Big Sky Barn was such a beautiful venue to have our wedding at, and it really encompassed everything we wanted! This was the very first venue that my husband and I looked at, and most people say to look at more than one and not choose the first venue you see, but sometimes you just know. We KNEW Big Sky Barn was the venue for us! Our wedding coordinator, Olivia, was also amazing! She was funny, helpful, and a strong leader. She answered any and all questions and made us feel stress-free on our big day. Came here for a wedding last Sunday on Cinco de Mayo!!! The grounds were well kept and clean and the landscaping was pretty! You drive in and there's a small sign that directs you to the right for Big Sky Barn. There is someone outside directing you where to park - either in the small parking lot to the left or some spaces to the right. Ladies, there are a few rocks so be careful walking to the Chapel and the Big Barn with your heels! The Chapel was a decent size and you are met with amazing windows in the front that shows the green trees outside! Makes for an amazing backdrop to say your vows, though the lighting coming in may not be the best contrast for photos! I liked the beams and the rustic barn wood used to decorate the chapel - the only thing I saw wrong was the pews were not evenly spaced and you can move them back and forth so it may look a bit in disarray in photos. They should take the time to line them nicely prior to each event. The Big Barn was where the reception was next door. Fairly large, held a party of 100ish comfortably. The tables were decorated nicely with flowers and the combination of long wood tables and round white table clothes were a nice contrast from each other. I liked the beams and drapery but those light fixtures were fantastic - I was a huge fan of the chandeliers with the bird cages around them, added a bit of character to the space. The grounds between the chapel and the big barn was nice for cocktail hour - there were games, like cornhole, to keep the kids busy but they were mainly running around the large space. You can walk down the stairs to this gazebo covered in flowers, the trees were covered with twinkly white lights and there was a "little" (actually really steep) bridge below to take photos at. This makes for a really pretty outdoor space at night. You can look down from the large deck as well, and the deck has it's own wood burning fireplace as well as a chair swing. Definitely nice to be outside after dancing on a lovely Texas night. Overall, the venue was pretty and if you want the rustic barn feel, this is it! It's so close to Conroe though and the water, I wish there was some water views or even lodging on site for guests/wedding party. They have enough space for it. This venue feels like it's in the back of a forest! Magical none-the-less! read more

This is a venue I would never book!!! The food was horrible and my vegetables weren't were harder to cut and eat than anything on my plate that was season with Italian dressing. We had to wait over 2 hours just to get a piece of wedding cake after the dinner plate! For a place you have to drive over an hour to get to this is just horrible than any place I have been to a wedding in Houston. read more

The venue is stunning with so many different places on the property for pictures! It is a killer deal to have the ENTIRE property for over 12 hours, that's borderline unheard of. Joanna and I believe her name was Abby, we're absolutely AMAZING. I cannot possibly thank them enough, such genuine amazing ladies. Beautiful venue but the communication is horrible. We went through 3 venue representatives and had the 4th on the day of the wedding. They charge a 21% service fee but at the end of the night the service crew asked for a tip. My tip was to take the 21% i already paid the venue. Sadly they do not receive any of this money. We also were suppose to have the Hawaiian buffet but were served 3 pieces of chicken a roll and some really good vegetables. Not what we ordered but it tasted ok. Basically you eat what they decide you eat. Didn't ask for any feedback after the wedding because they were on to the next. read more

It's a really gorgeous venue with their own chapel. The rooms for the bride and groom are awesome. The landscaping is beautifully done and the creek out back is beautiful. The downfall of the beautiful yard is the wasp other than that. Great place read more

HERE IS A HEADS UP! I just had my reception here at big sky tonight 08/20. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!!!! Although the space is beautiful the staff is SO uncoordinated! our timeline wasn't followed at all, we showed up and we're missing 60+ seats & 6/7 tables on our floor plan, and then they messed up our grand entrance, tried to shut our bar down WAY early, (even though we paid for extra!!!!) and multiple other issues. They obviously haven't communicated and did not even try to make anything up to us. during cocktail hour the bartenders told our guests they didn't make our signature drink because "it wasn't worth making a batch for 30 mins). cocktail hour is an hour.. isn't it? Also they wouldn't let our guests in for cocktail hour until almost 15 mins late so we didn't receive the full hour nor did we receive the keg of beer during cocktail hour. ALSOOOOO, they introduced us as a completely wrong name!!!!!!! I can't express how unhappy I am with the staff here! One of the managers Cheryl White also lied about me & sent me the email mistakenly calling me "the angry bride" and that i "called her stupid and cursed her out in front of all of her guests" which never happened lol! so i am currently trying to rectify this situation with this lying staff & the rest of all of the miscommunication issues. read more

