We acquired an 8 week old puppy dog in January 2017. Not having much experience of a puppy dog we relied heavily on the advice of our Vet and pet store. By default we used Mutz Nutz on Beechfield Avenue, Dublin 12. Over the last 6 months we have spent approximately €600 on foods, harnesses, leads, grooming, treats, pet toys and balls, medicines which didn't work, collar for operation protection which again didn't work, the list goes on. When the impractical lead snapped, we mentioned it to one of the staff and he said that next time we visit the store, we should return the lead and a refund will be given. Since our last visit to the store 3 weeks ago, the harness also snapped and both items were presented to the store yesterday. Immediately, the young inexperienced owner went on the attack and a refund was denied. Each time we visited the store we noticed another new employee. When we enquired about the previous staff employees, we were informed that they had left! It appears from our prospective that there is a high turnover of staff. To finish, we have taken our business to Maxi Zoo where our custom is more valued. My dealings yesterday with the 'owner' reminded me of the WB Yeats line - 'and add the halfpence to the pence and fumble in the greasy till'. Once the money is in, there's no going back. Fear is a terrible way of running a business. read more
