Specialties
We use the Seed Crystal design method to create your spectacular outdoor environment.
My Ground provides a comprehensive design service in the areas of landscaping and outdoor construction home owners, contractors, and architects. I help to crystallize your ideas into a holistic design that melds your aesthetic and functional needs with the technical considerations of the projects.
Inspiring design elements include beautiful gathering spaces and deck/patio areas, hot tub environments, decorative screening and sightline management, water and fire features, inviting home entryways, and integrated plant selections. Technical considerations include precision grading, retaining wall systems, roadway and parking needs, drainage management, soil stability, utilities access, etc.
For each project I provide a detailed set of plans that includes the overall layout plan, sub-project details with dimensions, and schedules of important materials. For contractors I provide a sequence of construction as necessary and follow-up support. For architects I will provide scaled drawings in the format of your choice.
We can build your project or we can work with your contractor of choice. We immerse ourselves with the transformative nature of this work and produce a high level of quality in our finished creations. Our completed projects are beautiful, romantic, and surprising, as well as functional, organized, and durable.
History
Established in 1993.
My training prior to opening My Ground was in both landscaping and construction. In 1993 I started this company and in 1996 I became a California contractor with the C27 Landscaping classification.
I have always been interested in design and architecture and much of the landscape development that I have done is in the hardscaping arena. We do a lot of softscaping as well, such as planting and irrigation, but I sure love the design and orchestration of the various elements of a beautiful and functional landscape.
Meet the Business Owner: Mark T.
My first love was for architecture and engineering. When I first worked for a landscape company I found that the balance of art and engineering, planning and implementation, construction and landscaping very much appealed to my interests and skill set. While building my landscaping business, my extra curricular training has been quite varied. It has included business development, music, medical, and martial arts - all of which adds to the depth of my landscape design vision.
