We had a few weeks prior to discuss the plan and she told me it might take two or three sessions to achieve the look I wanted. She also told me that the health of my hair was her priority. On the day of my appointment, my hair was in good health, and Heather began to remove the old color from my hair. She ended up double processing my hair and I was there for five hours. She finished off with a k18 leave in treatment and when I left the salon, my hair was sopping wet. She did not cut it and or dry it. She gave me specific instructions not to wash my hair for the next three days and not to use heat for 14 days and when I did wash it and I had to specifically use the products that she sold me. The products were $300 in the hair service was about $300 and I gave her $60 tip. My completely destroyed. It's been falling out left and right and it's broken. And very, very frizzy. I went for a second opinion and that salon told me that Heather was how she treated my ask for a refund. Heather was supposed to do the second part of my process two weeks later on April 18 and the hairdresser I went to, for the second opinion, said I should not have any more processing on my hair for at least five weeks. I ended up cutting off about an inch and a half of my own hair and the hairdresser I went to for the second opinion said I would need at least two more inches cut off. At this point, I'm just going to chop it all off and get a pixie. My hair was down past my shoulders. I tried to resolve this with Heather directly by sending her messages and telling her that I had gone for a second opinion. I sent her pictures of my hair and she said that I must've altered it. I am beyond upset about this as anyone would be. She is a licensed professional, and she completely destroyed my hair and will not take accountability. And trie to gaslight me into thinking I did something wrong. I filed a claim with the New Hampshire cosmetology, licensing board, charge back with my credit card company, left her a couple of one star reviews. The one on Google has pictures of my hair and screenshots of the texts. My next course of action is to file a claim and small claims court. I wouldn't pay attention to any of the five star reviews because that is the reason why I chose Heather. Now I know it was just her friends writing the reviews.

Explained in original msg I was a past client & couldn't remember stylist's name; when booked, assumed they found me in system w/ previous stylist. Felt misleading 2 book me w/o disclosing no past record. Appt was 2 get closer 2 color a stylist elsewhere fell short of. Receptionist booked me w/ a brand-new, freshly licensed stylist--poor judgment call. Stylist said receptionist is young b/c I noted coming in 1 day after color done: "receptionist who booked u is younger so maybe she doesn't realize ur hair needs 2 rest." Expected her 2 tell me 2 wait b4 doing anything, but she didn't. Hair was uniform color w/ a few thin highlights--not complex "color correction" 4 damaged, green, or striped hair. Just adding foils 4 a partial (she used only 16 foils on my thick hair; every other hi/low partial I've had used ~30). Issues during service: Surprised by foil amt--in 30 yrs getting hair done, foil count is double what she used. Root Melt: Asked 2 match base 2 natural roots (base was already 1/2 shade darker w/ diff hue). Without showing swatch, added root melt leaving base 1 full shade darker than I came in w/ (1 1/2 shades darker total). Dyeing hair darker than natural root requires high maintenance--exact opposite of low-maintenance goal. Flawed Foil Execution: Missed ends on last few inches w/ visible gaps (saw her fold foils w/ dry ends). Face-framing "money pieces" weren't done back-2-back at hairline; dark hair woven in front ruined bold look requested (worst on right part side). Distance passes on left, but close up in mirror I hate it. Tried pointing it out while blow-drying; she misunderstood & applied toner 2 root. Chaotic Toning: Agreed 2 simple warm toner, but turned into chaotic trial-&-error w/ 3-4 back-2-back toners at sink (1st toner, rinsed, 2nd added, another stylist mixed 3rd 4 5 mins, then had her add 4th). Panicked color was messed up; drying confirmed money pieces came out stark white, not blonde. Owner said "just ashy"--seen/had ashy blonde b4, didn't look like that. Kept mouth shut & apologized 4 complaining (wish I stuck 2 honesty). Sent back 4 5th toner just 2 b presentable. Overpriced: $235 4 16-foil partial by most junior stylist (much of time spent fixing tone errors at sink) is unreasonable, especially w/ improper foil application. After 2.5 hrs & $235+ out of pocket (+ tip), hair is merely tolerable while I wait 4-5 wks 2 recover enough 2 fix elsewhere. Will reach out 2 owner; if she refuses price adjustment, will dispute charge w/ credit card co. Poor judgment w/ staff attire: staff member's Halloween costume featured a skirt so short her butt exposed walking b/c it rode up--completely BEYOND unprofessional 4 customer-facing business (& owner was there, unbothered). Reviews call salon beautiful/clean, but I disagree: acceptable, but nail tech chair extremely dirty, furniture worn, hair in piles near station, dust/hair on baseboards. Salons charging this much r usually immaculate. Gloss & Mane isn't terrible, but far from place I went 2 in 2022.
