like VIPs and we left smiling and couldn't wait to pick up our specs. I wish i could rate this as 0 stars. This location provides poor customer service. I called yesterday and inquired if i could demo new Nuance glasses before I purchase. I was told i could come in anytime without an appointment and the demo would be available. . I tried them on and got fitted at a previous eye exam so i just needed to test them out. Due to illness, this is the first chance i had to go back. I realized with this being such an expensive purchase i need to actually see how they work and will they really meet my needs. The rep gave me a pair of the glasses and told me to scan the code. No further instructions were provided as i waited on the rep to return. After a few minutes, the rep Came back and admitted she did not know how to demo the product. This visit wasted my time as I was on lunch break. Had I been informed of this BEFORE my visit. Wouldve went elsewhere. This was a very disappointing visit and I'm appalled at how i was treated. Please take this review under advisement before visiting this location. read more

This regards MyEyeDr on Wisconsin Ave NW in DC. I had a great experience from reception to Dr. Ibrahim to frame selection. The process was streamlined, quick but thorough, every step of the way. Dr. Ibrahim listened and made an excellent suggestion. The frame consultant did a better job of helping me select the appropriate frame for my face than anyone else ever has. The glasses are supposed to arrive in 2 weeks, but I am extremely satisfied and hopeful about the new prescription and frames. read more

This place gave me the wrong prescription. Didn't realize it for a month or so because I was waiting on getting my glasses delivered. Called to explain that I CANNOT READ with prescription THEY GAVE ME, and I was told that I waited too long and would have to pay for a new exam. Never in my life have I encountered a business that screwed something up so badly and declined to try to fix it. This place should be reviewed by the BBB. If there was an option for zero stars, I would not hesitate to give it to this business. Long story short, I took two pair of glasses to them to update my prescription. By the time they came back, (after like 6 weeks of following up), I observed one pair did not have the transition which I had ordered on both pairs. So I took it back to them. This took approximately another 2 months. Making a total of 3 months ish. Since I'm used to getting my glasses back within a week, I kept calling everyday to remind them like it was my full time job and there was so much nonchalance probably because they planned on giving me a refund. They didn't even care about the impact of not having my glasses for that long. Well finally the returned glasses arrives and it turns out the transition was only done on one lens and not both. So I'm looking for another place to start the work over. I don't even have confidence that they gave me the right prescription at this point. Please run from these guys as fast as you can. read more

The Wisconsin Avenue store in Cathedral Commons represents Amateur Hour with a level of incompetence I've not seen in a lifetime of wearing eyeglasses. Where else would it take no fewer than 6 visits to have a routine pair of lenses made and placed in my frames? Two separate attempts created lenses that were "too big" for the frames which, of course, had been earlier purchased at the store. And the most fantastical excuse I've ever heard: "frames shrink over time." Oh, and I suppose the old lenses remained in place in the "shrunken" frames by magic. Retailing for over $1,000 [another obscenity], the lenses should have been correctly made on the first try, not the third. I will not be back to this comedy of errors. read more

I write this because of two separate negative experiences within a month with different family members. In the first incident, they refused service to my husband since the insurance company dropped off one of the letters in his name on the card despite him giving all info he would only know. Do NOT go here. - the doctor was half an hour late for my appointment - she didn't wash her hands in between appointments - she RUSHED through my exam - they assume you are ordering lenses from them and don't know how to explain the pricing: they won't price match unless you insist. I feel terrible for people who aren't familiar with the process and options because they outright lie or say "I don't know" - my contacts were taking long to arrive so they offered trial lenses: which weren't my prescription and they only told me that after I made the trip to pick them up. But "it's only a slight difference" - seems pretty irresponsible to me - I finally got my contacts in the mail and the slip said they were ordered the say I called to inquire, so I called the store to see what the issue was; the order was supposedly made on the day of my appointment, but it seems odd - I told the person on the other line my concerns and he said "he didn't know" and "okay" - no offer to resolve things or offer an apology - terrible customer service - they are clearly not looking out for the well-being of their customers read more

