If you own a Ford Mustang and need performance upgrades or repairs, there's no better place than Mustang Magic. LJ and his team are knowledgeable, honest, and extremely fair--qualities that are hard to come by. LJ, in particular, is straightforward and always takes the time to make sure everything is done right. It's also just a great environment--whether you're getting work done or just stopping by to talk shop and horsepower with the crew. Highly recommended for any Mustang owner looking for quality work and trustworthy service. read more

Joe - the new owner is proper and professional. I had an outstanding problem with the previous owner around the time Joe bought this shop. To rectify the situation and start off on the right foot, Joe offered a solution and made it happen promptly. Parts I ordered were delivered the next day. Won't take my business elsewhere. read more

Highly Competent. Ethical. Integrity. Responsive. Personal Service. These are some of the words that come to mind in my interactions with Joe and his team. My 2006 Mustang had an issue that 2 local dealers and a highly rated independent mechanic could not resolve, so I decided to make the long drive to Mustang Magic. It was well worth the trip. Not only did they completely resolve my primary issue, they addressed the rest of the "punch down list" I gave them. I made it clear I was also open to hearing their suggestions any other work they thought I should be doing, yet Joe was honest and informed me everything else appeared to be in great shape and nothing was in immediate need of being replaced. (Others would have recommended work that wasn't required). Joe and his team kept me fully informed via email/phone before, during & even after I picked it up to ensure everything was to my satisfaction. I will bring my car to nobody else going forward. read more

Mustang Magic & American Speed - A sea of Mustangs - Auto Repair Near Me - Deer Park, New York

Not trustworthy, zero quality control, incompetent mechanics. If you contact any performance shop on the island that works on mustangs they'll tell you that they are constantly getting cars that Mustang Magic have screwed up. read more

Joe the owner at Mustang Magic offered to buy my Mustang. After we both agreed on a price and the price was written on my receipt after repairs that stated he will buy my Mustang at said agreed amount. Upon arriving at Mustang magic i was met by one of his employee and not (Joe) I was offered a way low price and not the price we both agreed upon by his employee. Joe didn't even have the DECENCY to talk to me about him Changing the price at the last minute. that's not right from a so called honest business man. I spent money on getting the car to Mustang Magic from far away and didn't want to spend money on taking the Mustang back so I felt I had to let the Mustang go at the less amount and not the amount we both agreed upon and I had the price in writing on a my receipt. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED AND LET DOWN IN JOE AT MUSTANG NOT SO MAGICAL. read more

Mustang magic charges fairly reasonable prices, especially for their dyno time and subsequent tunes. Their technicians are old school and straight to the point. They'll get your car right. My 94 mustang gt runs miles better now after trying 4 mechanics previously. Thanks to Mustang Magic. read more

My 02 Saleen was a complete mess when I brought it in. Without question they are the best place to take your Mustang. They repeatedly have gone above and beyond the call of duty for me. They not only do incredible work but they are incredible people. My car is my freedom and they have made sure I have both. I won't ever go anywhere else. read more

I went here last year and it was hands down the most sloppy, lazy, inexperienced shop in the NY/ Long Island area. Mustang Magic makes claim that they are "experienced" and "reliable" but they are far from either.  The mechanics consistently are lax about work, sloppy and inexperienced unless it's the 3 brands they push, if you've gone you know them. They are constantly guilty of sloppy and lazy tuning using either. The staff is rude and arrogant. They consistently talk poorly about customers who call on the phone or less experienced customers that leave the shop in front of their other customers, whether loyal or new. It's extremely unprofessional and immature. The shop lives solely on the reputation it used to have prior to the sale to the new owner in 2015 who simply does not care about quality the same way the older owner did.  When it comes to the new 15-17 and especially 18-20, S550 Mustangs do not let them touch the car. They 100% have no idea what they are doing when it comes to properly tuning the engine and are super sloppy with mechanics on the new S550 coyote gen 2 and specifically gen 3 motors. Lastly find another shop in Long Island if you "need" to stay local.  Do yourself a favor stay far away from Mustang Magic. Just ask anyone who isn't their friend or other shops in the area who truly have had an experience with Mustang Magic or their staff. There's never a good thing to be said and it usually ends with the person going to a better shop to fix their mistake whether it be bad mechanical work or  tuning. They really are an all around bad shop to leave your mustang with.  They are untrustworthy, lazy, employ people with lack of knowledge on newer mustangs and do not truly care about their work. It's just about getting as many mustangs in and out as fast as possible daily and less about quality. If I could give them 0 stars I would. 1 star is way too high of a review for such an unworthy shop. anyone whose actually reading these reviews Know that this one is legit.  i Actually was a customer and not a friend whose posting to boost reviews scores. Stay away!!!  Trust me. BTW what I have noticed is when anyone says something "unfavorable" about this shop they claim to have no record. We'll, Unfortunately my experience is one to forget and I wish I never experienced it. read more

