Bri and the other two ladies(I didn't get their name) provided excellent service during her eye exam and contact lens recommendations.

I can't say enough good things about Kaluzne Vision Care... they are amazing!…read more I originally selected Dr. Kaluzne and his team because they were the only optometrist in the Winston Salem area to offer Optomap, a digital health picture of your eye that is saved and allows them to compare changes between visits. Well worth the small extra fee. When I first started using contact lenses they included some much needed, hands on lessons on putting them on. They reached out to me a few days later to see how things were going. When they learned I was still struggling they asked me to come back in so they could give me some pointers and practice with them watching. SO helpful! They are dedicated to outstanding customer/patient service. From their overall demeanor to their willingness to help with insurance to their happy personas... they make every visit to the eye doctor a pleasant experience. Their dedication to quality is noticeable as you enter the building too... super clean and well kept with nothing out of place. Twice now I've developed eye infections over the last few years. Both times, despite being on a Friday, they were able to work me in for a quick medical visit and get me prescription drops so I would be good as new by Monday.

Due to the pandemic, you are required to call and make an appointment, they will not let you in the building without one. Mask are required & sanitizer is spread out throughout the store. Now as far as service goes, the gentleman on the phone who made my appointment was not too friendly and seemed to be in a rush. Maybe they were busy, I get it. Day of my appointment, the one woman who was helping customers had me sit at the same desk as the people who just left (literally), so no sanitation of seating here. I wasn't able to get my glasses because my perception was on my phone. (They do not accept virtual perceptions) But you are allowed to get your prescription faxed to the store. I'm also getting lenses because I have frames I want to use. I think those two things turned the woman helping me off because once I said those things she got up gave me the card to get my prescription faxed & just started walking to the door (mind you I'm still sitting down at the desk) I had more questions to ask. So I got up asked her while she basically escorted me out the store. Then stopped at the door and started telling me more information. Ma'am! Why didn't we just go over all that when we were sitting down. Didn't ask if I had anymore questions or if there was something else she can help me with. I didn't feel like my services were wanted there. It's weird cause I received lenses for my frames here before (frames I did not buy with them again) and the experience was a lot different. I'm now re-thinking my decision and I might go some where else. They get a 3 star for the CDC regulations, but their customer service really needs some work.

Where else can you still feed a family of four for about $10 or less? The food isn't top tier obviously and the counter worker had a minor conniption because he had to make us three sundaes at once, but he managed to persevere through his complaints of exploitation. On weekends when we are between trips and trying to save some dough but our kids don't feel like they had a 'day off' unless they eat a meal prepared by someone other than me, this has become my go-to. "Let's go to Sam's for lunch" is met with cheers and celebration and so for that, I am grateful.

Bottomless drink and a huge slice of good pizza. Now granted, timing is everything because the line for ordering can be quite long. We opt for mobile ordering and skip with long lines and waiting. 10/10 for mobile ordering food here. The pizza is very good. Plenty of toppings and always cooked right. Love it. As far as the shopping experience goes, it's hit and miss. They usually have what we need. My biggest issue are the other customers. Not all of them just the ones who have no manners or rudely park themselves in the middle of an aisle successfully stopping the flow of shopping traffic in BOTH directions at the same time. Also, you'd think people hadn't eaten in a week how they hawk any and all free samples to like it's the Hunger Games. If you can grit your teeth and ignore the stupidity around you, you can get some great deals and stock up. We love the rotisserie chickens. I get a ton of pulled chicken as well as make 3 quarts of bone broth all for only $4.98. You need this. The store is fairly clean but it IS a warehouse venue. I also champion the "scan and go" app to avoid the long checkout lines and it's exactly how it sounds. I'm you scan your own items, pay online and proceed to the exit. If your receipt and cart gets checked buttons a minor thing compared to standing behind someone in line with $800 worth of stuff in their cart. All in all I do look forward to our trips here. The staff has always been friendly and the shelves are well stocked. If you have kids and want to save money, this is a good place to start.

So, I reluctantly tried LensCrafters, knowing that they're on the pricey side for glasses. It turns out that the self-pay price for an eye exam is $139, which isn't bad at all. The two staff members were really friendly and thorough with my eyes. They have a form at the beginning that asks whether you want dilation or not, so it's up to you if you want to skip that, which I did. That was nice. When I was done, they handed me my prescription, and they weren't pushy at all about whether or not I wanted to look at their glasses.

I always try to get Jamie to help me when I go in. She's very experienced and knowledgeable. If you stop in, tell her David sent you! No, I do not get a commission for that, and I don't even think their sales staff work on commission. Just happy to give props to someone who has provided great service over a number of years.

Confession: Ever since I was thirteen and got my first pair of glasses, I have disliked going to…read morethe eye doctor. I had a pretty traumatic experience with the doctor barking instructions at me and manhandling me (in front of my mom and my cousins, no less), going through endless eye exercises, waking up the next day with one pupil still dilated and finally the receptionist threatening to scream if my mom and I didn't leave in five minutes, when we went back to pick up my new glasses. So, yeah. Could you blame me for feeling that way about eye exams and visits to the eye doctor? Well, I'm happy to report that my experience today was dramatically different from all the others, and the polar opposite of my very first visit to an optometrist. The facility is quite beautiful, and the entire staff was very friendly and accomodating, including the doctor I saw today, Dr. Leslie Dunn. All of my questions were answered and Dr. Dunn was kind enough to take a look at my irises to check them for irregularities (she assured me there were none). Best of all, the entire appointment was nice and quick -- no multiple endless series of tests with five-minute breaks inbetween like that first experience (my other experiences with different doctors, of course, haven't quite been like that, either, but they were otherwise meh and forgettable, with me wishing it would be over). I am sooooooo happy my eyecarecenter appointment today was easy-breezy and pleasant! I hope all my future appointments are just as nice.

But the practice as a…read morewhole has gotten kind of smarmy over the past few years, with high-pressure sales tactics and questionable billing. This year's exam was the final straw for me. In my pre-exam session, I was asked, as usual, about having the eye scan that costs $39 and isn't paid by insurance. I declined the scan. The person in charge of the session, who was training a new employee at the computer, tried to get me to have the scan because it had been 2 years since my last one. Again, I declined it. Then she said, "Well the dr wants everyone to get the scan for our records, but the charge is only for reading the scan." Fine, take the scan but I declined the reading. So tell me why I was charged for having the scan read?! I never saw that image and the dr never went over it with me. I saw the charge on my bill after I got home and called the office, but had to leave a message. They never called me back, so I went over there two weeks later. The manager had the nerve to tell me that my scan was read and the dr went over it with me. She didn't even have the decency to say this lie to my face, she told someone else to tell me. When I disputed their lie, they told me I have to call their billing company (even though I paid my bill in the doctor's office. I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt by assuming the trainee had made a mistake, but now it seems they just intend to rip people off. Now I'm stuck in an endless loop of people denying responsibility.
