Update (7/4/2024): In response to MGAG, I don't consider 8 months to be a "very long time" for a fence, they did manage to submit to my HOA and were rejected, resulting in me doing it all over, and I did receive a text about material delivery but again, how is blocking garage(s) acceptable? Regarding warranty, how can MGAG replace all nails, as all are bleeding? Why should I have problems with bleeding nails in an 8-month "very" old fence? We liked the project manager, Steve Wichlin, because he was very clear about what needed to happen and had mastered the many details and was able to get them out of the way. We signed the contract, and then the new owner who had come back from abroad returned and called us asking for a 20% increase, after we had a signed contract for a month. Naturally this made everyone nervous and we released them from the contract and did not re-sign. read more

I requested Garage and Gates to send a technician out to see why my iron gate was not working. He failed to show up. Three days later, someone called me to reschedule. Since the company requires a $150 payment before sending someone out for a diagnosis, I had already paid them through Zelle. I was told that a second technician would be at my home at 1:00. He again failed. When I called the company, the woman answering the phone, said a technician would be there at 1:00. He did not show up. When I again called around 1:30, she checked with the technician who said he would be there in an hour. He finally showed up two hours late. After he arrived, he failed to let me know he had come. (The manager later informed me they instruct their technicians not to speak to homeowners). The manager then sent me a quote for $1,500 to install a new gate arm, but agreed, after I had to inquire, to reduce that amount by the $150 diagnosis fee, to $1,350. I then called two other highly rated gate repair companies who quoted me $1,000 to do the same repair. Perhaps this company has done excellent work in the past, but from my experience, they seemed stressed, overworked, forgetful, and over priced. I would never use them again. read more

To provide an update: The project manager just called after learning about the review and was genuinely asking questions to better understand my frustration and try to resolve the situation. I really appreciate that he made the effort to reach out. It's possible my experience could be the exception to the rule (as they have pretty overwhelming positive reviews). My recommendation would be if you're going to work with them be as specific as possible about what you want, communicate clearly, and actively monitor the project the whole way through. I will say they remained professional throughout the process and even after my original review they were still working to make it right. That's not something you find every day. Not happy at first when they installed a motor that was not powerful enough to open/close my heavy gate. They replaced the motor but then the gate slammed against the fence when it opened. The first guy they sent was clueless but after $3500 I stayed on it. On the third time, they sent a young man whose name i do not remember and he was on it. Got it fixed and got it fixed the first time he looked at it. He was polite, professional and apologetic. Give that yound man a raise. At any rate, we had a rough start but the point is they stayed on it until it was right and has been working perfectly ever since. I recommend MGAG highly. read more

Responds quickly and does a very professional job. They installed a double driveway gate opener and ot has worked very well. Then yesterday it stopped in the open position. I have two dogs who would have gotten out so we left them indoors. I called to request service and explained the dog issue and they arrived in about 2 hours. They diagnosed the problem and fixed it, even though it was more complex than expected. They even fixed a problem at my request on another gate that they had not installed. Update: I don't normally write reviews, never in my life have I written a second or updated one but that's how angry I am at this company. It's been 3.5 months since the nightmare that was my fence install. The paint on the metal is chipping off and there is rust forming in multiple places. The lock they badly installed that was catching now doesn't work properly at all. Multiple neighbors have made comments about my upside down 8, I've got screws so rusted I can't tighten them properly to the wood. I'm now having to look for another fence company to redo the entire thing. Thinking about taking Ty and his crew to court. Save yourself the pain and financial losses and find another company to work with. original review: From start to finish my experience with this company was a complete nightmare. Multiple promises that went unfulfilled, when they did show up to work it was always after 230 in the afternoon. The overall product looks very pretty but wasn't what I originally asked for. One of my door numbers is upside down. The workers trespassed onto my neighbors land after they were told multiple times they couldn't walk onto his lot. Not only did they trespass but they damage his property too. Communication was nonexistent, the office girl and "project managers" clearly didn't talk to each other and said/promised different things. When the owner Finally came out to talk about the project he gave me every excuse in the book as to why things were done the way they were and churched it up very well, nothing was their fault. Big talk about cost and how much work goes into it all. The guy straight up lied to my face and told me the metal was all powder coated but it's not, the mental is painted and already has chips and scuff/pealing marks on it less than 5 days after install. I got two other quotes for fences that were $1300-1700 cheaper than my garage and gates but I went with them because I thought their product was superior and I was told I would have an English speaker on the project which was another lie. I sadly couldn't communicate with the guys they sent out to my house and spent half the first day going back and forth over my iPhones for translations. They charged me $600 for a $183 lock that doesn't work properly. If it hadn't been for the 50% deposit I would have canceled the entire project and switched to another fencing company when they failed to show up five days in a row after promising they would. The overall project may look pretty but it definitely isn't worth 6k, I could have gotten the same then for less without all the headaches. read more

I called them on Monday. They responded on Tuesday and asked for pictures which I sent right away. I got an estimate and accepted it. Someone was out on Thursday to check for underground lines. They came on Friday and did the work replacing the rusted out supports around my gates and the rusted hinges. Their work looks great and has held up. read more

I called to have a garage door spring replaced. They were I line with others and quite timely in coming to give a free estimate. They suggested that both be replaced, which I had planned on doing. They inspected my opener and door and said that though older (20yrs that I know of) all was still operating sufficiently. I appreciate the fact that they didn't try to sell me more than I needed and that their customer service is exceptional. After feeling let down by our Management Cie, my fellow HOA members and I took matters into our own hands to find a professional gate company that would help us solve the many issues we were having with our out-of-order entry system and problematic entry gate. We picked a cloud-based entry system that is more complicated to install than a regular one as it requires internet at the gate/a phone line etc... Work on the gate started a day earlier than scheduled. Had it not been for a tropical depression that week, it would have started even sooner.
