I have been to Newton-Wellesley a few times and have had a great experience every time. I was…read morerecently rushed to the ER here with appendicitis (yuck!), and the ER overnight staff did a great job caring for me. They gave me a diagnosis within 4 hours and next steps despite not having a radiologist to read my results present (they outsourced). You'll notice people in the reviews will say you might be placed in the hallway, which was the case for me, but you will see that in every hospital. The ER is always overbooked and understaffed everywhere. Over the course of the night the staff regularly checked in on me, ran all of the necessary tests, and prepped me adequately for emergency surgery the next morning. The staff was truly exceptional, the surgical teams are incredible here. My surgery went flawlessly and they also did a great job with post-op follow ups, calling me promptly and scheduling my 2-week post op check in ASAP. During my surgery, they kept my contacts in the loop throughout the process. I thank everyone who helped me here at Newton-Wellesley and highly recommend choosing this hospital.

This is a good location if you need labs done on a holiday or weekend. Other locations nearby in…read moreWaltham and Chestnut Hill are not open on major holidays, but Newton Wellesley is open and pretty easy to get to right off of 128. Or just a couple miles from the pike. Limited parking at the entrance for handicap and some charging spots. Usually those are taken so you have to go to the lower parking spot and walk up a ton of stairs. There's also the option to valet which is $12 or only $4 if you have a handicap placard. To get to the lab/imaging location, when entering turn right after the check-in station, then go straight to the end of the hall and then left. You'll see a wooden desk on your right to check in. There's a small waiting room there, but also a larger room across the hall. They're not a lot of phlebotomy stalls, but they move pretty quickly. Staff are friendly and efficient. This is a good option for getting labs vs driving into Boston.

This place is fine for very minor and easy to diagnose ailments. The nature of a "MinuteClinic"…read morelimits the scope of what they can handle. For more extensive treatment I'd seek out a more reliable urgent care with Doctors on staff. I've been here unfortunately more times than I'd like to admit for infections and various discomforts because I didn't want to deal with the high fees of the Urgent Care and the ER. They also offer Flu Shots and other services you can check on the website. In order to avoid being held captive while waiting you can reserve a spot online and check in when you arrive. This will save you some time. However, the process is never as expedient as the name implies. I've registered online, showed up in the exact time slot and still had to wait an additional 30 minutes for the NP to finish up with the previous patient(s). For my infection it was convenient that I could get the prescription right on site (with more waiting of course), however they kept insisting on prescribing me Bactrim as the only option. I'm not sure if it was due to the limitation of pharmacy stock but I had adverse reactions and fared better when I switched over to the Doxycycline for the next round of infection. (I'm a troubled case.) The NP on staff I've interacted with have all been professional. However, I had a persistent infection on my face that did not clear up with just the oral antibiotic so I actually spent additional money seeking alternative treatment at the Needham Urgent Care ironically located right next to the other CVS. They suggested the combo with Doxy and a topical steroid ointment. This is a fine option, but if you have a trickier case I'd definitely recommend going to Urgent Care over the MinuteClinic.

Unable to make an appointment the day before for swimmer's ear, as the website offered no openings,…read moreI was a "walk-in" the next day. My predicted wait time was 55 minutes. At an hour-and-a-half, I was told that ALL scheduled appointments would go before me, and since even people with appointments were waiting more than 45 minutes, there would always be scheduled appointments showing up to bump me back. When I asked for a new projected wait time, I was told at least another 2 hours. I went to a Mass General Urgent Care and was seen in short order. It was more professional, less crowded, faster and took my insurance so there was no charge.
