Despite a very busy & challenging opening day of trading, My Mistress cafe still delivered a satisfying all day breakfast menu, well brewed Genovese coffee & refreshing choose-your-own juices (perfect for such a hot day).
In the face of extreme humidity & an overwhelming number of new customers, the staff at My Mistress, handled themselves well. Sure, there were some long wait times & perhaps more tables or seating required but this will improve over time & a little patience from the general public will go a long way, in these first few days.
We liked that the all day breakfast menu is a nice & simple offering with something for everybody. Including gluten free, & other dietary requirements available in request. They also make fresh baked goodies in house daily.
Fittingly, My Mistress aptly categorises the menu as "Cheeky Flings" (for the simpler Toast, Fruit Loafs & Acai bowls $5-$10), "Main Affairs" (for the more substantial items $12-$18), & "On the side", for more extras like mushrooms, bacon, feta etc ($4.50).
We had the:
(1) Eggs Marilyn (organic caramelised onion & caraway rye, free range fried eggs, margaret river smoked ham, wilted spinach topped with creamy hollandaise sauce $17)
(2) Eggs Monica (free range scrambled eggs on a corn zucchini fritter, blistered cherry tomatoes & a seasoned avocado smash $17)
(3) Head Mistress (Baked free range eggs with house made spicy beans, sour cream & cheesy bread $18) plus extra chorizos.
(4) Orange, pineapple, apple & ginger juice. ($6.50)
All our dishes were delicious, & were very filling! Looking forward to coming back again soon, perhaps in a few months time to see how things have progressed since opening. read more