I want to note that Jerome Person was patient, attentive, and suggested frames that were exactly what I was looking for. It was so much fun I ended up with more than one pair. My initial experience at the physical office was fine. The eye doctor was great and they have a good selection of lenses, including nicer brands. I didn't like how I was forced to remove my mask and wear their mask when entering the location. Even required to use hand sanitizer even though I carry my own with me. Asking so many screening questions is just dumb. Does anyone actually say they don't feel well?? I realize it's for liability reasons but the franchise is taking it a step too far. I think we all know but know that covid is spread in the air and testing and a vaccine are the only effective tools to fight it. The trouble began when my glasses were delayed over a week. When calling the store, it takes a VERY long time to reach anyone. One time I waited 20+ minutes and couldn't reach anyone. I have a kid and a FT job and don't have time to chase down eye glasses. It requires three plus calls to finally get someone to track down the delayed glasses. Then I finally received a notice that my glasses are ready and I need an appointment to pick them up. I called to make the appointment and was forced to answer 5+ questions about covid. Are you a healthcare worker? Are you feeling bad? Have you been exposed to COVID? Then after a series of silly questions, I had to verify my identity. I provided my street address and was told I have to also verify the city, state and zip code. Like really you need me to tell you that a familiar street you know in DC is located in Washington, DC? I was even forced to say "Washington." This is just so dumb. Then I had to verify my phone number and email. There is no reason all of this information is needed to make an appointment to pick up my glasses. Last, I had to listen to instructions to "socially distance" before coming to my appointment. Dude, I just want my glasses. While listening to the man provide instructions about socially distancing, not bringing guests blah blah blah, I had to help my young child. I tried to get off the phone and was told I had to continue listening to the pointless covid rant or I could not attend the appointment. When I arrived to pick up my glasses, I had to call a number and wait for someone to come unlock the door. Then they brought out my glasses. In other words, don't come into the office. Long story short is that your glasses may be delayed and it's a frustrating process to try to make an appointment to pick them up. I will never return to mr eye doctor. I simply don't have time to deal with so many questions about COVID and my personal identity. I just had a major surgery and it was a less involved process than this was. read more

The worst customer service. Terrible policies on submitting claims. If it's not submitted on the day of service they just won't do it, it's on you. I had insurance, they couldn't find it, so I had to pay out of pocket or forego the appointment. Then the burden of rembursement was on me and treated out of network though it was in network because they refused to submit as a company policy. The insurance company was dumbfounded as to why they would have such a policy. So do yourself a favor, go elsewhere. read more

Don't come here. Incompetent with terrible customer service. Every interaction with them is so difficult and frustrating. After a straightforward eye exam for glasses and contacts, they refused to provide me with my prescriptions or an itemized receipt. Then my new prescribed contacts turned out not to work--it took a month for them to get new trial lenses for me. I could forgive this in light of COVID, but employees TWICE told me to come to the store to pick up the new lenses when they weren't actually available. I started to complain about their repeated mistake, and they told me to call to talk to a manager and abruptly closed the door in my face. The manager was no help. After finally getting my new contacts and asking again for my prescriptions and receipt, the manager informed me for the first time that my contact lens fitting was not covered by my insurance (which it is). So now I need to involve my insurance provider. And they STILL haven't sent me my prescriptions or an itemized receipt, which I need to try to solve the billing problem. I'm losing my mind. What a disappointment in customer service. After spending 1k here and thousands more at other of the chains locations...you would hope for better service. Instead, they try and get you in and out as quickly as possible, are not that friendly and shut the door in your face without so much as a "Thanks for your patience....it will just be a moment". Not great customer service. The person doing the first part of my eye exam complained she didn't want to be there and wanted to go home. The person who rang me up for my exam told me my total was $37. I asked what that price entailed and she named a service (refraction) that I did not receive. The actual price was $10. Be careful and keep track of each service/item you'll be charged for. The employees don't seem to care enough to make sure they're charging you correctly--odd since the information should be right in front of them. read more

Dr. Dearing and her entire staff (from the front desk greeting experience through the very end) provided me with the very best experience I have ever had from an optometrist. My eye-care needs are somewhat unique so I am rather picky. I chose to go see Evelyn based on a recommendation despite the hour-long drive from Gainesville. Let me just say, it was WELL worth it! I now have a new eye care professional who I feel is passionate about her craft and treated me as if I was her only patient of the day. I also learned something about my eyes that previous caregivers hadn't detected which, as I look back, I noticed Dr. Dearing taking a lot of time with me. I cannot say enough about Dr. Dearing's care and the friendly and professional staff. After the exam, Jerome went above and beyond to help me with my prescription and being that my eyes are quite bad, he took his time (after asking if I had the time of course) to find a way to save me some money to get me the best lenses with all the best filters and protections while saving me close to $100 compared to what I paid for my last pair of glasses. And those were not Transition lenses as these new ones are! Not sure how he pulled that off... he's a wizard! I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Dearing's practice. You won't be disappointed! read more

