This place is located in Montgomery technically but is right next to Conroe you can see the lake driving up it was so beautiful. It's a prohibition style speakeasy with the hidden door and the ambiance is so beautiful inside with an amazing bar and just a great vibe. We loved how the waitresses were dressed in dresses from the time it was so classy and fun. And we went on a night they had live music and it was sooo good. Now let's talk about the drinks there were so many choices of cocktails bourbon whiskey you name it. I let the waitress pick mine it was something with pear and it was yummy. We both loved our drinks. My husband loved his old fashion. The food was absolutely delicious we enjoyed the crab toast and lamb lollipop and the Chilean sea bass which were all to die for. Oh and Lavendar creme brûlée for dessert. We met Rob and his wife the owners who are the nicest people and now we can't wait to come back with friends to salsa night. If you're looking for a nice dinner spot with great drinks food and music on certain nights just the best service you have to come try this location you won't be disappointed. It made our anniversary special.

Our waitress was admittedly new, but when our food arrived an hour and a half later, it was so disappointing. Three of us ordered ribeyes, and none of them were cooked to our order; plus, they were charred on the bottom & sides. The wagyu burger was burned as well. We also ordered a bottle of wine, but the first 3 choices were out of stock!? Really? Our choice was to jump into a $60.00 or $80.00 bottle. The service team never checked in on how our food tasted or how we were doing. It's like they knew that they ruined our dinner and experience. About this, they call it a speakeasy because the doorway is a bookcase that is as obvious as the nose on your face. The dude hosting the stand at the door, did not even ask if we enjoyed ourselves. For these prices, they should be ashamed of the food they served us. Seriously! Do not waste a dime here. I am making sure everyone I know does not make the mistake we did.

Wow, and not in a good way. My husband booked this 'adventure' as a treat while we are in town. We…read moretravel full time and really enjoy boat and train excursions. We were looking forward to a calm, romantic evening on a sunset cruise. As many reviews state, the parking situation is dismal. The lot is confusing and in bad shape. We boarded the boat and it looked good from afar, but once on board, it was dirty, rundown and full of bugs/spider webs. There was no safety brief or information given. The two staff members we spoke to were very nice. The boat didn't leave until well past sundown, so the sunset was not a part of the experience. We didn't experience the meal so I cannot comment on that. Unfortunately, the music on the interior of deck 2 was much too loud for us and deck one had the meal, then a saxophone player that was also not the calm, soothing experience we had hoped for. So, we got stuck on the top deck exterior area. This would have been great because the weather was gorgeous. However, the seating is sparse and awful; hard metal benches, the few with cushions were filthy and so thin that they made no difference. The biggest disappointment for us was that they allow smoking on ALL deck exteriors. Most of the staff are smokers as were many of the customers. As non-smokers, we could not escape the smoke. There was a group smoking marijuana also which really stunk up the air. It would be nice if there was a designated smoking area at the back of the boat so that non-smokers had some respite. We spent three hours standing at the front of the top deck, trying to stay upwind of smokers. I still came home with a headache and the smell of smoke on my clothing. The boat has great potential, it just needs some good deep cleaning, seating and maintenance. It would have been nice to have some dialogue that gave information about the history of the boat and the area. A designated area for smoking would be a huge improvement. I realize the parking lot is a shared area, but better signage to where to board the boat and improvements for the lighting and surface of the lot is needed. My husband, who didn't have a drop of alcohol, tripped over a huge crack and fell in the parking lot. It was a terrible topper to an already bad experience.

