Mutual Detail saved my car! I've totally neglected my vehicle for the last 3 years - maybe washing it only once (I know - horrible!). I park outside in an uncovered space, under a tree, and it gets pine needles, bird droppings, pine cones, sap, and has been growing moss (I know - gross!) in the rubber window seals. I have no excuses, really. Anyway - stumbled upon Mutual Detail when I was parking downtown in an underground garage for a show and got the business card. Months later, I finally booked a Complete Signature Detail and Mildew Removal, and so glad that I did. Mutual Detail was super responsive, asked great questions, requested my car overnight (totally fine cause I knew it would need a lot of work), and got to work. I picked up the next day, and it's like I have a brand new car - literally. It looks better than when I purchased used 3 years ago. And, amazingly, all the moss and mildew is completely gone. I work across the street and pass this place every day to park. When we moved and my car got increasingly messy, I thought of them. I got the full detail, which is priced right. They cleaned every single inch of my car. It looked perfect, smelled great. However, I noticed a chip of paint gone from under the driver side door. I alerted the cashier, she called over the detailer, and they quickly diagnosed. The car had never been power washed before, it was likely a paint bubble. They were apologetic immediately and quickly setup a time a week later and they would have the touch up paint to fix. That day was today. The fix looks perfect AND they washed my car again AND they touched up some rock chipped spots! I appreciated the entire experience and would 100% use them again. Not everything is perfect all the time, but it's how you react and treat your customers. They did everything right and I felt very well taken care of. I'll be back. read more

I gotta give these guys some love. I took my Honda Fit on a journey from Chicago to Seattle, during which time it accumulated tons of dog hair, snack crumbles, and just general grime and grossness. I got the interior detail and express wash combo, and was amazed when I picked up the car. No. Hair. Anywhere! Feels like a new car and I feel like a person who has their life together again. Add to that relatively reasonable pricing and friendly service, and I'll most certainly be back. Heads up - best to communicate via email/web form. I am in the process of selling my beloved car, and needed it detailed for sale. I bought one of the super coupons here on yelp ($150 credit for $100). Although I could have gone cheaper since I am selling it, I decided to go for the gusto and get the signature service. I was clear before I even bought the coupon that they would clean out all the spots on the exterior, and most of it was clean, however when I got home noticed they did not fully clean the hatchback trunk lid area near the hinges; a substantial amount of green build up was still present. Also, the shampooing of the seats was not done very well, as there are still spots present. At $250 and all day, I expected better. I am bummed, and expected more. Also, I would have expected an engine wash/rinse for that price - admittedly I knew this wasn't included, so no stars deducted for this oversight. Although I am sure the owner might offer to have me return, I'd rather have them do the job right the first time, as "signature" this wasn't. I have had details from other people in the past at half price and a better job when I told them this was for sale only, and not for me personally to enjoy. Sorry guys, but I will not be returning. I think they did a good job, but not a great job. This was the first car detailing I'd ever had done, and I'm just not sure it was worth it. Considering that the interior of the car was already in good shape (no stains on the seats/rugs), I would have expected them to spend more time really working on the little details to make the car look perfect (I did notice a rim of dirt around the inside of the cup holder after my car was done). That said, I do think they did a nice job. I just don't think it's worth the amount I paid. If your car is already in good shape, Pink Elephant will likely do nearly as good of a job for a fraction of the cost. read more

Ok - I finally got my car in today using the Amazon Locals deal I'd purchased for their Super Interior Detail. I honestly didn't really look over carefully what was included, but I figured whatever I was getting was going to make the car look better, so I was excited. However, I was in no way prepared for how much of a difference a detailing service would make to this vehicle! I have a 2005 Grand Prix GT, which gets ridden hard and put away wet most days. I have an 11 month old, run 2 businesses, and love road trips, so there wasn't an inch of this vehicle that wasn't muddy, crumb covered or sticky. I seriously think my car looked better after picking it up today than it did the day I bought it from the dealership 3 years ago. Even the exterior, which I didn't expect was included in my services, looked flawless. I will definitely be back, and would not hesitate to pay full price for their services in the future, which are really reasonable if you check out their website. I think keeping up with the mini details, which start as low as $20, is a great way to keep my car looking good all the time, rather than trashing it for 2 years and then having to get the works...though I'm sure that's what I'll end up doing, knowing me. :-O The good thing is that I know the folks at MD will take great care of me when that time comes. :) read more

My babe knows how much I loves my '97 black Tacoma. I'm the kind of fella who likes to wash and wax my truck myself because I simply don't trust anyone else doing it. For people who have black cars, you know what I mean. Regardless, she gave me a gift certificate to take in my truck in. I waited almost a year before finally taking her in. Looking back, I'm so glad I did! Every touch point was effortless: scheduling an appointment, dropping off the truck, and picking up the truck. An added benefit was that they validate parking in downtown Seattle. I had meetings running from 8 am - to 7:30 pm. I was able to drop off my truck, leave it safely downtown (free), and then pick up a shiny, black ride for a late dinner with my babe! It was a perfect experience. Getting your car detailed is a lot like getting your makeup done. They can work magic, but they can only do so much. I brought my 14 year old Toyota Corolla here. This car is not pretty and I knew that. I knew that it wouldn't roll out of here looking like it was from this decade and I was cool with that. I did, however, expect it to be clean. And clean it was. And it smelled good too! And not in a way that gave me a headache. It just smelled clean. All the crumbs of food in my center console are finally gone. I had also spilled balsamic vinegar (when I was moving to my new place) in my trunk and they completely got rid of the faint smell of it. You can get an appointment by emailing them which I really appreciate it because I can't keep making phone calls at work for appointments. You can drop off your keys in a secure box if you want to drop off your car before they open. If you work downtown, it's extra convenient because they validate parking! They worked on my car for only about half the day but validated for early bird full day parking. Overall, very happy with the service! read more