I will never go to this awful store again. My glasses broke on January 1st and had a replacement pair ordered immediately. It was supposed to take 7-10 days for my new pair and it has now been 3 weeks and still don't have my glasses. While the professional experience was positive their understanding of insurance is flawed. My wife and I are each covered by our respective employers plans to limit our out of pocket expenses. This location is refusing to submit the claims to both insurers and has been unable to explain why. They left it up to me to contact both insurance plans to see if we should be covered. I did, and we should. I don't appreciate that I had to get the additional info and now have to pursue a resolution up the chain with the company. They clearly state they have insurance experts on site and the concept of coinsurance shouldn't be something they can't handle, especially without an explanation. Very disappointing and negatively impacts the whole experience. Makes me wonder how much completely our coverage has been leveraged. read more

I had an appointment on Friday, took off work and arrived early. I have a service dog and I was literally told to please leave "pets are not allowed." I explained he's a service dog and the two young girls said it didn't matter because they have allergies. One girl loudly said "who brings a dog to the eye doctor?" I'm sorry for their ignorance but denying me and my dog is a legal offense. It was 110 degrees outside and I was not about to leave my dog tied up in that heat. The two girls were immature and rude, I would be embarrassed if I was the doctor at this store. Needless to say I never saw the doctor and I will not return to this location. read more

They initially told me it would be 2 weeks on the outside After telling me they would look into compensating me for the bad service, they never followed up. I did not like the experience I had at this place. The staff lacks communication and I did not feel like I had a doctor's visit even though that's what it was supposed to be. The exam was very rushed. The doctor did not clean the lens holder nor the lenses before placing it on my face; and the lenses were so dirty to the point that the doctor was surprised how I wasn't seeing well even after placing the correct exam lenses. Then, she realized that the lenses were so dirty and that's why I was seeing blurry. At that time she wiped them and then I was able to see clearly. So basically I could have had an incorrect prescription just because the lenses were not cleaned before they are used liked they're supposed to be. Also the billing is extremely unprofessional, they will not tell you that you need to pay until after they do the service for you that way you don't have any other option than to pay. For example they will go ahead and do the contact fitting without telling you that it will cost you more than 120$ even with the insurance and then you get surprised at the end that you have to pay 125$ because you got the "special contact fitting". This place did not feel like a medical place but more like a place where they're just trying to get money. For example, they kept trying to sell me the contacts lenses even though I specifically said that I don't need them until few months from now. This along giving me hard time to give me my physical prescription. Sorry for this review but this is how I truly felt. And after reading other reviews I realized that I wasn't the only one who experienced the same. read more

MyEyeDr on Wisconsin Ave in Washington, DC is incompetent, rude, inefficient and ineffective. It is anything but customer centered. I have been a "patient" for about 6 (!!!!) months and still do not have either my prescribed sun nor reading glasses. Repeated visits yield another put off, repeated texts received say "glasses are ready for pick up" only to go to the store and be shown the lenses but the frames are not in! When questioned on this on 2 separate occasions I am told, " you will get another email when your frames are ready" Is the client to carry lenses in my briefcase!!! And with all the inconvenience, NO ONE has ever said, " Sorry for the inconvenience " NEVER! Never again. First you call to make an appointment but they refuse to take insurance information at that time--state someone else will call for that. Then they call not once, not twice, but three times in one day to get this information. I do not have the luxury of chatting on the phone during work hours. I gladly give them the information when I have a free moment and Mohammad states if he has any trouble verifying coverage--he will call me. Great. I get a text a few hours later verifying my appt time. I arrive....they actually have not verified my coverage. So while waiting for a process I thought was done previously, it is discovered I need to contact my insurance company. Which means I am now bumped out of my appt spot I have planned my day around. Thanks for the poor customer service and thank you for blowing up my phone all day yesterday for absolutely no reason. Stellar. Do not worry--I will never be returning. read more
