From many broken items to gashes in the walls, these guys have no sense respect and/or professionalism. I hired My 3 Sons Moving in Richmond, KY to help with a home move, and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. During the move, the crew broke my 85-inch flat screen TV due to clear negligence. They laid it flat in the truck -- something that any reputable mover knows not to do -- and crammed it in without proper protection. I have photos and videos showing the careless handling that led to the damage. You can clearly see in the photo the TV box laid flat sandwiched between other items, causing the box to be dented prior to transport. A manager was on-site during the move and personally helped load the TV, contributing directly to how it was mishandled. Despite that, it took over three weeks and having to conduct multiple follow-ups before I finally heard back from the company. When they did respond, they offered me just $60 in compensation -- which doesn't even come close to covering the cost of the damaged TV. On top of that, I've asked them to remove the broken TV from my home, since I'm not physically able to move it myself, and have received no help or solution on that either. This experience has been extremely frustrating -- not only because of the damage, but because of the lack of accountability, poor customer service, and insulting resolution offer. I would strongly urge others to look elsewhere if you want your belongings treated with care and your concerns handled professionally. read more

Broke my computer and office desk and refuse to pay for it! In fact, when I brought it to their manager's attention everything that had happened in my horrible experience with the afternoon moving team, I received a text (see images) from him alleging I owed THEM more money and basically tried to extort me into paying more BEFORE he'd even "investigate" my damage claims! It all started when, toward the very end of the first 1.5 hours of a 2 hour 10 min move (I timed it on my phone), I had no choice but to leave to meet agent for my new keys. I stood in front of both movers and said EVERYTHING ELSE needs to be loaded and brought to the new house except the garbage can. 15 min later, they arrived at the new location, and it was clear as soon as they opened the truck that they had NOT grabbed THOUSANDS of dollars worth of my property from the old place! They left behind (see images for PROOF!): 2 expensive TVs, all my art canvases, a floor lamp, vertical fan, all my bedding, my large dog cage, office chair, dog food bins, and all my CLOTHES which were neatly hung and stacked and wrapped! I didn't get mad (though it made no sense to me at all) and simply said they would have to go get the stuff. I had informed My 3 Sons and the movers that I have no help AND that I have Huntington's and I cannot carry anything myself! They left (after hurriedly unloading and putting everything willy nilly with no rhyme or reason) to go get the rest of my things (supposedly). A few minutes later, I decided I needed to go behind them and MAKE SURE they got it all! I arrived at the old address no more than 10 min later, and they were already gone. When I went inside, I saw that they had ONLY grabbed the dog cage and office chair!! They left THOUSANDS of dollars worth of property behind YET AGAIN! And that's after being given a second chance to make it right! I quickly called one of the movers on his cell and (yes, firmly) informed them they HAD to come finish the work I had paid for! He yelled at me, and he gaslit me, alleging, "You said to leave everything except the dog cage and chair!" WHO WOULD EVER WANT LET ALONE ASK MOVERS TO LEAVE TVS, CLOTHES, BEDDING, ART WORK, ETC WORTH THOUSANDS BEHIND?!?!?! Let's put on our grown up brains and think about that!! I then got a call from their manager (never gave me his name), who clearly intended to just back up his movers, and as I talked to him, I got a text saying I had been charged almost $500!!! This was WELL ABOVE the quoted rate of $184 per hour, when the move took exactly 2 hours and 10 minutes! They overcharged me without my permission when I should have only paid less than $400! Later that evening, when I went to set up my office, that's when I noticed they had damaged my PC unit/main monitor BEYOND REPAIR, as well as breaking my office desk (it's bowed and drawers wont close now)!! For My 3 Sons to not only do all this to me but then try to extort me for another $100 ABOVE the overcharge already BEFORE they will even investigate my damage claims of over ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS is just beyond a bad review. This will be taken to small claims court this week! BBB has already been reported. I'm sure some of their movers are fine! But the main mover who was sent to "help" me was a dick, they were lazy, they rushed, and they cost me THOUSANDS and wasted my time! But the worst of it is the extortion attempt by the Richmond location manager, who clearly states in the text shown in the pic that AFTER I "pay the balance due" (a new random amount allegedly owed) THEN they would "investigate" my claims. This is beyond the pale. And the movers and the manager are a disgrace and going to wind up costing My 3 Sons a lot of money in the long run for being lazy and saving 15 minutes more work. read more

