I met Heather in DC in 2002. I had just returned from Paris, where a French hair stylist had just "released the texture" in my hair. In doing so he exacerbated my cowlicks leaving me with what looked like a swirled bull's eye on each side of my head. Needless to say, I was grateful for Heather's skill. During the time I knew Heather in D.C. her salon was nominated by Allure magazine as one of the top 100 salons in the country.
When I moved to NH in 2019 I was happy to reconnect with her. Like a lot of people, I couldn't color my hair during COVID and was left with outgrown roots and excessively long hair. I decided to go gray. Heather talked me through the process. There were steps. Who knew? Steps to get rid of remaining color, steps to brighten and nourish the hair, steps to strategically color some strands so the hair didn't look too steel wool gray. Then because of my "loss of pigment' (gray), there was new care for my hair so that it didn't frizz and look like a disheveled dandelion. Through it all, Heather explained and applied her expertise. To have frazzled, dull gray hair takes no effort at all. To have light filled, smooth gray hair takes the effort of both the stylist and client.
I'm thrilled with my hair care for my graying hair, and apart from that, I've had years of excellent haircuts, and recovery services when I stupidly allowed someone else to mangle--cut--I meant cut my hair. When my college age cousins come visit, the first thing they want is for Heather to cut and highlight their hair. We are so grateful for her skill and kindness to us. Best thing I ever did, walking into that salon in D.C. read more
