Cannonball is my wild black Goldendoodle puppy and Duchess is my 11 year old girl who has been through a lot and doesn't trust easily. Watching her walk willingly into the salon with Sarah almost made me cry. If you knew this dog you'd completely understand what that moment meant. She even trusted Dave! Which is saying something bc Duchess isn't the biggest fan of men. This was only Cannon's second visit and Kassie got down on the floor to greet him. He climbed right into her lap. He looks absolutely incredible and we can't go anywhere without people stopping us. Cannon is my first dog that needs real grooming and I had so much to learn. Between Dave, Sarah Kassie and the whole team I've walked out knowing more every single time. Coats, brushing, shampoos, home care. They just give that knowledge freely. What Sarah and Dave have built here is genuinely something special. The entire team is trained in pet CPR and knows risks most groomers have never even heard of -- like heat stroke from blow dryers. No kennels, no crates, spotless shop, amazing atmosphere. They even have self wash stations for bath days or dogs that don't need a full groom. These are my kids. I don't trust them with just anyone. I trust them here.

The vet came back in and said to get him a tranquilizer and then gave my poor puppy a shot to calm him down. After a few minutes he finely started to calm down, and all they said is, "from now on your puppy needs a setitive before he gets his nails cut" I was furious! Then I was told to "pay at the front desk." I couldn't believe that I was charged over $300.00 dollars, because they had the nerve to charge me an outrageous amount for the shot they had to give him and in my opinion for using excessive force on him to cut his nails, and whatever else they did to him in the back. I will NEVER take any of my animals back to this Vet's office again.

I never go to a shelter for a certain animal, I go to see if there is a special connection and then adopt if I feel that. Love this shelter. It's not only the cleanest I have been to but has the most welcoming staff. I have been to many shelters and almost all have had unwelcoming staff who make you feel like you're inconveniencing them for being there. I have had so many negative experiences with other shelters it made me not want to adopt again. This shelter makes you feel welcome and they also are ready to give you all the information you need on the shelter animals. Not only that but they are happy for you to just love on the babies. It's so important that they feel love while waiting for their forever homes. My visit here left me feeling happier that there is a shelter out there that takes such good care of their animals and potential adopters .

Everything I have gone through Dr Thiessen has always known what to do. I have 3 dogs now and just don't know where I will turn to once Dr. T retires, but I am thankful he has been available to my pups for so long.

Connie Rocks we have had our dog Sammie groomed at The Mutt Hut for several years now, and I must say that we have had Sammie groomed at other places and they made her very nervous and never had the same cut each time, but it only took one time with Connie and Sammie has no problems being there. Connie has heart full of love for your pet and takes very good care your pet while they are there. Her place is not all shinny and fancy but looks are not always the most important thing, it's the quality of the work and the heart of the owner that is important here, I would recommend The Mutt Hut to anyone who wants quality work. Our chihuahua mix is a great little guy - until it's time to get his nails trimmed, when he turns into a savage fiend who will do ANYTHING not to get his nails trimmed. We have taken him to the vet and had a groomer come to our house, but with very modest results - it's hard to trim what won't hold still. We just happened to be driving by the Mutt Hut today and walked in for a trim. I didn't mind helping to hold him as he writhed and squealed because Connie was completely unflappable, wielded the trimmers with artful confidence, and gave him a great trim. That's a miracle in my book! read more

Being cheap is about all this place has going for it. They are dirt cheap. Boy the people there are so mean. I really think they hurt the poor animals that go there. I have no proof of that, just seems like the people that work there hate their lives. My little puppy came back dirty and poorly groomed, large patches of hair uncut. I don't think they know how to cut hair. read more

I take my precious Pickles to her and she does the best job! A professional. I am a retired certified groomer and I take my dogs to her because she does the same job I'd do if I physically could. The rudeness of Ford and Connie is overwhelming. We took two dogs here for a short time because they were inexpensive. The place is incredibly dirty and feels like a health hazard just walking in. I am happy to pay more to be treated with respect and to take my dogs to a clean environment. read more
