Backyard stamped concrete with glow rock borders

1 YEAR UPDATE: Antonio and his team did an excellent job! The job was improvised on the go and Antonio's recommendations were excellent. I had a rough idea of what I wanted but the team executed what I was looking for. My newly poured backyard and driveway are very sturdy. I recently tried to hammer drill through the floor to install a patio cover and it was very tough. The quality of the pour is so far in great condition. I think it is worth your time and money to have a high quality contractor to talk to and work with. This is a long term investment in how your house will appear to you and your neighbors.

    I love it

Thank you for the excellent service and especially for the amazing work you did in my backyard. It's been four years since the first project, and now with the second one, I am completely impressed and thrilled with the results. Thank you Antonio and crew

Antonio has done a fantastic job, always available to answer our questions, address our concerns, and make everthing move fast, smooth, and efficiently. We are looking forward to working with him again in near future.

It was a bad experience interacting with this contractor I was contacted and appointment was sent 2 times and they arbitrarily canceled it. It was a very bad experience and when i called them it was a very rude response. Tom

Our experience with Antonio and his crew was great. We contacted him through Yelp and he was able to give us an affordable estimate based on our description of work and preliminary dimensions. He came out to our house to meet us, discuss the work, and take dimensions. His final estimate was not too far from the initial one so we decided to go with him. Work started a month later and they were done in 1.5 weeks! Work included replacing our front and back lawn areas with synthetic turf and concrete areas with pavers. The original turf we wanted was not in stock at the time so Antonio brought several new samples for us to choose from. In the end we actually ended up with an even better one. We weren't able to do a final walkthrough with Antonio when they were done, but he said to reach out if we had any issues. The next day I saw some areas of our stairs that didn't have enough sand filled in the vertical sides. I contacted Antonio and he came later that weekend to fill those spots and make sure everything was sound. Overall great experience with Antonio and his crew. Our whole family enjoys this outside area and it looks amazing!

MVP General Contractor did an amazing and impressive work. They were extremely friendly and professional. They helped us to remodel our backyard by removing the grass and putting the stamped cement. It was quick and easy to get an estimate. They did arrive promptly as committed and finished within the estimated time. We appreciate their speedy project delivery. We'll be recommending MVP General Contractor to our friends and family who are redoing their yards. Their price are fair and the crew is very responsive.

    Project completion!

Antonio and his team did an excellent job hardscaping our patio/backyard, which consisted of mainly covering an area previously used as a garden with pavers. There were many prospective companies that I reviewed and met with to take on this project. Why I chose Antonio and his team to undertake the project was: Communication and rapport Our first meeting was not rushed in any way and Antonio patiently and carefully listened to my initial project ideas and objectives. Antonio is also very personable. Antonio made it a point to have ongoing communication regarding the project as I was still in the process of considering which company to go with. Ease of planning Antonio made planning the details of the project very easy. He gave ample advice and also alternatives that I had not considered. Because of this, the outcome of the project was much better than I had initially anticipated. I especially appreciated the process of paver selection as Antonio already had brochures ready for me to review. This was an exception compared to other companies that required me to get the pavers myself. The time for the project was also better than most of the other companies we talked to. Cost estimates were very appropriate and competitive and were discussed promptly and clearly. Based on my wife's observations, Antonio and his team of two arrived on time to start the project. They worked hard, efficiently and methodically. They were also very respectful of our property and courteous. Again, Antonio continued to communicate with me as the work was being done, and promptly answered questions that I had as the work was being done. The project was finished on time and the results were fabulous and better than anticipated. We are very pleased with Antonio and his team and highly recommend him for your hardscaping needs!

    Clean lines!

Antonio is friendly, professional, does not cut corners to do the job right, makes sure you'll love your new driveway, and offers a very reasonable price. You should ask him for a quote too when you compare contractors. Built to last, totally recommended, see pics!

    Before concrete job

I really enjoyed working with Antonio and his crews. They were very professional, on-time, easy to communicate, cost-competitive and most of all excellent workmanship. I'm very happy with the result and I highly recommend them for any concrete, paving and general yard work.

Perfect job, reasonable price, excellent buddies. Antonio is one of the most polite, reliable and diligent worker I have ever met. 1000 sqft paver job is done within less than 1 week with high quality and standard.

    Walkway

Antonio and his team did a great job with our new driveway and walkways. He was very detailed in explaining the options and quoting the prices associated with each, and we ultimately went with pavers. The work was done quickly & efficiently, and it looks great!

Antonio and his team laid over 1,200 square feet of pavers for our driveway and transformed our front yard. The team showed up early and worked hard all day and even through the weekend to get the job done quick and beautifully. Antonio is really responsive and very knowledgeable- helping us navigate a few tricky issues. Thank you Antonio!

I recently got my driveway done by MVP General Contractor, and I am very, very satisfied with the results. Antonio and his crew were very professional from the beginning to the end of the project. Antonio explained to me the process of the framing and pouring of the concrete and the care needed after.. Highly recommend.. Don't hesitate in contacting Antonio for your next concrete project.

