She was extremely rude to my son and this is where I informed her that her rudeness was not necessary. I was, then, informed that I should look elsewhere for a driving school. To be fair, I find the whole learning to drive process confusing. Perhaps, she finds that annoying. I had a lot of questions. I also came prepared with all the necessary paperwork and certifications. I felt as though I was respectful, but when she was belittling my son, I felt it was my job to let her know that was enough. My son stood by me, did not speak much. When questions were asked, it took him awhile to think and answer. Maybe he took too much time, but again this process is new to us. Calling a child deaf and mute is completely inappropriate.

They answered all of my questions with ease, and my my decision to sign up for their program without any hesitation. They also had a promotion at this time, so I lucked out with paying a little less than their original price. At first the 6-hour online class seemed a bit dreadful, but in hind sight it was extremely helpful and I learned a lot. I took my lessons, and passed my DPS driving test through Safeway all within a month. I would suggest Safeway to all new drivers, and recommend Nagib as an instructor! Will Thornton was the instructor for the DPS driving test and taught me new tricks and tips even in my last session before the driving test. At Safeway, you have an option to book an hour session for your DPS driving test. You get a 45 minute refresher session and get tested in the last 15 minutes. But whether you are a teen driver, adult driver, nervous driver or whatever, I can honestly tell you that Mr. Dan Heredia from Colony Driving School (CDS) is the best. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Below is the short version followed by a detailed review if you're interested. Pros: flexible, punctual, cost-effective, encouraging, pick-up/drop off service, great parallel parking technique Cons: none Mr. Heredia is a great instructor. He is patient and a godsend for new or nervous drivers. He makes you feel confident while still improving your driving methods. He is punctual, understanding and very encouraging. Mr. Heredia takes pride in his work and it shows. I have driven a total of 22 hours in my ENTIRE life and 16 of those were with him. I always felt comfortable and felt that he valued me, my business and really wanted me to learn. He was never in a rush to just get it over with. What I loved about CDS is that they understood that since I work and don't drive, I could not come to their office to fill out forms. Rafael (who also works at CDS) told me to just have my permit on the first day and we would fill out the forms on the first lesson! When I initially called to purchase the 6 hr package, Rafael outlined what to expect for each lesson- turns, parallel parking, DPS practice drives etc. As a Type A personality, I love knowing what to expect and having a game plan! After the 6 hours were completed I was not pressured to purchase additional lessons. Dan said I was ready for the drive test but I decided to purchase more lessons since I had (and still have) little experience and wanted to feel more comfortable behind the wheel especially with parallel parking. (The parallel parking instructions that Dan offers are worth every penny. He even sets up the cones like DPS!!) He gave additional helpful tips about how to be a good driver and what errors to avoid when taking the DPS drive test. Above all, he was very professional, courteous and genuine. I mean, I'm…read morepositive more than anyone, but I think that defensive driving is probably far worse than just having those points on your license for three years. Until I found this place. It's super cool, super laid back and Brit (the instructor) is funny and knows how to get things done. This class almost flew by, sort of. I mean, if it hadn't been for her I would have passed out is all I'm saying. If I have to go into a class to take defensive driving, this is the one I would choose every time. Six hours and, yeah, you're almost comatose from the common info that you should know if you've been driving any amount of time. It helps on the final test, though. Super fun, easy class that is informative too. What more could you ask for. The only thing I think could have used a little more solemnity was when they were talking about organ donation. I don't think there's really a place for jokes there even in a comedy setting. One of my good friends had a double transplant and I'm so thankful for her every day of my life. To emphasize organ donation instead of sort of mocking it (I get it, I get it, it's a comedy class) would be much more beneficial, in my opinion. This meant I needed to take a road test, as an adult with 24 yrs of driving experience, 8 yrs of military and federal "motor vehicle operator's" ID, and no Class C road test appointments available for over 2 weeks at DPS. I immediately took a look on yelp, calling the Top 3 based on most reviewed in my area. Tony of Road Ready Driving School was the only licensed third-party testing center that answered. The Road Test @ Road Ready was fairly priced and time slots were available during the week. I was nervous, but competently confident. Tony was a genuine professional, and provided excellent feedback and answers to any question I had. At the end of the Road Test, he asked me about decisions I made while driving a vehicle I'm unfamiliar with and choices I made regarding why I considered not turning right on a red when I was allowed to do so. I saw he respected the logic that if you cannot see far enough down the lane you're turning into to gauge the safety of committing to the change of vehicle position, then it's best to, in my words, "hold what you've got, and commit when it is safe to do so." When my children are ready for official non-parental driving lessons, Tony is the only person I'm gladly calling because I know they will not only learn a thing or two, but also gain the confidence in the decisions they make and the reason behind their choices. KC, Larry and Tony gave me lessons over the course of 9 months to prepare me with basic skills and help grow my confidence on the road. We started with no gas in a parking lot and slowly progressed to road driving. I found each of the instructors to be patient, courteous and knowledgeable. Lessons were always easy to schedule and Amanda at the front desk was helpful when any changes needed to be made. Prior to taking the test, Tony helped me perfect my parallel parking skills and took me on the test route multiple times to help me feel at ease. He also gave me encouragement day of the test to calm the nerves. I passed on my first try! Overall, I could not recommend this school more and will forever be grateful to them for helping me reach this milestone.

As you can imagine, it is difficult to get children to practice playing their instrument on a regular basis, but Maureen Owiti and her teachers instill in them a sense of commitment and a love for their instrument. She emphasizes that the opportunity to learn how to play an instrument is a gift from their parents that students should be grateful to receive. She also stresses to them that playing an instrument will ultimately make them better students ( which the research does support) and more disciplined adults. My 14 year old daughter has been reaping the benefits of learning to play an instrument for quite a while now and has really come to appreciate the fact that she can play the piano! As a parent, what I really look forward to are the recitals which is a great opportunity to see the broad range of skill-levels represented in the school - from beginner to advance. It has also helped my children to be more confident at school when they have to give a presentation, since they have to play their piece on a stage in front of a fairly large audience (parents, grandparents etc.) Overall, I have no reservations about recommending this school as a great place to learn an instrument.
