I didn't want a small problem to become a large one, I couldn't fix it myself, so on the recommendation to use Mr. Handyman on Larkfield Road in East Northport I called them. Cassandra and Anita, the two young ladies who run the office, take the phone calls, were very helpful. They were friendly, they were professional. They took my situation seriously and got somebody out here as soon as possible. You get notification that the technician is on his way with a picture of him and his name so you know exactly what to expect Jim C. was the technician assigned to my home to do the job. He was very friendly. He was helpful, he explained things which put me at ease regarding my problem. The whole process was fast, easy & efficient. I'm very pleased. He left everything clean & the job done. I will use them again.

Mainly giving this company 2 stars for two reasons: they charged me 80 dollars just to come give…read moreme an estimate... which they put in fine print and charge at the end, so it feels very sneaky and dishonest. And also why am I paying someone to come see a job and talk about paying them more? And secondly, they quoted me 16,600 to build a 6ft wall and doorway in my (finished) basement, and hang 4 doors (which they decided they wanted to make smaller and take apart in a pretty much finish basement.... Which is pretty obscene. I've done a lot of work in past so it's pretty high up there. Would've given zero stars if I could, but one star would only be for the gentleman who showed up (and just works for the company and doing his job) was very nice and personable and also seemed knowledgeable. And I'm sure he is not the one making this huge upcharges in work. But overall I wouldn't recommend and also felt it was weird and sneaky to charge me after the estimate 80 dollars to come to my house to talk about the job. The company should be paying their workers for their time, or have them disclose and ask for the payment when they arrive so I could have the opportunity to decline. So for that alone it reflects as dishonest.

JM General Repairs - Leaking valves could make huge damages, shutting it off it's not a fix.

*STAY AWAY**** Jorge…read morecame to our house accepted to do work We didn't even negotiate a price (he did good work for us previously) we took his price and decided to go with him. Gave him a check up front $900 9/7/2918. For him to start the project on 9/14/2018. He came did half the job cashed the check and HAS NOT RETURNED! No phone call, not returning emails NOTHING! Jorge I know you will see this. Have no idea how you sleep at night. We trusted you to come in our house and support you and your new family with giving you our business. If you needed the money and more time you could call were reasonable. To take our money and disappear is ridiculous! *STAY AWAY FROM THIS CROOK*

I got an estimate from Jorge for some basement work in early April based on his good reviews. He…read moreseemed like a nice guy, explained everything and we signed the contract. Estimated time of completion = 2 weeks. I paid him the first installment and he started right away. He worked consistently for a few days. But then the absences began - he kept me apprised at first but then he just wouldn't show up for days. It has been more than 3 months and he's still not completed the basement. I've given him a $1000 advance for another project and he has not shown up for work since. He also has $500 worth of my stuff from Ikea that he picked up but never delivered. To be fair, he did mention that he had a personal task to attend to but that was in late June and I've not heard from him since. The most frustrating part is not responding to calls and messages (I have all logs). I've explained to him several times the urgency of finishing this work but he seems to have ignored it so far. Very unprofessional!!

Mike is the first "handyman" I've used on Long Island and so long as he keeps accepting my business…read morehe's likely be the only one I use! He is GREAT, not only at what he does but just being an overall nice guy in general. We just finished a home renovation project and were in the process of putting our house back together (furniture, picture hanging, ect). I contacted Mike about putting some chairs and dressers together as well as hanging several mirrors and pieces of art around the house (one of which was a huge portrait for over the fire place). We fully expected the job to take between six to eight hours but asked him to come for three hours first because we weren't ready to spend that much money after our renovation. To our great delight, at the three hour mark he finished all but one of the items on our list. We went ahead and paid for another hour and got everything we needed put together and hung in four hours (half the time and price of what we were expecting). The real gold star for him though, is him giving my friend his screw gun while she was putting my drapes up. He could have easily stood their laughing at her trying to screw it in and offer to do it himself (at a cost) when she ultimately failed. Instead he offered up his own tools so that she was able to complete the job. He's a real stand up guy and I'm happy to have done business with him! Highly recommend!