While the venue is beautiful, I was sad to find out the wedding cake and groom's cakes I made as a gift for the bride and groom were thrown out without communication, warning, or care. The cakes weren't even served! I have tried contacting the venue for compensation, but I have received zero response. If this means anything at all, my friends that got married had multiple problems with the staff. The only benefit was the look of the place. I do not recommend hiring them on for any reason. read more

I have my wedding here December 2016. I love how big sky barn always kept me in the loop of their updates. I created a special bond with Vicki and will never forget her. She made my experience so memorable. I remember the frustration of not being able to pick the perfect venue. Nothing spoke to me. And the moment I walked into the chapel I knew that I was to marry my husband there. I looked at Vicki and said where do I sign and pay. She was like "you haven't even seen the rest of the venue / reception area" so I toured the rest of the venue and picked the perfect date to get married. Everything was magical. What I love about this venue is that they provide tons of lanterns which saved me money on centerpieces and decor. They also have a ton of unique spots to take pictures at! I got married at Big Sky Barn in January of 2023, and it was fantastic! While I'd read some unfavorable reviews over the last year since Walters Wedding Estates acquired and took over this venue, we didn't run into any issues during our planning and actual event. I do wish Walters staff was a little more communicative prior to the last two months before the wedding, but I understand that's their process and in the end it worked out very well. Our day-of coordinator, Beverly, was a total professional and just wonderful keeping everything on track. The venue is of course beautiful and the Walters catering food was beyond our expectation! Too often wedding food is bland or cold or just subpar, but everyone said our dinner was delicious! I agree. The drinks were great, not stingy with my husbands whiskey in his coke. Big Sky Barn and the Walters Wedding staff made our wedding pretty darn perfect and I can't thank them enough! read more

Big Sky Barn is amazing!!! The chapel with its huge windows behind the altar could not be more gorgeous. I want a room like the brides' room in my own home one day! I LOVED all of the light fixtures! The cocktail area between the chapel & reception barn is so fun, and the patio around the reception barn is perfectly romantic. I loved every detail of the reception barn as well, especially the beautiful fireplace. On top of the venue being amazing, the staff that work there are second to none!! No detail is overlooked. My sister got married there and we could not imagined a more perfect day. There is not a better place to have any kind of elegant event than Big Sky Barn!! read more

My son married his high school sweetheart after 10yrs of being together. The setting was more than amazing it was absolutely stunning. The perfect combination of elegant and rustic. The chapel gave the feeling of being in our childhood church. The massive windows made a great backdrop to witness their vows. The reception area gave guests plenty of space to dine, dance, and take in a romantic walk down the lighted pathway just steps from the huge back porch. I was overtook with steady tears of joy! I plan to renew my vows to my lifelong love in the Chapel this June as I truly love Big Sky Barn. read more

I will start by saying that the wedding I attended was beautiful and perfect. Perfect because the celebration was for two amazing people becoming one. As I entered the grounds, excited to see this 'new' venue, I was disappointed to find that the parking lot had no parking lines AND it was gravel. Really!? Ladies usually come to weddings in some sort of heel, and you expect us to walk on gravel? Not very well thought out - not to mention that the parking lots are spread out and confusing (in and out) with no signs to help. Even more disappointing was the fact that many of the seats in the chapel are obstructed views (who designed this building)? How do you build a beautiful wedding chapel and expect people to sit and look at a huge wood beam? I couldn't believe that Big Sky Barn thought that this was acceptable. The most amazing part of the whole facility is the gorgeous back porch off of the reception area. You look out into beautiful woods with lights wrapped around the tree trunks...well except for the fact that over half of the tree lights were not working?? Shame on you for not even being able to figure out how to keep all the lights on. We enjoyed it regardless, until the mosquitos started biting (ummm, how about thinking ahead and fogging your venue)? I am writing this review so HOPEFULLY Big Sky Barn will fix what they can and realize that 'planning' for great customer service is important. read more
