I was excited to hear that they opened up a store in Miami (thanks Ariel W!). We went on a Sunday…read moreafternoon and it wasn't crowded which was perfect because it gave us a chance to take our time looking around. I've been to Daiso in Seattle and it seemed that they had a lot more merchandise there. I liked the aisles with the food. I was happy to find some items that they don't carry at the local Asian stores. When we were ready to check out, there were 3 people ahead of us and a line forming behind us. There were no employees at the registers and the self checkout registers had error messages so they couldn't be used. My husband found an employee who was restocking the shelves. Lol, my husband said that the employee didn't seem happy that he had to go up front. While the employee was ringing up the items, his coworkers started arriving. He mentioned to them that he was getting ready to clock out... no wonder he didn't seem happy. A different coworker came up front and cleared the error messages on the self checkout registers which made the line move quickly.

We FINALLY got a Daiso in South Florida!!! Located specifically in Miami Gardens area. Yesssss…read more Every year we head out to Los Angeles to visit family and friends, and Daiso is usually on the list of places to stop into while we're out west. They have about 6500 locations worldwide with 4600 Daiso stores in Japan alone. Daiso is a Japanese discount store that sells so many items such as the following: * Kitchen * Beauty * Stationary * Storage * DIY Supplies * Asian Snacks * Fake Plants * Greeting Cards * Arts & Crafts * Pet Items * Beverages * Bags * Stickers * Stuffed Animals * Notebooks * Socks * Slippers * AND SO MUCH MORE!!! They offer these cool finds at an affordable price. I love going mainly for the cute Sanrio brand items at a great price. They have characters such as Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, My Melody, Tuxedo Sam, Little Twin Stars, Kuromi, Keroppi and more. I love the stationary options! My favorite find here is usually the magnetic bookmarks they sell for maybe five dollars and you can find at Barnes & Noble or other retailers for $10 and up. I collect but I also share with my book loving friends. Magnetic bookmarks are the best! Came here a few weeks after their initial grand opening so it wasn't super crowded. Got some good finds including a black Earthen Pot usually used for bibimbap. Like a ceramic pot. Also found snacks, stickers, small kitchen serving dishes and a few other things. I was good and didn't spend that much money. The line was a bit long when we went to check out but they had regular cashiers on one side and self checkout registers on another side. I'm all about the self checkout as I feel it's quite efficient. Nice spot. Check it out if you're in the area!

I was so excited to read about this new store... an odd lot;job lot;big lot;place with bargains. In…read morereality, it was very disappointing. The concept is that you grab a bag and sift through cardboard boxes of stuff and fill up your bag. Depending on the day you come, the prices change. Monday's price is $3; on Tuesdays it's $2 for each item in the box, etc... down to a 25 cents "blowout" on Thursday morning... until they restock and start the week again. I don't know if the people who came over the weekend and paid $6 an item got all the bargains, but we didn't see even one thing that we considered buying. It was just big cardboard boxes lined up and very awkward to reach into that had piles of the same junk in it -- items you'd find left over from a sale in a flea market. Around the perimeter were drug store and grocery items marked at supposedly 50 percent off the retail price. Again nothing that was of any interest to us. And that's saying a lot when I can't find at least one thing to spend my money on. I'm glad I came -- so I won't feel like I've missed out on anything. Now I know.

Store feels cluttered and slightly dark. We walked in to find only one other visitor on Saturday afternoon. We heard staff making up prices in back area for incoming items. It felt like rock, paper, scissors. Hmmm .... They proudly offer they are a Target Store liquidator now. Interesting as at least 1/2 the store did not look like regular Target merchandise. The pricing now is full retail and then a discount of 35% off. Todays special was slightly higher. They also warned that credit card would add a 3% charge. (Being in financials, they should check processor contract as Visa/MC do not commonly allow this) It was not what we wanted and left. Not knocking their decision to go this route, but doubt we would return. The original business design seemed to offer more possibilities and just needed some better execution. We do wish them luck ....
