I was here for one of my girl's birthday's and I was amazed by the look of this place! The buffet table is literally never-ending! It starts at forever and ends at never! The all you can eat is not just tasteful and keeps you wanting to fill your plate, but the choices are endless! Usually vegetarians have this problem at buffets of having less vegeterian options, but Nawaab has looked out for all the Veggie loversout there! It's very unlike the Chinese buffets where you can expect the food to be non-monitored hence being a victim to dirty hands and all things unpleasant. Here, the food is fresh from the kitchen which is right behind the buffet counter and fresh, hot food is constantly being poured into the very fast emptying vessels. The desserts are an arrayof options from Indian/Pakistani delights to ice-creams and cakes. The ten quid for the buffet is definitely worth every bit. It does justice to you in terms of taste, variety and quantity. So, thinking of celebrating with a massive banquet? Nawaab is your stop.

When you walk in you are asked to seat at a small coffee table bearing Bombay mix then ushered to.a table. The furniture is swish, with cream leather seats and sturdy tables. Opening a new looking menu it contained the same exciting variety as last time ;). For seafood lovers you can choose from lobster, salmon, sea bass and prawns. For veggies they offer standard veggie dishes to some special Himalayan ones..And for meat eaters the world is your Oyster! We ordered two pints of kingfisher and starters only, wanting to take our time. So two poppdums and daal soup later and we were happy ;) the dips accompanying the poppdums were well made , they consisted of generic mango chutney, lime pickle , raita and a curry sauce. The soup was of perfect consistency .. Potentially a dash more of lemon was required. Starters gone I then chose the curried seabass, rice and chappati. Himself selected the chicken curry. The sea bass was one of the most expensive dishes but when it arrived sizzling on a hotplate I was pleased. On the side it came with a gorgeous veggie curry sauce. The portions were massive unlike some places you go that offer no more than a sliver of fish. Even digesting this with red wine I waved the white flag at half way point. To end we were given segments of orange and the bill. Everything was reasonably.priced, well made and the service attentive. I had the feeling they were offended when we kept telling them we weren't ready to order the main but again we did it so we were not rushed. Honestly try this place I much prefer it to Akbar's

They take reservations and your table will be ready. The food is outstanding. I'm taking my daughter to England this weekend (we are from Florida) and this is literally on our agenda the weekend we get in. The food is so flavorful and delicious. It's best to go with a lot of people so you can try a bit of everything! We loved everything we tried but the chicken tikka masala with the sweet naan with the honey is the best! We can't wait to have dinner there!!!

From the outside it looks like any other Indian place and once you get inside it's again pretty standard. The difference is the menu and the quality of the food. I had a really excellent fish pakora to start and then one of the chef's specials as a main. The naan bread (the make or break element of a curry for me) was perfect so I was very happy. It was really busy and people were being turned away on a Thursday evening which is always a sign of good food. As a result I'd recommend booking a table in advance. You can get the metrolink to Altrincham then a taxi down to Hale or the train goes all the way there. This place really stands out from some of the samey average/poor curry houses in south Manchester.

The restaurant is much fancier than I expected, and we were seated in a comfortable booth. Following Raam S's excellent review and recommendations, we all opted for a thali which is fantastic value at £8.99. I got the Gujarati thali and it's one of the best things I've eaten this year. All the components were absolutely delicious, the stand outs being okra (which i thought I wasn't going to be like) and the rich aubergine. The sweet was orange but I wasn't sure whether it was carrot. The only thing I didn't like was that most of the thali was served quite cold. I'm not generally that bothered about things being absolutely piping hot, but it would be better if it were heated properly. We got some other dishes too, the mysori dosa was extremely good (as also recommended by Raam) although as Emily said we weren't sure exactly what to do with the sauce - will have to ask next time! The other two things we tried we weren't so keen on (paneer and doughnuts). Basically I would say stick to the thali and the dosa. I would definitely recommend this place and it's worth the trip.

In my last review I told you we were planning to go there. Guess what! :D…read more We ordered a Mysore Masala Dosa and the Dhokla. I will leave the dhokla aside by saying it was very good and move on to the Mysore Masala Dosa. There are variations on the dosa theme and masala dosa is one of those variants. However the way in which this is prepared in different parts in South India is different. Madras and Mysore refer to what the states were called all those centuries ago as opposed to the cities that they are now. For example if you were to visit Chennai (Madras), you will get a simple potato based masala inside the dosa. Whereas in Mysore region, where I come from, the inner surface of the dosa is smeared with a sweet/spicy onion chutney before the spicy potato masala gets filled in it. Apologies if the history/geography lesson dragged on for a bit. So, the dosa was the right colour throughout (starting with a slightly dark tinge of brown at the centre and gradually fading into beige as you go radiallly outward), had pretty decent texture, (crispier towards the circumference and softer as you come radially inward) and tasted just about spot-on. It wasn't very greasy either. I also got the onion chutney with it, which was yum! The potato masala was generous in terms of quantity and flavoursome. It took me back home! The winner on the night however was the Punjabi thali that my wife ordered. Thali is a little like a tapas and a little like our sunday roast, but nothing like either. In Hindi and most other Indian languages, the word thali simply means a plate. The thali dish is essentially a reasonably big plate with about anywhere between 5-8 cups, some of which contain a curry, one has yougurt/curd one with buttermilk and one with dal usually. One usually gets a decent portion of rice or a roti, which is the main dish. The individual items on the thali were all well prepared and delicious. The portions were generous and very filling too. Definitely worth a recommendation. As with everywhere else, I sincerely hope they continue to maintain their excellence.
