Luckily Glebe has a few different laundry services to choose from. In my experience, the best one is Hoang Sanh. There are a couple things I like about this place: I like the fact that they always match my socks up correctly (it's shocking how polka dot with polka dot, paisley with paisley can be such a difficult concept). I like that the male owner has the uncanny ability to fold my t-shirts into the most perfect rectangle one might ever see. I also like the fact that it's a family establishment. I rarely walk in their door without receiving a friendly little RAM into my shin by a 3 year-old driving a plastic car. Lastly, I like the "no judgment" approach to dry cleaning. One time after a particularly huge day / night out, I brought in my favorite white skirt with grass stains all over the back and technicolor cocktail spillage on the front. I gave it to the owner sheepishly with down-cast eyes and a "please, please it's my favorite!" Without even the hint of a scolding, she took it, sorted it out and with 4 two-dollar coins I was able to buy back my dignity a couple days later.

Located on the corner of Commonwealth & Reservoir St (diagonally opposite the Royal Albert), HDC do dry cleaning & pressing and best of all, cheap cheap bag washes. I haven't had any dry cleaning or pressing done there, but every week I drop off my laundry, and come back the next day to a bag of washed, dried & folded good times. $10 for a full bag wash (and that's with quite a lot of clothes). The place is run by a really lovely couple who are great with faces, after only around 3 visits I stopped needing to do any paperwork / receipts stuff. I simply dump my bag, and the next day as soon as I walk in the guy grabs my bag, takes my $10 and off I go. You can pay either when you drop off your clothes, or when you pick them up - it's your choice. They also take eftpos, but there's a $1 surcharge.

"Yes, it'll be ready by 4" Get a call that my clothes are ready; go to pick them up and they aren't. Had to take the car to find off street parking for 20 minutes. Go to pick my clothes up - comes to $94. "Wow, this must be top notch service", I think. Then I see...everything has been dumped into 2 plastic bags. Not folded or organised, just dumped into plastic bags. The counter lady, of course, doesn't have full mastery of English, so trying to ask her questions is akin to talking to a wall. I go home, to find that most things are now wrinkled, because everything has just been dumped in a couple of bags. To further add insult to injury, I get a call on Tuesday saying they forgot to give me all my clothes. So I've now got to arrange time out of my work day to somehow organise to get there to pick up the remainder, also carelessly thrown in a plastic bag. @Lawrence Dry Cleaners say they don't do same day service on Sunday - then why did I get told that they could do it? It's about setting expectations. And for the exorbitant cost, I expected much higher quality of service and at least to not have my clothes wrinkled. I've attached pictures to show. Avoid these people: unsatisfactory customer service, and appalling quality of work.

Often the smells, heat and steam required me to dry clean it more than you would the average suit. Over time the suit began to get shinny. When I brought it to the attention of the dry cleaners they said they would make note of it. Yet still it came back with no change. They tried to write it off as it was in the areas of the suit that experience the most rubbing but in fact it was the same throughout the suit. After i repeated brought it to their attention they said they would send it off to the lab and it would take about a week. Three weeks later and me being the one having to repeated follow up with them instead of them calling me, they informed me that it was nothing they would do about it. This company is too large to care for individual garments and individual people. They are a massive company too big to care about the little guy. They lose one customer, they have hundreds more. They simply do not care.
