I wasn't sure what style of pub/bar/tavern pie it would be but I was eager to find out. Our bartender was super friendly and quickly put in our order. We got two pizzas. One standard pepperoni and the other Chicken + Pickle. The pizzas came out ripping hot and smelling heavenly. The crust of these pies is more akin to a pan style pizza than what I would think of as a bar or tavern pie. It had that buttery crisp that reminds me of old school Pizza Hut (and I mean that complementary!). The sauce was a solid supporting character, the real star are the cheese and toppings here. It tastes and stretches like they use a blend of cheddar and mozzarella. The pepperoni was cooked to perfection. The cups pooling with oil and so crunchy. The chicken was quite tender and most on the other pizza, and the dill pickle taste was in full force, exactly as I was hoping! While I was hoping to find something like South Shore Bar Pie, what I did find was an awesome pub pan pizza in a spot that I've passed 100s of times. It was actually in a spring roll wrapper so I'm not sure why they're trying to pass it off as an eggroll. It was way below average, small and mostly cheese with barely any steak. An easy waste of money. They have a big menu online but only about 1/4 of the menu is displayed at this location. They also have the world's smallest selection of Pepsi products. A good amount of Coke products though. My last visit was beyond disappointing and a big shocker coming from J's. I think I'll stay away from this place for awhile.
