Ronna is incredible. Honestly, she did some deep tissue work on me, and I feel like it was life changing. I've never felt a release come from my back, and no one has been able to find the spot that has been so painful for me, but Ronna did. She not only worked on the spot, but she showed me some stretches after to keep it from getting tight. She is so calming and so easy to talk to; makes you feel extremely comfortable. ORIGINAL POST AFTER FIRST APPOINTMENT: I felt like I was in competent hands with Ronna. She took so much time getting to know me and my needs before hand. I felt comfortable talking with her about all sorts of topics, when I normally am very quiet during a massage. She also recommended all types of other stretches and alternative therapies to help me with my problem areas. Even though she didn't have a breast bolster, she still offered to help with some extra towels under my shoulders (which we both totally forgot amidst the great conversation). Ronna was polite, positive, and professional, but most of all friendly and helpful! After leaving her office, I called a friend and raved about her, which I've never done before for any other therapist. This was truly the best massage experience I've ever had! AMMENDMENT AFTER 3rd APPOINTMENT: All of the above was true of only my first appointment, but I'm modifying my review now, because Ronna does NOT keep her appointments. My 2nd appointment had to be scheduled three times. My third appointment was rescheduled once. Further, she has zero flexibility with missed appointments. If you get better service than this, I will presume you paid full price and didn't use Groupon. If you use Groupon, you're likely to hear her complain about how little she gets from them by her marketing that way. Great masseuse, but poor business manners all the way around. Ronna was very friendly and knowledgeable with different types of massage. She is one of the few therapists that truly knows how to give a deep tissue massage. I have scoliosis that affects me daily, and she knew all the spots that were tight and causing my back problems and how to address them. We even did a few stretches. We ended up extending the massage to about 2 hours! It was all much needed maintenance. I felt more flexible, looser, and relaxed afterwards. Before the massage, I had a lot of tension in my neck and shoulders, which had pain radiating to my elbow. She knew what was triggering the tension and now my elbow doesn't hurt! "Due to the lack of consideration or cooperation your appointment is now CANCELLED!" These were the exact words from "legitimate" business owner/operator, Ronna, when I declined to provide payment 24 hours PRIOR to service. I bought a Groupon from My Bliss for a massage as a Christmas gift for my husband. I've used many Groupons in the past, including Groupons for beauty and spa services, and I expected a typical experience, which is to say, I expected to have to present my Groupon at the time of service. Not so with this place. Ronna's policy is that the barcode # to the Groupon be provided at the time of booking. This was one of many problems, starting with my initial attempt to schedule an appointment. When I tried to schedule an appointment, nobody would ever pick up the phone. I tried several times over the course of a few days. After 5 days, my phone call was finally returned with a TEXT! No return phone call. That should have been my first indication to run the other direction. After booking, I was told I'd need to provide my Groupon bar code number in order to hold my husband's appointment. I expressed I was uncomfortable with providing the payment prior to service, and that this was a highly unusual request as I've never been asked for the bar code prior to showing up to an appointment. I said it sounded risky to provide the payment information so far ahead of time. I didn't know this woman from Adam, and I wasn't even talking to her over the phone. How was I to know that this wasn't a scam? She told me she was a "legitimate business" and encouraged me to look her website up to confirm as such, but anyone can design a website. After going back and forth a bit, Ronna agreed to hold the appointment via client name only, but she insisted that I provide the barcode number 24 hours in advanced of the appointment. The day before the appointment, Ronna began blowing up my phone, demanding the barcode number, threatening to cancel my appointment if I didn't provide it. Again, this was all via text. Once again, I reiterated that I was uncomfortable with the request but assured her my husband would hand over the Groupon when he arrived for his appointment. I pointed out that if I wasn't a Groupon customer, I wouldn't be expected to provide my payment 24 hours ahead of time. The Groupon barcode is the only thing the business owner needs in order to redeem payment. How was I to know that this person whom I had only texted with would actually hold the barcode and show up to my appointment to provide the service, rather than mark it as redeemed and then fail to show up. It was very suspicious. The next morning, I awoke to a text stating as follows "Due to the lack of consideration or cooperation your appointment is now CANCELLED" (I have screen shots of the text exchanges as proof). Wow. She advised me to seek an alternate therapist as it didn't appear we would be a good fit as my approach was making HER feel uncomfortable by refusing to follow her company policy of providing the Groupon. I don't know what this woman's deal is, but the fact that pre-payment was required prior to never actually speaking or meeting her was a huge red flag to me. If anyone should feel uncomfortable, it should be me, which believe me, I am. I am very disappointed in the lack of professionalism and customer service from a said "legitimate" business. I've searched reviews, and found several positive, but just remember, reviews can be manufactured. There's no guarantee the reviews are "legitimate", just as this business cannot be either. Let the buyer beware. There is something seriously off about this place and this woman, and I wouldn't risk wasting my time or my money. Find a reputable spa, and pay more money if you have to, because you get what you pay for. read more
