I got belly rubs on demand, endless attention, playtime with new friends, and enough treats to make me question whether I should permanently relocate. Every time I walked in, the humans here knew my name and acted excited to see me -- which, as you can imagine, is exactly the level of celebrity treatment I deserve. The place was super clean, safe, and smelled surprisingly good for a building full of dogs making questionable life choices. My parents also loved getting updates and photos of me living my best life while they were away pretending to miss me. (Jasmine, Christina, Ericy, Iliana takes the best selfies of me!) By the time I got home, I was completely exhausted from all the fun, zoomies, and pampering from the staff. 10 out of 10 I would definitely board again and cannot wait until my next visit! Sincerely, Zorro

The first couple times we used Sitter4Paws we had a really great experience with the sitters that were assigned to our senior, diabetic cat. Last year, my mother unexpectedly passed away, and our regular cat sitter was unavailable for half of the trip home. We booked Sitter4Paws the second half of the trip, and let them know about the circumstances and requested sitters that had seen Jodie before so that we could rest easy during a very difficult time. Of course we know that can't always be accommodated due to scheduling, so for the first visit a new sitter came to see Jodie. On the evening of my mother's passing, we got a text from Sitter4Paws that the sitter felt he may have made a mistake with our cat's insulin dosage. It was revealed to us that instead of giving her her normal 2.25 unit dose, he gave her 22.5 units - ignoring the taped off/labeled syringes, our explicit written instructions in the app, and additional photos/diagrams of what a full syringe should look like. Thank god he realized his mistake, otherwise our cat would have slowly died alone in our apartment - and this would have happened immediately after losing my mom. I understand mistakes can happen, but the fact that a sitter was uncertain with potentially life-threatening medication if administered improperly and didn't even think to reach out to us first was quite shocking. Sitter4Paws took full responsibility, admitted their mistake, said they would take steps to make sure something like this would never happen again, and covered her 4 day ER stay, but it never should have gotten to that point. Again - we did have great sitters who took care of our cat wonderfully - but the uncertainty of who you can get especially with medication involved means that we can no longer recommend this service with confidence.

He is very precious to me and unfortunately he has been fighting cancer for over a year. Alea said she had gone through cancer with one of her previous dogs, so completely understood my situation. My Rosco is on chemo and has to drink alot of water all day and urinate nearly every 2 hrs, so he is somewhat high maintenance. Alea took excellent care of him. He usually looses weigh when boarded due to separation anxiety, but I never saw that when she watched him. Alea even took the time to text pictures of him to me periodically, sometimes daily, which re-assured me that he was happy in her care. I thought that was so nice of her to make that extra effort. I'm so happy I found her and would definitely use Alea's services again!

I know kennels in general will keep your pet caged, including the bigger board & care places like pet stores and such. Sleepover Rover was quick in contacting me and providing potential doggie sitters. It was great having open options. I think it's better to leave your pets in the care of a family, to minimize the separation anxiety for you & your pets! Our host , Inna, was very gracious to receive us into her home. We wanted to visit and give our dogs a look-see at their next home for a few days. She allowed us to visit, dogs and family members, not just once but twice. We were able to spend a good half-hour with them each time. She was so nice, and her husband and kids certainly made our dogs feel at home. She also reassured me over the phone on the first and second nights of our stay apart from each other. We did bring the doggies' own food, treats, beddings and food /water bowls (to given them a sense of the familiar while away from home). We got both pets (a Rhodesian Ridgeback Boxer mix & Terrier Beagle mix) back all safe and sound, and none the worse for wear. I definitely would recommend this service to anyone looking to board their pets. At the end of their service, her boys gave us the sweetest drawing of the dogs and themselves and this note: Don't forget us! I kept it and it's still on my refrigerator!

At home, Basia doesn't even want to leave the house for a neighborhood walk but the moment I ask if she wants to go to "Camp Carolyn," she gets so excited and runs straight for the garage. Carolyn has a massive heart for animals and I can tell by Basia's excitement that the dogs are truly loved and well cared for. I highly highly recommend Carolyn to anyone looking for boarding or socialization!

I have not used this service, but Carolyn's responses to the reviews, especially Beth S' comment…read moreabout Carolyn losing her dog, are a giant red flag. Publicly referencing personal information in a vaguely threatening way makes me hesitate to leave my dog here. I am referring to this reply in particular: " ....don't overlook the numerous times I took your dog last minute due to you wanting him out of your home in order for him to be in a 'safe environment' Yet, now four years later you want to trash me? You know what I am referring to... I understand something triggered this review years later.." Airing people's personal business as an attempt to distract from a serious event is extremely inappropriate. (It also makes me wonder...does she gossip about all of her clients?) Rather than addressing the safety lapse, she dismisses it as "sorry you're triggered," which is condescending. Professional responses should stay focused on the issue raised, especially when it involves pet safety.