Took my new to me 1996 Mystic Cobra in for a few items on a Saturday. Joe is friendly and as busy as he is, will patiently explain things to you, and liaison with the mechanics to get your ride sorted out right. Would definitely use them again. read more

If you value your mustang, this is the place for you! Very friendly, honest*, professional, accommodating, and knowledgeable. They will patiently address any concerns you might have. Every time I go to Mustang Magic Joe and his team always take very good care of me, I appreciate it a lot! They treat they're customers as if they were friends for years. Besides the fact of seeing all the sweet rides, its a place I could find myself just hanging out. I would recommend them to anyone. read more

I gave them a Cobra, and I got back a monster! Top quality workmanship. They improved everything they touched. The dyno tune is so so good. My car had perfect road manners on the 65 mile drive home, and it still gets downright gnarly when I mash the throttle. Would definitely recommend them if your Terminator needs some TLC. read more

As a new owner of a Mustang, there are many things you can do to this car. I needed some direction and was guided, as per my needs, what would work best for me. Even though Joe was busy, he took the time with me and my multitude of questions. Customer service is very important to me and they seem to have the right stuff over there. I highly recommend this repair shop, especially if you have a Mustang. read more

Brought my 03 cobra in for an oil change and fluid fill and was told I needed a new oil pan after 30,000 miles and I needed head gaskets changed. And they wanted a shit load of money to do this. The next day I went to the Ford dealership and they told me my head gaskets we're perfectly fine and my oil pan was also perfectly fine. They changed the oil and filter for 80 meanwhile mustang magic was charging me thousands for all this work that didn't need to be done. the manager joe was very rude and was making fun of some of the jobs I had done on my car by myself that I put hard work into and thought was good. Wouldn't recommend it would recommend a gas station on the side of the rode over this place read more

Drove my car in to have a k-member adjusted and an alignment. They said need a couple of things like a header gasket etc no problem I said do it. They had my car from Wednesday to Saturday after I get there Saturday they tell me there is a problem with injectors. First time in my life I drove to a repair shop and had to be towed home. Was ready to do 40,000 in business with this company when my car was all said and done instead keep the extra 60 dollars you got me for the wires. Maybe just too busy for their one good. Ps the customers can heR when your talking in the garage but I'm glad at least someone came out and told me what was going on with my car 1 hour after I was there. Oh I never write reviews either but when your stuck on the side of the road what can you do! read more

I never write negative reviews unless things are totally out of control...this is one of those times. This is hard to write, as I have been a loyal customer of Mustang Magic for the past 7 years; the old owner Joe was a little rough around the edges, but he was honest and I never had a problem with anything he installed, or,experienced customer service challenges like I recently experienced with his son LJ. My most recent experience was horrible. I purchased a Magnaflow Exhaust system on September 06, 2017. I was told that it had a dent in it AFTER they installed it, so I left with a brand new dented exhaust system. Fast forward to the following week, when I was told to come in once again, so I did. After leaving my car there for the day I got a call from LJ stating that the wrong exhaust system arrived, so I had to pick up my car once again, keeping a $1,300.00+ dented exhaust system on my car. Prior to leaving Mustang Magic the 2nd time, LJ said that it was the vendor's fault. When was the last time you purchased ANYTHING (a part, a service, item, or other) from a store or other business and accepted the fact that it was their supplier's fault?? If I sell you something that's broken, incorrect, or give you headaches because of my suppliers, you are surely not going to go to my supplier to complain; you will simply stop coming to me because it was I who performed poorly for you. Fast forward again to October 5th (3 weeks later)...I had to reach out to them since they now neglected me (FOR 3 ADDITIONAL WEEKS) when a simple phone call to give me an update may have calmed me. Guess what...the exhaust system STILL has not arrived (according to LJ). Oh, I should mention that they did not charge me for a license plate frame installation, which I was told was due to the inconvenience. However, I had to leave work twice, costing both the company and myself money, as well as ask someone for a ride twice while my car was there. I will not be going back. And now they want me to do this a 3rd time?? I honestly feel like I got stiffed, and the cake topper was having to wait 3 additional weeks to hear from them, and I was the one that had to pick up the phone to call Mustang Magic!! Putting the correct part on my car is no longer satisfaction. I feel compelled to deny the CC charge, get my old exhaust system put back in, and let my Mustang friends know of the situation when my blog is published at the end of October. In closing, I am done with Mustang Magic. I never had such a customer service challenge before the ownership change recently, and I hope no one else has to experience such sub-par customer service either. read more

