An added bonus/nice touch is that she doesn't feel the need to talk to her patients over the phone (only speaks to them through her admin!). Her bedside manner (...or lack thereof) is atrocious - very forceful and is only a one-way method of communication. My take away is that she's just another typical type-A, a-hole MD, do yourself a favor and avoid this condescending person. Btw, she loves to force meds on her patients - even though they might be not even in the range (only close) of where you would need the rx. You could safely assume a competent MD would would try reasonable methods (diet, exercise, etc) to address medical issues before demanding your patient take meds, but I guess if the MD knows all - there's no debating the subject! Oh - btw, another little chestnut, she hosts clinical trials - no wonder she's such a HUGE FAN of the prescription pad - go figure! On another occasion a MD who consulted with my 10 year old recommended a decongestant. Again was offered help for my pocketbook which was not only not requested but didn't work. Also physician's directions for medication didn't match Pharmacist's. Half a century on the planet & any other practice has student physicians they ask, "Would you mind being seen by Student Doctor X today?" and I always give consent. Would it be too much to ask UMass to do the same? At this rate UMass may be losing me as a patient.