I want to warn you about this horrendous moving service Because it has been the absolute WORST business I have ever had to deal with. Their management was horrendous, and super discourteous-- forcing my family to pay in full before our move because his mover said himself that he doesn't "trust certain folks"-- and when I asked for clarification he openly stated people of color. The manager cursed at my mother over the phone, and threatened to take our belongings to a place we'd never find them. The movers broke multiple items, scratched up our wooden floors by recklessly moving furniture and didn't have the courtesy to tell us about the damage-- until we caught them trying to hide the broken items. Lastly, we were owed a refund from having been forced to pay a bulk sum in advance (despite the contract explicitly saying otherwise)-- and still have not received it. It was due in July 2023. The staff have been discourteous about providing the refund, and for months never replied to our phone calls or emails. I've attatched pictures of the damaged items as proof-- it only lets me post 10 but I will try to find a way to show Go with any other business you can-- Three Sons Moving Co are absolute scammers, and it's been a headache to deal with their HORRIBLE team. Terrible company. Stops scheduling you randomly and doesn't communicate well with their employees. They pick and choose who to schedule and even tho I never missed a day and was on time when scheduled, just stopped scheduling me knowing I have a kid on the way. Company is just terrible to their employees imagine how terrible they would be with your personal belongings. Don't recommend unless you want the run around. Haven't scheduled me since June 1st and since then haven't heard a thing from them. After texting the manager to see what's up he just ignored me, didn't reply. read more

We had a 4000sf house that took 2 26ft trucks filled with our belongings for a 900 mile move. For a total of 11k for the move. I had 5 pieces of expensive furniture that was damaged, chipped , wood damage drawer knobs on night stand damaged and one torn off, even water damage when one of the trucks leaked . I waited for several weeks for a claim to be processed. I was offered 125.00 for the damage . I was furious, replacement cost would have been well over 5k I told them I was insulted and what I would settle for which was 1500. I have not heard a word or a return call and it has been 2 months . DO NOT USE unless you enjoy your things broken or damaged with insultingly low compensation. FYI it is at the company's full discretion how much they decide to reimburse you at $.60/a lb. (they decide the weight, not actual). No bias there, right? I had 2 moves- 1st one, guys were great and careful. I was the 3rd mover, so handled or saw all my items twice. One door was broken on that move- I am confident nothing else was damaged that time. The second crew, I had 16 items with major damage or completely destroyed- Hunks of wood missing, deep gouges in furniture, destroyed lamps (wrapped & taped heavily), dented metal items, 12 boxes caved in from the top or with holes through the sides, and much more. Numerous smaller things broken that I didnt list (handles busted off, hinges ripped off drawers, etc). The manager, Martin, made appointments to come see the damages and was no call/no show twice. I kept having to reach out to him; he often said he was 'too busy'to get to my issue. He also never offered any options besides him coming to glue/stain the scratches/missing wood chunks. I saw the claim option was available after reading reviews and asked for it after getting stood up; only then did he say that was available. I used a bathroom scale to weigh each item except 2 large desks, too heavy to pick up (underestimated at 50lbs ea.) and came to 350.8lbs total. I listed each item with details on what the damage was (very conservative) in a Word document and sent pictures of every item to the manager. I contacted him a day after he said he'd let me know the final resolution (he had blown me off again) and was told they sent a check for $55. That doesn't even cover the weight of one of the items damaged. I wasn't looking for replacement costs, and intentionally underestimated on heavier items to be 'fair.' Some of the items damaged were my deceased grandmother's that I cannot replace nor easily fix. I was told on both moves that if I helped equally as the 3rd mover, that I would pay less. That was a flat- out lie- I paid what was quoted and worked side-by-side with the movers. Do not do this- you cannot watch everything they do to your stuff when you are helping!! And they will NOT give you a discount for it like they say. It is obvious this company does not care about its customers. I paid these guys $3381.65 for two moves within 6 months, incured $500+ in damages, and recieved $55 in compensation. DO NOT USE. read more

BEWARE! This company had one of the sons come out to do an estimate for our move from KY to Ohio. The gave us a very competitive quote, so we agreed. On the DAY OF OUR MOVE, they said we actually needed a second truck and charged us DOUBLE! We had no choice but to agree to pay because we had to be out of our house that day by 3pm. After calling to complain they refused to admit to their mistake on the estimate and refused to even discuss a course of action to try and make it right. As a business owner myself, I am appalled at the way they treat customers! I posted this to facebook and talked to several friends and found several other people have had the same experience. The movers were quick but they carelessly packed our truck and left. not only did they stack our tvs flat on top of each other which caused one of them to break without us even finishing our packing process but everything was packed poorly which forced us to fix everything ourselves. there is no one to get in touch with because their Richmond office is closed and the online chat was no help. us having to move 6 hours away this leave us with a situation of how this will be situated. i have left multiple voicemails and will be calling until this situation is resolved. read more