Working downtown, Mutual Detail was very convenient for me- parking is validated, and dropping off your car is easy. This is a small, two-person operation and the customer service is fantastic- scheduling was a breeze via their website, and I was able to get my car in the very next day. I have a 3 year old Outback, and I couldn't believe it was the same car- small scratches from parking on the street and in tight parking garages were now invisible, the paint and windows shone, the inside of the vehicle was immaculate, and all without that persistent, harsh chemical smell! I also had an issue with one of my seats- my cat had an accident while I was transporting him to the vet, and anyone who owns a cat knows how awful cat urine is- smells horrible, seeps in quickly and is very difficult to remedy! I thought I might have to replace the seat, but Mutual Detail went above and beyond to take care of it! I felt incredibly cared for, and the service was worth every penny. Would definitely go back again. This was my second time trying to get my car detailed through a deal promo, the first time was with another company who would never pick up the phone and required all appointments be done via phone, which they never answered. Needless to say, I never heard back and asked for a refund. (I suspect it was their first time running a promo and was overwhelmed by the response). In contract, Mutual Detail was a total breath of fresh air. They have online appointment, they send you detailed emails with instructions (and they write the instructions how I would, with landmarks! not just street names), and had the car ready when they said they would. I'm glad to have such a fantastic detailing place downtown near my office. They allow you to drop it off in the early am (or earlier if you want to use their drop box) and pick it up at the end of the work day. Driving to downtown on a weekday was not fun but the service I received made it totally worth it. I also found emailing for an appointment very convenient and they responded to my inquiry very quickly. I'm old enough that I'm willing to talk on the phone but young enough that I prefer email/text. :) Teresa, who answered my email, was very friendly/helpful in setting up my appointment. I was able to get an appointment in approximately 1 week but I'm sure that varies by how busy they are. When they were done, Teresa called me to let me know that I could pick up my car. It was done a bit earlier than expected which meant I could beat most of the rush hour traffic home. In terms of the quality of work, I had a Living Social deal and felt like I got a true bargain. My cleaning included exterior/interior. My car came out looking absolutely perfect and like new. Everything is spotless and shiny. I don't know what else to say here because EVERYTHING looked great. I would definitely be willing to pay full price for this service. In fact, I feel bad that I got such a great deal because Mutual Detail deserves full price. We have an 8 year old Subaru Impreza that hasn't been properly cleaned inside, ever, since we bought it new. It's a hard-working car that regularly goes camping, skiing, hiking and usually has a small dog running around in the back seat. It was quite, quite dirty. So when Amazon Local coupon for the interior detailing came through, I thought it was time. I was quite impressed with the scheduling process and communication. They had clear, concise directions, a working and updated website, and just generally were on it and responsive. I had to reschedule my appointment -- no problem, easily done over email. Dropping off, picking up the car, all easy and seamless. I like that. Oh, and they are very nice and friendly in person, on the phone and over email. And they did a fabulous job cleaning the car. Seriously, the interior was spotless, not a spec of dust or dog hair! And they probably had to use a shovel to start with. I gave a ride to two of my friends that evening, and they couldn't believe it was the same car! They went on at such great length about how different the car looked, it got quite embarrassing. It must have really looked like a dumpster before... Anyway, I am very happy with my experience, and might make it an annual thing, especially if there are other 50% off deals. This was my first time getting a car professionally cleaned, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I was quite pleased. And I'm generally easily annoyed. read more

