My oldest son is a long time glasses wearer. We were on vacation 2+ hours from home when we discussed his need for contacts. His glasses were broken, and we were preparing for surf lessons at the beach. We quickly made a same day appointment online, and we headed to the location. We arrived just before his appointment, but staff advised us the doctor fell a bit behind schedule that day. We browsed frames, & my son went back a few minutes later. I spoke with the doctor in passing and informed her my son had ASD. We discussed him previously having contacts, but a few years passed since he last had them. She took me back to the room as well in case my son needed "backup." After his exam, the doctor set up my son to try a pair of trial contacts. The first time he ever tried contacts was in the office of a different national chain optometrist. He spent nearly an hour fighting to put in the lens while the staff spoke shortly & rudely towards him. We ended up leaving that location and trying again the next day. This experience at MyEyeDoctor was entirely different. The staff and Doctor Rogers spoke with him kindly, quietly, and calmly. When he experienced difficulties, they all encouraged him gently. When he succeeded after maybe 15 minutes of trying, the staff & doctors all cheered for him. He was so proud. We also ordered his glasses while we were there. Because we live out of town, they shipped his glasses to our local MyEyeDoctor. Everyone was helpful and kind during our time here. We will definitely recommend this location again. read more

It has taken this location awhile to finally get a permanent dr and with the disorganization and lack of customer service that their front office staff provides, I doubt the dr will stay long. I started going here for the lower prices and replacement lenses if you order a years worth. As it turns out they just order samples. Any provider can do this. Three times I had to drive there to pick up lenses b/c they failed to ship them as instructed. They are a franchise. Send them an email and the person you are dealing with doesn't get it for hours b/c email has to go through a central office. God only knows who has access to it. Most recently I received an email on a Saturday that the lenses, that were supposed to be urgently drop shipped to my house at my expense, were ready for pickup at the franchise office many miles away. Guess what? This franchise office is closed on Saturdays. AND on Mondays. It took me 3 days to get my urgently needed lenses. The front office people don't care. I will never buy here again read more

No problem with the staff we have been going there for years but.... Not customer focused. We have a family of 4 at home right now but we are not able to schedule more then 2 appts a day per family.... Just crazy! I cant take 2 days off work just for eye appts. They also will not do contact appts the last appt of the day. Zero stars for customer service. They should really rethink how to take care of the customers. read more

This location is horrible. Poor customer service. I made an apt. for my Dad via the internet because they don't answer phones. Luckily I was able to get through to a rep two weeks after I made the apt to verify his insurance and apt date. I showed up to day and they tell us that they cancelled his apt because he did not answer the phone to verify his apt. Why does he need to verify his apt? Especially if they already talked to me and verified his insurance? You shouldn't cancel a patients apt because they don't answer the phone, they should have left a voicemail so he could call back, even though they never answer their phones. Thanks for wasting our time, we drove all the way from Green Cove Springs for this horrible service. Never Again. read more

Took the money out of my account for a visit and it was "never registered in their system as a payment". I had to call my bank, asked for statements, sent it over to their corporate office and even with that they didn't want to confirm that the payment went through. The eye doctor I saw on my first visit at the Orange Park Office (near the red lobster) was the only reason I gave them a second try. The front office staff and lack of professionalism speaks volumes. Unfortunately, I did not make it to see the doctor the second time because I refuse to deal with the front desk staff. I called back after leaving to voice my concerns and asked to speak to the office manager and lets say I understand the failure overall starts there. If there was a negative star I would select it. Stay away from this office (just my fair warning). I found 2 other eye exam places down the street who offered much better front desk service and treatment. Go there instead and save frustration!!! I rarely give reviews or recommendations but my experience was just that bad! Better day to all! The doctor was good but the front desk needs professional training. This business that specializes in eyes doesn't care that they're messing with my daughters vision. ordered contacts for my daughter on April 1. 365 pairs she changes them daily. I ordered a years worth. They said they would come to my house within three days. It has now been three weeks and I have no contacts. I have called numerous times. I've been told that they ordered them twice. They were supposed to be in last Saturday then it was this past Wednesday then it was today nobody is calling me back nobody is explaining where they are. I was an established patient who wanted to schedule annual exam appointments for myself and my two children. As a matter of convenience, I wanted to get them all done on the same day, but I was told I could only schedule two family members on any given day because "if you don't show up, we'll lose an hour and a half of time." I understand time is money, but perhaps they could charge a no-show fee when someone blows off an appointment, rather than make it more difficult for working families to schedule appointments. Needless to say, we'll find a more customer-focused provider. read more

It has been a year of experiences with this office and the staff. I got a pair of glasses in Jan 23. The lens kept falling out. I took them back; staff 'tightened up the screw.' She stated the screw was just loose from where they shipped. The lens fell out again. I took them back. This time, they wanted to again just tighten the screw. I informed them that I tighted the screw all the time, but they still fell apart. After much back and forth and damn near begging, they took the glasses back and got a replacement pair. The same thing happened to the new set of glasses. The new glasses were apparently not under warranty, so the staff went to the display case, got a frame like mine, and put my glasses in the already used frames. These too kept falling apart. Returned and got a pair of glasses off the rack with a heated debate on what I needed. It was a horrible experience. I made an appointment for Jan 24. Showed up to the appointment and they had cancelled it - like people are saying - because we didn't confirm our appointment on the phone. I should not have to verify an appointment. I do not have a history of missing appointments. I will NEVER EVER return to this store or this company. I would have given -5 stars if that was an option. Their store hours are not generally customer focused and that bleeds down into their staff - not very customer oriented, so I choose not to ever be a customer here again. STAY AWAY. read more