This was my first experience with this shop. I have owned Mustangs for years and had work done at many other places over the years. I found Joe to be very accommodating and easy to deal with. His staff was very friendly and seemed knowledgable. I was overall very happy with the work done and my experience at Mustang Magic. It was a long ride out to the shop but they were able to get everything done within the day so I could bring the car back home. Nice experience overall, I would return. read more

Brought my '15 GT in to upgrade the exhaust.. Joe made a perfect recommendation which turned out to be exactly what I was looking for and had the car back to me same day.. The cost was exactly what it would have cost me to buy the parts online so it was as if I got the service for free.. Car sounds great! I couldn't be happier and would (and will) go back 1000 times! read more

I understand how hard it is to make a buck now-a-days because Im an active duty veteran. I called the owner Joe and asked him to email me a custom tune performed by his shop. The owner Joe, wants to charge $100 to send a simple email with a Tune attachment because he has to make a mechanic stop working to send an email. Damn, I really cant believe that was the response I got. So, while Im out fighting for Joe's freedom, my vehicle that HE custom tuned, will be sitting in a garage un-drivable because Joe needs to make a buck. Avoid this place at all costs! read more

I have 04 mustang gt which needed a new rear gears because the old mechanic messed them up when he put a pinion seal he did not shim the rear end and it started to make whining noise. So I take my car to mustang magic to get the rear gear installed so while I am getting the car fixed i was told I need new bearing seals and the new rear gears. So I agree to all of the recommendation by joe because I thought he knew what he was talking about. So the total bill came up to 784.55 cents. I tell him to use 75w140 and he says due to the climate of NY i recommend 75W90 to which i agree. So i get the rear end done i pay i test drive the car with the guy who did the rear gear and i tell him there is a noise coming from the rear end and than he tell Tj or Tl i dont remember the exact name to sit and drive with me and he does and I tell him the same to which they said its new gear give it a day if it still whines come back and i send them an email the next day to fix the car. And i go after a week an half due to my busy schedule and once there rather replacing the rear gear which is the right way to fix the whine all the do is shime it and send me on my way I knew joe was bullshitting me when he said its all good. His right hand man tj or tl told him the rear end is already f up and we need to replace it they thought i didn't hear it but i did. After i complained about the noise to them again he said i would be more than happy to put a new set of gears for you but if the noise is still there i would charge 599 for the rear end job plus the extra labor I spent trying to figure out why the noise is coming. After this nonsense he tells me its possible that you rear end housing might be damage as well that is why you hearing this noise which is utter bullshit because I got it checked again nothing wrong with the housing just poor workmanship with the gears .I went there to get the rear end noise fixed and get a proper diagnosis not only did they overcharge me they also do not know how to work on cars. So I urge you to not take you car to unprofessional shop aka mustang tragic who do not know how to work on cars. If any one does not believe me attach is the bank charge and the email i sent joe also if anyone needs video proof of the whine email me at kabhie_kabhie143@hotmail.com I would be more than happy to send you the shitty work they did on my car read more

Great experience at mustang magic. I have a 2011 Camaro 2SS/RS and yes I did take it to a mustang shop lol. I did some basic bolt ons and needed a tune, so a few friends had brought it to the shop and had great results. From day one of contacting them they have been nothing but professional. A few days after I had it tuned I was having a bizarre issue with my transmission going into neutral. The owner Joe had me come down and went for a ride with me to see what the issue could be. Long story short the main power cable from the alternator was touching the header and melting. When I installed the headers I didn't realize there wasn't enough clearance... Rookie move but Joe was nice enough to take the car in and fix the issue. It was something the shop didn't cause but was more then willing to help me out and resolve the issue. A big thank you to the shop and the tuner Jose for doing a great job with the tune and helping with this crazy issue. Thanks Joe for the time today. Really appreciate the above and beyond service. read more