This was not only my first "deal" with Living Social, but my first "time" with Mutual Detail and I could not have been happier with both. Mutual Detail is located in one of the choicest areas of the city, conveniently located to everything. It is housed in what I came to call the "catacombs," a subterranean parking garage beneath one of Seattle's downtown office buildings. There was something comforting about all that chrome assembled in one vast labyrinth. As you make your way down through the darkened curves, you can spot them right away through the glare of intense lights concentrated in one small working space dedicated to meticulously detailing one car at a time. My Jeep SUV has had its far share of wear and tear over the years so I was reasonably modest in my expectations. Particularly, the interior where the leather seats had dramatically changed color from a exquisite cream to what now resembled something of an earth tone. Naturally, there was a dog involved who is a constant passenger and has been for nearly ten years, so for $40 (the discount price through Social Living), one has to be reasonably realistic. We agreed on an approximately two-hour beautifying procedure. Had a known what was to come, I would have photographed before and afters. The best way to tell this is mention that when I returned to pick up my car, rather than taking the elevator down, I walked the concourse, just as I had driven it two hours earlier. On the floor above, I happened to look up and spot a car identical to my own. I remember thinking how magnificent this car looked as though someone had really cared for and cherished this vehicle for the whole of its life. Suddenly, I looked at the plates -- California in a Seattle garage. My plates -- having just moved here from San Francisco a few months ago. So unconvinced was I, I had to walk up to it and look into the interior to find some identifying remnant, which I did. Later, when Jason, the owner, took me up to the car and opened it and I saw the interior, it literally took my breath away. I likened the experience to a makeover. A dramatic transformation that leaves you wondering how the alchemy of science and skill can render such magic. Whatever the method, whatever the process, I can unequivocally report: I'm a believer. Took my dirty car to Mutual Detail and dropped it off for the day. Paid for the Express Exterior Wash. Got my car back and it looked good until I paid closer attention. When I got on the freeway, I noticed that they hadn't dried my side-view mirrors and they were covered in dried water spots. Ok..I'll give them a break. Got home and noticed there was a streak down the middle of the hood...Ok..no big deal. A day later I happened to look at the rims and noticed that they had been cleaned only on one side...as if they only wiped the top side where you can see the rims. As I looked closer, the car had water spots all over as if they didn't thoroughly dry it. I had let them know about the mirrors and they said they were going to note my account and give me a future discount. I don't think I'll go back. The reason I went here was because I didn't want to go to a tunnel car wash and have it miss a bunch of spots...which Mutual Detail did...for 3 times the cost. They were very nice and polite though. read more

Top notch. I just used Mutual Detail through a deal I bought on Amazon Local. I got the $75 Interior package because my Mini Cooper needed some love desperately. I have a dalmatian / border collie with white hair that had taken its toll on my black interior. I called up and made an appointment, which was a week out because they were booked up... figured this was a good sign. Their service was excellent. I did have to pay an extra 29.99 for taxes and the excess dog hair because it was a lot of work to take care of that (which was totally understandable.) Overall I am totally impressed and would not hesitate to use them again in the future. My car looks brand new and smells great... they also went above and beyond and gave the outside a wash including detailing my wheels which was not a part of the package!!! These guys did a great job detailing my mom's car. She lives in Idaho so needless to say the wear and tear both in and out of her car needed attention. I was pretty impressed with the amount of dirt and grime they removed from the cracks and creases of her carpet and seats. The paint looked nearly new when they were done. I bought the Living Social deal for my 1989 ruby colored Volvo Station Wagon, which I have bought not too long ago, in great shape. Well after the detailing from Mutual Detail, she looks like brand new and has become the pride of my life. The inside detailing was not perfect, but for sure a lot better than it was. The place is a bit hard to find, as it is in a parking garage. You can drop you car off for the day and pick up after work, big plus. The service is great, I recommend them to everyone. read more

This is a long-standing family owned business. Today, they detailed my 2007 Toyota 4-Runner and did an excellent job. Dropping it off at a downtown office building was easy enough as was the late afternoon pick-up. I'm giving them 2 stars because for the most part, my car looked great. Their customer service however and their ethics = 0 stars! I came in for the mini detail ($125.00). I expect for a $125.00 car wash, that my car is going to look really great - especially since it's not even 2 years old and I maintain it really well. When I arrived to pick it up at the end of the day, the girl that works there told me that she vacuumed AROUND the stuff in my trunk. She never really explained why she didn't take the items out, she just didn't. Strike 1. I checked the car out, it looked really good and then I noticed that the two front wheel fenders had bug and tar crap still on them. I asked them about that and the guy told me it's 20.00 extra because "it's really hard to get off." They could tell I was irritated so the girl told me that he would "do it for free NEXT TIME I CAME IN." She also then tried a very hard sell on their "annual package." Strike 2. Then he told me that I could pick up some tar and bug remover from an auto parts store. I left and a few days later did pick some up at Target. Just a cheap brand. I put it on both fenders, waited about five minutes, and it literally wiped right off with a sponge. Strike 3. They may do a decent job at washing cars, but their hours are very undependable, they try and hard sell you, and they basically have no work ethic. No thanks. Never again. read more

Don't take your car here--it will just give you a headache. I purchased an Amazon Local deal for half off a detail. And I can now see why they had to do an Amazon Local deal to get business. First of all, they would not communicate with me by phone, which is so much easier when you are trying to schedule an appointment and ask a bunch of questions. Then I had to schedule my appointment like a month in advance. The appointment confirmation was FULL of details, stipulations and rules that I had to follow in order to do business with them. Totally not customer friendly. At the last minute I decided to bring my husband's car to get detailed instead. I know this is my bad--I didn't call ahead of time to change the car. But he has a very small SUV, so I didn't think it would be a big deal. But apparently the voucher only covers sedans and small wagons, so I was going to have to pay more. I ended up not getting the detail and forfeiting the voucher. I also had to pay $6 for parking, because they are located in a parking garage and I was there for like 10 minutes. They opened late by the way. I would NOT recommend them. There are plenty of other details shops in Seattle that have better reviews and I'm sure have better customer service. read more
