This place is a nice spot to stay at and enjoy some nice camping, place is clean and staff are very helpful. But just remember that you need to be prepared with all the necessities... There is four types of stays: the first two are a cottage or a cabin the only difference is that a cottage has a full mini restroom and shower and kitchen with fridge and microwave and a cabin is just a cabin. Make sure you take your own bedding and blankets etc. if you stay in a cabin there is restrooms throughout the camp site that are equipped with shower. The restrooms and showers ain't bad at all they are well kept and clean often, if you go go with your partner and while one showers the other can wait just outside and vice versa. The other two stays are for RV's and tent sites. In the middle of the whole camp ground there is a shaded gazebo with tables and pits for you to BBQ. Be advised that every cabin and cottage have there own BBQ grill and picnic table also, they even have a fire pit which you can buy logs at the office but your better of taking your own fire logs to burn. There are only two cottages in the whole camp site and the rest are cabins. There is a pizza place called Hunt Bros. located inside the office along with a small store for the basic necessities. There is also a pool so you can soak up some sun. All in all it is a nice place to go relax...

The staff is super friendly and helpful. Everyone that worked there made us feel like family. The cabins we're very clean with no cobwebs, spiders or bugs (which was a surprise considering it is outdoors) . The bathrooms were cleaned every day about mid morning. We have camped plenty of times and I always felt like I had to keep an eye out for creepy crawlies while I potty or shower, but not here. An all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast served on Saturday for a $1.50, including sausage and drink. You just can't beat that. They also have a store up in the front office, that carries everything you could possibly need for a camping trip. The only negative thing I can even possibly think of and it's almost not worth mentioning. I suggest you wear water shoes or flip-flops when you take a shower, because the grate on the floor is kind of painful on the bottom of your feet. We will definitely return to this campground, our stay was just short of perfect.

Very nice RV park close to Lake Corpus Christi. Pretty nice gravel spaces with electric and water. Trees all around, quiet.

What's inside the cabins? Is there a microwave and fridge?

There are two cottages you can rent...this two have a fridge, microwave, restroom, etc...the other cabins have just an ac and a full bed and bunk beds...

I know they have recently been bought out. A few changes, no longer garage pickup or clean towels. That's not such a big deal but no coffee maker in the cabin and in all the years in the past: the security-cleaning deposit was given back into your account. Was informed today( after I had to call) that that was now included in your stay. That should have been made clear up front upon booking. We make it a diligent habit of thoroughly cleaning our cabin before we leave. Between no coffee maker and the other little perks, we were short changed in our stay this year. I have always taken your business cards and also word of mouth to promote this resort but I now have to think twice. Just not the same as before.

Heads up this is from a view of an overnight camper-…read more Me and my husband were looking for a place to camp near Houston for Christmas Eve night. We looked around Houston and everything was booked or rained out! So we found Goose Island and it had decent reviews! We decided to book a campsite for one night- our campsite was 201. When we arrived my goodness!! I've never seen so many deer - one minute outside of the park, there were about 5 deers hanging out- not scared of me or my car or the noises. It was beautiful! When we entered the park, we first was looking for our campsite and drove in many circles- it was in the "wooded area" so it was a bit hard to find! When we arrived it was around 3pm And we started setting up camp. I am thankful the parking was right in front of the campsite but also that whole area I think 201-204 Is shared. I was lucky it was Christmas so no one else Booked the area next to us but it wouldn't have been as fun if others did! We stayed overnight- everything went well as planned! One thing I didn't like the restrooms were driving distance or a longer walk away but this was an amazing weekend getaway for us! In the morning we checked out the pier area. It was nice and very different than our campsite area! Highly recommend this park even for a daytime park!

It's an antonishingly old live oak tree with a massive trunk and spreading branches. During our visit, the land under and around the tree was a carpet of wildflowers. Goose Island State Park is smaller than some state parks we have visited but it's full of amenities. There are lots of camping spots for tents and RVs. There are short hiking trails that showcase the local flora . . . but be sure to bring your bug spray if you come during the warmer months. The pier that stretches into Aransas Bay has spectacular views, and the wetlands welcome many types of birds.

We enjoyed all their trails, park store, and exploring the grounds outside the mission. The park is very dog friendly; however, the rodeo was taking place when we visited and the fireworks were so loud, they upset our dog. We ended up not staying the second night because we heard the firework show would be even more intense. I would suggest including that information on the park website. Other than that, we sincerely enjoyed our time at the park.

They offered several others and we chose #1. The manager in the office gave us a $25 refund for our trouble which was very nice. All campsites in the Karankawa loop are full service sites with 50 and 30 amp electric hookups and all are pull through. We visited at the end of a hot dry summer so brown grass and trees without many leaves left. Typical of most state parks there was a picnic table, fire ring and lantern hook; there was an open fire burn ban due to the conditions. Watch out for pet's feet as well as yours if you walk barefoot as those prickly weed spores are in the grass! The septic system looks pretty new and was so close to my drop point I only used one sewer line completely compacted. Water pressure seemed good, around 60ps Park roads are good, the only drawback is the park is bisected by a state highway so you do hear road noise but it is less at night when traffic is light. Restrooms are older but in great condition, men's room in the camping loop had 2 toilets, 2 urinals and 2 showers which is fine as there aren't a ton of campsites. Camp hosts were friendly. The old mission is the big historical attraction here. It is free but only open from 8:30 to 4:30. The park has trails that are pretty easy and well maintained, there is an area where you can put canoes or kayaks into the San Antonio river. There is small bird blind with several feeders in front that the staff kept filled with fresh bird food while we were there. Try to see the green jay if you can, fairly rare this far north! Goliad is nearby and has plenty to offer. The old county courthouse is beautifully restored.
