I'm newly retired and have just started on a Medicare Advantage Plan. Unfortunately, CRMA only takes Tufts Medicare Preferred advantage plan. That's the only one. That stinks. It makes me wonder if they really want to service Medicare patients. I had researched the Medicare Advantage options, and for me the Tufts plan didn't cut it. I am an established patient with several specialists in the Mass General Brigham network. All of them took the Mass General Brigham Medicare Advantage plan. It was only my PCP who did not. Several of my specialists did not take Tufts Medicare Preferred. I was faced with having to find a new PCP and keep all of my specialists, or to keep my PCP and a couple of my specialists. Changing doctors is a royal pain, and getting a first appointment seems to typically take a year. My medical situation is that would not work for me. I had selected my PCP at CRMA, because they are part of the Mass General Brigham network. If they were not, I wouldn't have gone there. One frustration with CRMA was with lab work. Patients at CRMA HAVE to use their office. I once tried to use a Mass General Brigham lab. They cannot see the lab orders from a CRMA doctor. I am guessing that CRMA is trying to keep revenues from lab testing. Just a guess.

They have many residents that are training through UMass that accompany doctors in appointments and take appointments. I've seen residents twice when I needed an appointment at short notice and they were great. I've never had a problem here, Dr. Carlson made me feel very comfortable when coming in the first time. The office is in a great location, and everyone is very nice and helpful. I definitely recommend.