My husband and I were married at Waterpoint about a year and a half ago. During our engagement, we…read morewere both full time students, my husband had 2 jobs, and I had three. So needless to say, we did not have a lot of time for wedding planning. Lynn- the owner- made everything so simple. She was very straight forward regarding what was or was not included in the rental fee (included: access to building all day, chairs, table, set up, and more). She was also able to recommend vendors that she had worked with in the past and had done a good job. All of the recommended vendors were Conroe based- and many knew each other and had worked together. The venue is large enough to fit 300 people, but we felt it was perfect for our 125 person wedding. While there was an option to do the ceremony on the deck, we chose not to since we were married in June. ' Ultimately, the reasons we chose Waterpoint were: 1. scenery- the building itself was very pretty, but more than that...the views over the water at sunset were spectacular- and made for great pictures. 2. Lynn and her flexibility. She allows you to use any vendor. It's a full weekend rental (no rush to geteverything out by a certain time the night of the wedding). 3. Outside of town (and therefore, much more affordable than the venues we looked at inside the loop) 4. You're allowed to bring your own alcohol and there's no corking fee. Overall, we highly recommend Waterpoint

I mentioned how I would…read morelike to incorporate my dog into the wedding, and was told by Stormy that she would even keep his kennel in her office the night of!!! We booked the all-inclusive package for our wedding, which means that PLR hired the photographer, caterer, officiant, bartender, etc. However, the day of the wedding was met with multiple frustrations when it was supposed to be a perfect day. To start out our morning, we arrived a little earlier after I had confirmed with the wedding planner it was okay to do so to prep our hair and makeup for my bridal party, when we arrived they did not allow us to gain full access until 11 due to a tour they had at 10:45. In their guidlines, it stated that they can hold tours the day of an event up to 11, I was still seeing these people on the property around 12 ( which is after the time I was paying to even be there ). They do provide morning mimosas in the bridal house. I requested cranberry juice for mine, and they accepted this. When we arrived, there were only pineapple and orange. I'm allergic to pineapple, and I dislike orange. When I asked about cranberry juice, they said the open bar would have it LATER on for mixed drinks. The DJ that was hired by PLR informed my guests they could sneak pictures during my UNPLUGGED ceremony, which felt incredibly disrespectful. He also just kept my Spotify playlist on shuffle when I expected a DJ to mix songs and really feel the vibe. If I had known that was his plan, I could have been my own DJ. The centerpieces on the table were beautiful, but not what I had selected. Other than that, the reception hall looked great! When we went to the tasting for the caterer, Sierra Catering, everything was GREAT. My now husband and I raved about the food for months. At the wedding, the food severely lacked the taste we experienced at the tasting, and my cake did not meet expectations from the inspo I had sent over. I was only unable to see the cake until I was in the hall with my guests. For a length of time, it was difficult to locate the wedding planner, and I had to ask multiple times for her to display the cookies I had brought and she did not want to until RIGHT before the cake cutting, no matter how many times she was asked. When my dog (who is registered under their service animal guidelines) made his scheduled appearance, vendors were all extremely upset by his existence. Stormy was also not there that I was aware of, and the pup had to be kenneled in the grooms area. The bartender, Pour Boyz, told multiple of my guests that she had to be tipped prior to making their drink requests. Not to mention the sour face the bartenders held all night, I am really hoping that's not in the pictures. However, I will sing the praises of our photographer, Cabrera, he did a wonderful job capturing all the shots. Multiple guests told me that he was doing wonderful as well. I cannot wait to see the photos from the wedding! I also ended up getting my own officiant, which made things better, considering my experience with the other vendors. We ended the night early due to my headache and irritation with the day. I am extremely disappointed with the unfortunate events and I am sure I could add on to this list, but overall just happy to be married.

The chapel is lovely: small enough to see and hear everything, yet large enough to accommodate your guests without being cramped. Beautiful structure, too. The actual facility was very well tended, with a gracious and attentive waitstaff. Food was on the average side, and the buffet line did get crowded. An ample dance floor and space to dance along the "aisle" between the groups of tables. Restroom was clean, stocked with various essentials (lint roller, tissues, lotion, other toiletries) and well maintained. Navigating to this venue can be a bit intimidating. Located off of a side road (no traffic signal) that intersects with Hwy. 105, you feel as if you're driving into the deep woods until you reach The Carriage House. It is a very unique setting, and when you leave, the road gets very dark! Parking is ample, but be aware that the parking lot itself is actually stones and rocks (a bit difficult to travel across if you're wearing high heels). This is an enchanting location, and since it's obvious that only one event is occurring at any given time, I can clearly see why a bride and groom would choose The Carriage House.