Scheduled the movers 2 weeks ago.... confirmed yesterday. Moving from a small 2 bedroom apartment and a 10x10 storage building to a 3 bedroom house from richmond ky to somerset ky. Fast forward to moving day.. . 3 guys show up one very tall and very nice. 1st impression - professional. He asked to see the apartment and then asked about the storage building. Went back to his coworkers for a few min. And then came back stating they could move us (we have to be moved today!). They claimed because there weren't "clear paths" to get in and out of the apartment ( but there was) and my husband was smoking in his bedroom. My guess it was because they didn't want to climb the 14 steps in and out of the apartment and make $2600 for the company. Going to uhaul! #saving me some money!!! read more

While the movers were very polite, I did not receive all of my items. I'm missing a good deal of my cookware and kitchen utensils. I called the office and was assured the truck was empty. It wasn't because I'm missing too many things. I'll have to spend a a couple hundred dollars replacing the items I didn't receive because I cannot cook without my skillets. We used My 3 Sons 3 different times but each time the experience deteriorated. I was initially impressed when I called to obtain a quote to move our stuff to a warehouse for storage until we finished a remodel on a newly purchased home. The only complaint I had the first time was that boxes we clearly marked as "Fragile" were haphazardly stacked 3 high with no regard to the potential for them to fall. The second time we hired them to move the items from the warehouse to the new home. The crecrew were pleasant but very young and appeared to be very inexperienced. We found broken items in the boxes we had marked "fragile". The agreement the lead crew member had me sign was on a cell phone and I couldn't read the language. This was my fault, I should have insisted upon a written copy prior to signing but we were in the midst of the move and standing in the driveway at the time...still my fault. They paid 60 cents per $100 of damage, I would have balked at had I taken the time. The last move was to move my mother who was downsizing. The crew, still pleasant, was totally inexperienced by their own admission. The truck they arrived in leaked oil in a stream so bad that it was running down the driveway. When I called it to the attention of the crew, the lead member said he was aware of it. He said he had repeatedly told his manager of the issue but it had never been fixed. He further told me they had to fill-up with oil everytime they filled up with gas. The crew drug mom's furniture through door ways forcibly scratching both the items and the doorways. They attempted to bring an armoire down from the 2nd floor and knocked several holes in the drywall and scratched the stair treads badly. They wound up taking the armoire back up the steps causing more damage and told me they couldn't figure out how to bring it out. This is a newer piece of furniture and the store from where we bought it move it upstairs without issue. The crew leader took photos of all the damage and said he would report it but that I should follow-up the next week. This process took many, many weeks. Initially, Reagan Schlegel came out to inspect the damages, took photos and told me he would get back with a resolution soon. Repeated phone calls & texts to him went unanswered. The reception would not put my calls through because Regan was "out on a move" or "unavailable" so I left multiple messages. At long last I received an email from Mr. Schlegel advising they would send us a check for $225 to cover damages: oil stains in the driveway, $50 to repair the multiple holes in the drywall, and multiple damages to furniture. This was our experience, which will be our last with My 3 Sons. read more

I called and got an estimate from My3Sons Moving 30 days before my move from Richmond Ky to Lexington Ky, explaining that I was moving most things to storage (1/2 mile away) from my 1 bed apartment (800 sq ft) and the rest to Lexington. The est was $450-550, when the mover's came an hour late the estimate went to $475-650. When they were finished the price was $800 for THREE HOURS including drive time!! I was very transparent with the amount of items needing to be moved. As the truck pulled up I knew it was not the correct size truck for my need. I let the drivers know and after reviewing the amount needing to be loaded they assured me it would be alright and they would "make it work". An hour and a half later the truck was completely full with a quarter of my belongings remaining (with the back of my pick up full as well). I reached out to the office to let them know what had happened and they said they would be willing to make it right and send an additional pick up and mover to help resolve the issue and would give me a call back to schedule. I was happy with this resolution and paid more than full price that day. 2 days later I called the office after not hearing from my representative and she informed me they would not be sending any additional help or truck. She did say I could PAY for an additional service and the mistake was my fault. I was obviously hesitant as I felt this was VERY WRONG after being reassured they would resolve THEIR issue. As I'm in desperate need of help (the very reason I hired a company) I asked if they could please send a quote for help with the things that were left. I have received nothing. But, most importantly, they took painstaking efforts to assure that our items were loaded, transported and set up in our new home in excellent condition. We hired them to move us from one place to a couple blocks away. The movers appeared to be very nice and responsible. We had no problem with them until we remembered we forgot to grab the guns (3) from beneath the mattress. We ask them what they did with them and they stated they put them in a box. We went through everything and found a box missing that had nothing but name brand purses missing and the 3 guns missing. We called the company and told them and she told me that the employees have worked there for years and would never have stolen (Funny thing while they were moving us and we were talking. He told me he had only been working for them for a couple of weeks.). She then told me they do nothing for stolen guns. So on top of the $1000.00 we paid them. It cost us another $3000.00 in stolen property. Would advise everyone to steer clear of this company. They deserve no stars, but I had to put at least one to post. read more
