After we wait a bit, a guy comes to the front, doesn't say anything. My partner told him it was our first time and asked what he recommended. *Guy points to menu* "these are our popular items" Um okay, that's just your entire menu...Then we asked how it works (how we order our items since there's add-ons and whatnot) Guy basically reads the title of each section "cobblers, cheesecake, etc."---okay great. I decide to order a oreo cheesecake and I ask what's it includes. He responds with "exactly what it sounds like, cheesecake" At that point I didn't even want to get anything here anymore. Junbi Matcha is a tasty matcha franchise with friendly, helpful service and delicious matcha based…read moredrinks. If you are a fan of quality matcha, Junbi needs to be on your list. This review is for the Richardson location. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Junbi is bright and inviting. The sun yellow walls will feature collabs (currently featuring Peanuts), and there's plenty of comfortable seating in the narrow shop. It's hard not to smile or be transported into a good mood when you enter. 1 Star. Service - The staff is very nice and super helpful. If you already know what you want, you can order directly from the kiosk. I asked the staff for help, and they were very patient and helped make many recommendations. Once you place your order, your drink will be crafted, and then your name called when it's ready. 1 Star. Food - I ordered the Hojicha Cold Foam Latte. The first thing I noticed was how smooth it was. The second thing I noticed was it had a caffeine kick.... almost like drinking coffee. It's lighter than a coffee latte and not as grassy as green tea. It tastes familiar, comforting, and very refreshing for an iced drink. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. I'm not a big matcha fan, but Junbi is different. The matcha is super high quality, and I've only begun to explore the menu. I'll definitely be back. 1 Star.

My favorite item is their cold brew matcha and their cold foams are incredible. I'm a sucker for their strawberry puree. Their coffee drinks are so flavorful too - they taste like good quality coffee. Surprisingly - they have the best matcha soft serve I've ever had. I crave their matcha soft serve all the time. It's so creamy and packs the perfect matcha flavor. It's better than some of the ice cream places around here in regard to texture. I love this place. And love how you can customize so much. It's also adorable inside. My only note is that some of the cushions are very ripped and damaged and don't look inviting to sit on.

My review is for the pastries at the Mockingbird location…read moreBought 3 of their handmade pastries, averaging about $8-10 per pastry, we tried the mango, the coffee caramel, and the green coconut. 4.5/5 Mango was my favorite! The filling tasted fresh although I wished they added some mango chunks and didn't use that much thickener so the mango filling has a more natural flow and texture. 4/5 The green coconut was 2nd. It's pandan flavor and I always appreciate the more natural green color. Its not too sweet and appeals perfectly to an Asian parent like mine 2.5/5 Coffee caramel was our least favorite. It was too sweet and lacked the depth and caramelized sugar taste. I tasted mostly coffee and there was no texture to prevent it from being so one note aside from the chocolate shell. Personally think this one needs more R&D. I should've tried the other coffee ones. Was expecting a gooey caramel filling and a richer, darker coffee :( I love these kinds of desserts and am very picky but I will be back to try more! They change their offerings seasonally so I can't wait.