This is the worst eye care I have ever experienced. I had been overseas and caught pink eye. I was treated in the foreign country and wanted to make sure that I was cured. The Dr. told me I was cured and then prescribed another antibiotic. He had me come back for a full exam a few weeks later. Then the Dr. told me he had me use the antibiotic to help with tear flow. I did not and do not have dry eye or a problem with tear flow. After they dilated my eyes I had to ask for the dark plastic glasses to protect my eyes. Every other eye Dr. office gave me the glasses and told me to wear then for several hours. At this office you have to ask for them or you don't get them. Then there is the issue of the prescription drug. They should not have given me this because I didn't need it. Of course they charged me $ 30 for it. The result was that the pressure test of eyes went up since the first visit (was it caused by the antibiotic ? Some eye ointments state that over use can cause this). I purchased the ointment there and when I found out it was covered by my Medicare part D, I was sent a form to get a reimbursement. I brought the form over to the Eye Center and asked them to fill in the medical and pharmacy information. They informed me that they are not a pharmacy and they did not fill in any of the information even though I asked them to fill in as much of it as they could. (If they are not a licensed pharmacy, why are they dispensing prescription drugs ?) . Before the eye Dr. came in they examined my current glasses and then put the machine that you look through to check your eyes against the eye chart. I told her that I did not want a prescription for glasses and the technician told me that I was not getting a prescription (I knew they charged $ 35 for this). When I was leaving they told me I owe them $ 35 for the refraction (eye glass prescription). I told them I had told the technician I didn't want that. They said, "It is required as part of all exams." Then they went on to tell me that it was already sent to their optical department and I was to go over there and buy new glasses. Needless to say, I didn't pay the $ 35 and I did not buy glasses there. In conclusion, they sold me medicine I did not need. they tried to charge for a refraction that I said I didn't want (and it wasn't even performed professionally) and when it came time to assisting me in getting a refund for my prescription they could not be bothered filling int he form that would help me get some of my money back from insurance. I would have to say that if you care about the quality of service and you don't want to be sold things you don't want or need, then I suggest that you get eye care somewhere else. I will never go back there again. read more

I scheduled an appointment with this place over 2 weeks ago. I drove an hour to the office just to be told my appointment was canceled. The office staff told me they called multiple times and left voicemails but I have no missed calls or voicemails and I also got a confirmation email for my appointment TWO DAYS AGO which I confirmed. They finished with a "we can get you rescheduled in September." This place is a joke and completely unprofessional. read more

I would give them zero stars if I could. I have had to reschedule my appointment three times because they didn't have contact appointment available on the day their website let me schedule. I arrived two mins past the grace period and I was advised that I am not allowed my appointment and to reschedule. I have two jobs and three kids. it's hard to get a sitter and I was available the other three appointment. I am a new patient and I must say their store hours are not customer focused. I had glasses made and went their twice but they were closed. Finally picked up my glasses. I needed further corrections so I dropped in on Friday afternoon but they closed at 5. Then read closed til Monday!!!! Not very customer friendly. They do have random longer hours but you have to look it up. I don't understand why they don't stay open late on Friday if they are closed the following two days. Not very helpful if you work . Otherwise the folks were pleasant and text you when RX are in. Update, they have been working towards getting a resolution for some lens problems. They actually let me in 15 minutes after closing to accommodate me. They close different times during the week but they were helpful. read more

I couldn't have picked a better place for our eye care. My husband and I came the other day for our annual eye exams (found them through our insurance.) The young girl who did our initial eye screenings was friendly and funny, and made us feel comfortable. Dr. Hossenlopp was easy to talk to, friendly and very knowledgeable, and the woman who helped us with our purchase of contact lenses was very patient and friendly. It's a shame we are moving in 2 weeks but we will definitely be taking our business to another location in Maryland. Thank you for making it such an easy and enjoyable experience! read more

I had a horrible experience with this store. I found the staff unhelpful in many ways. First, I called and was given inaccurate info. I even tried to stop by the store in person. It was a half an hour before closing. A staff member was visible inside the store. There appeared to be no other customers or possibly staff in the store. Employee was just sitting inside looking out at us. Initially, she would not come to the door during open hours. We sat outside and waited through the whole long phone options before she came to the door. Then she said we couldn't come in now and we could make an appointment. When I attempted to clarify inaccurate information I was given over the phone, she repeated it. I had verified the information with my insurance provider and knew it was wrong. She portrayed what is their policy as a truth of how insurance is processed. I would have liked to have given my business to the neighborhood store and have two family members in need of glasses. I was intending to purchase 3 to 4 pairs of glasses. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more