He was thorough, detailed, creative, conscientious and he truly listened - to my goals, likes/dislikes, and concerns. He provided me with recommendations across all 3 work areas that took into account the needs and special considerations for each location. He worked to ensure that we had a good strategy for redirecting water from the downspout to the patio and for redirecting water via a small 'channel' parallel to the driveway to allow for better water management. Being a highly visual person, I also found their showroom very helpful in choosing colors and patterns for the stamped concrete finish. In preparation and execution, Paul and the team took great care planning out each phase, protecting my new glass garage door and fixing a small nick on the house during the cement pour. He also personally adjusted the patio downspout, intentionally going out of his way with a plan to avoid creating unnecessary holes in the new siding. He also helped me anticipate and plan for mail and other deliveries during the time the walkway would be off-limits. He also worked well with my neighbor to plan for and to gain access to the garage each day in my absence. He regularly sent pictures and text updates. All of this because he is thorough, creative, conscientious, detailed and seems to sincerely care about his clients. The result: Exactly what I had hoped, delivered on time, with quality, care and with consideration for my schedule and the well-being of my home. Paul delivered to his word. I would hire Paul and the Alexander & Sons team again for any hardscaping in the future.

From the very first phone call, we could tell he knew his craft. He spent generous time listening to our wish list and understanding our vision, explaining the design/build timeline, and answering every "what if" we threw his way. We also loved his design work in his portfolio of course. Shortly after we engaged Taylor, he was on site taking detailed measurements, photos, and even drone shots of our entire front and backyard. He flagged any potential sloping issues, suggested realistic solutions, and connected us to his trusted referral that could further help us. Any time we had follow up questions, he made himself available and responded quickly - no hard sell, just clear information. Although we weren't able to go forward with the full project due to unexpected yard and budget constraints, Taylor handled the change with total professionalism and never made us feel pressured. The insight we gained from his preliminary work was helpful and will be very useful for when we decide to continue with the project in the future. Another very happy customer of South Bay Design and Landscaping…read more We had South Bay out to do a full demolition of the existing "landscaping" from when we bought our house and the installation of an entirely new plan from our landscape designer (check out Dawn Engel- she's great!), which included a patio space, a pergola, driveway extensions, hogwire fence, raised planter beds, and a side gate added to our existing fence. These guys do not mess around. Demolition went insanely quickly, and our property was kept neat and tidy the entire time. We never once saw dirt tracked anywhere by the crew, which we can't say the same for any of the other contractors we've worked with (and we're actually quite happy with some of them!), and which becomes even more insane to think about when you consider the nature of landscaping work. Installation went as smoothly as South Bay possibly could have made it. Any time we ran into the occasional hiccup, as happens with all nontrivial projects, Matt, Danny, and Marcus offered thoughtful suggestions and made sure to confirm exactly what we wanted before proceeding. (We had either or both of Matt and Danny on-site most days of our project, and interacted with Marcus via email.) We were delayed a smidge by some heavy rain, but the crew worked through all but the worst of it (talking "if you step in that mud, you're going to lose a boot" type of rain). Partway through the install, we discovered that the previous landscapers had managed to make the L-shaped pathway leading from our driveway to our front door square with nothing- which wasn't easily noticed until we had the planter beds in and hogwire fence line chalked out. (South Bay had laid those out properly square to the driveway and house, as per our plan.) Matt, Danny, and crew were thankfully able to accommodate our request to fix our pathway up by picking up each segment and pushing the out-of-square part over by 4-6 inches; this added about a week of extra time to our project, mostly due to the fact that not all of the pavers could be reused, and that the pavers had actually been discontinued (!). The guys worked around this by sourcing very similar pavers in a different size, and basically cutting and grinding them to match our existing pavers. Post-install, the only way you'd know there are two different pavers in our pathway is if you'd seen it being taken apart and rebuilt. Plants, irrigation, and lighting all went in straightforwardly after the hardscaping work was finished, and Danny gave us a complete walkthrough of all our new outdoor systems. It's been about a week since our project was completed; the plants are all thriving, and we're still ecstatic about our new yards (and so are our neighbors!). In short: we had a fantastic experience working with South Bay Design and Landscaping for our landscaping project. They take pride in doing a quality job, and it shows in everything from demolition to day-to-day jobsite management to the finished project. If you're looking for landscapers, these are your guys. (Special thanks to Matt and Danny for graciously handling my incessant "are you sure you didn't forget about such-and-such little detail?" questions and never once forgetting about any of the details, and also to Sergio for spending basically an entire Saturday morning troubleshooting what ultimately turned out to be a manufacturing issue with our pergola.)

You never tell someone that's paying you $500 dollars to take your time and do a professional job to go inside. I should have told him to get the F off of my property and hired someone else. I would have been better off hiring men from Home Depot. Totally unprofessional, rushed the job, ruined a couple of plants and didn't give a shit how it looked, even after I showed the owner the damaged plants and all the broken branches only to find more as the branches dried out in the weeks to come. He tells me the plants are delicate, but yet they didn't treat them that way. I will never hire this unprofessional company again and recommend that you don't hire them either. They have plenty of help to do a good job, but refuse to do so. This was a total rip off job to the tune of $500. I'm so sorry I hired this clown to do this job, every time I look at what they did it makes me sick and pissed that I didn't throw them off my property and paid them nothing.
