Have sold a number of instruments, amps and accessories over the years. Never any drama. Fair price when you understand that you are not going to get the same price as you would if you sold your stuff on your own. It's usually quick, easy and the staff have always been cool. read more

What a gem in this area. The store is so cool with lots of beautiful guitars, electric and acoustic. They have new and used things. We went for a Copa and fell in love with the store. They have congos, drums, Ukuleles and all kinds of instruments and accessories. Fender speakers for all likes and needs. Beautiful straps and bags. Awesome. read more

I'm a many times repeat customer. Friendly people! Excellent service! Fun finds in guitars, rigs and accessories! Generally speaking, if you want it, they probably have it. Great luthiers on site, too. Thrilled they are in Elk Grove. read more

Thanks Jacob for doing a wonderful job restringing my guitar. The sound is absolutely beautiful!

I had a fantastic experience here! The staff was incredibly friendly and made me feel welcome from the moment I walked in. A special shoutout to Dom, the guitar tech--he was awesome! Dom was not only helpful but also really knowledgeable, making sure my guitar was in perfect condition. Highly recommend this place for anyone who needs expert service and great customer care! Also shoutout to Ty for being a helpful sales representative read more

I walk in with some guitars and an amp for sale. I came to check out a guitar listed on their web site. First thing they want to see my drivers license and get my phone number before they can give me their offers. The amp is an older hard-wired tubular thing and I mention it was serviced by Skip Simmons. They didn't know who he is. The offers on the equipment were about 50% or less of the retail value, from comps on reverb. The experience was as of a pawn shop with a business model of 100% markup but with no shot at redemption, for people desperate for cash or inattentive of value. read more

I wanted to buy a new guitar head, I looked at the online stock and decided there were a few things I wanted to try out. When I got to the store it wasn't that busy, but one employee was busy chatting at the desk and then leaning on various walls, staring down at his social media. I asked for some assistance, but he said he was busy and pushed a younger employee my way who seemed to be drowning in the 2 costumers that were already in the store. Long story short I asked to try a few heads out, the younger guy said he'd be right with me, I waited approximately 38 minutes before walking out of the store. I ended up buying a new jmc800 from guitar center instead. read more

Hello if you know me on yelp it's either 1 or 5 stars But here, poor management or store policy, unlike the stellar customer service of the Stockton Ca store this EG store has no concept of what customer service is I mean you buy USED equipment pennies to the dollar I've sold tons of stuff AND BOUGHT tons of stuff from the Stockton store but Noooo The Elk Grove store just cannot discount without any excaaptions on used musical equipment? Really? I do all the time in Stockton "well we don't do it here" but you bought it used? "Doesn't matter" REALLY? that's the policy? S&$it"$y store policy if you ask me, "well that's our policy have a nice day" oh I will have a nice day and.,,,,I WILL TELL ALL MY MUSICAL FRIENDS ABOUT MUSIC GO ROUND OF ELK GROVE TO NOT SUPPORT THEM and I have a lot of musical friends read more

They will rip you off in anyway they can. Nothing is a fair price, they have rude repair people that don't do their job correctly, they are condescending to people that are just starting out on gutiar or bass or any instrument. They low ball offer on all used gear, but have no problem charging top dollar for gear that they didnt even fix up or clean. This is ever music go round by the way. No one should go to this shit store. read more

They used to be really good would give you good deals but now every time I go they're rude Brought in a guitar they offered me 400$ went to guitar center and was offered 800$ The blond guy with the glasses tye or something Is very rude read more

Don't bother with these guys, because they won't bother with you. Drove 25 miles to their place based on a trade-in quote, got told a completely different number when I arrive, not because my item wasn't as pictured, but because the guy who quoted me used "old pricing". Then they ran a Memorial Day sale that ended while they were closed (for Memorial Day). So I couldn't take advantage of the sale, because they were closed when I wanted to buy the item. I inquired if they could honor the sale price for one more day for that one item, and was told no, theres nothing they can do. Go somewhere that cares about you, like Skip's Music in Sacramento. Because Music Go Round certainly *doesn't* care about you. read more

First visit, they have a large selection of used gear. I enjoyed looking through the selection. Staff was very polite and personable as well. read more

Dom and his partner working with him in repairs are always super nice, honest, and try to complete work quickly. We appreciate it!

I'm new to the guitar scene and i found this place locally and referred by no other than Kline music, as soon as i entered i was impressed with the variety of new and used items, upon asking for help jessie did so with expert acknowledge and most of all respect, I'm going back knowing i will get the best product and service i can ge over and over again to get the equipment i need, thank you jessie and i don't the have other two names of the gentelemen who assisted me. thank you music go round, what a catchy name. read more

I went to the Elk Grove location and was treated awesomely!! They bought my guitar, because I was going into find a smaller body rather then a dreadnought. They answered all my questions and treated me like VIP! They have an awesome selection of guitars. I was trying to choose between two acoustic guitars of orangewood (which is a rad company based in LA) and one guy brought me a stool over so I could sit and play each guitar to hear the difference and another guy brought two guitar stands to hold the guitars. They let me take my time and I spent about 2 hours in there. The repair guy was awesome and friendly too. All in all I WILL be returning to buy things like strings and anything else I need. I rather support a small business vs Amazon. Thank you again Music Go Round for my awesome guitar at an amazing price! I love it! read more

I found some speakers online that I really wanted I was told they don't like to ship them due to the weight after speaking to the Manager Izzie he told me that he would ship them to me the speakers are awesome and they did a great job of packing them so happy read more

The manager was quite rude to customers when I came in, I was picking up a guitar and chatting with the technicians while a customer had a question about instruments, and I'm being 100% honest, he was hella rude to this family that just wanted to try stuff out and cold heartedly let them know what the cable is for or whatever the conversation was about. I can't say what other interaction they had but still, I can understand the concept of customer service and that was probably the WORST example. It doesn't help that outside of this building I've seen the fellow I mentioned at the gym and he just awkwardly will sit in the lobby and just watch me workout, like a straight hour eyes glued for an hour. And when I'd get up to approach him just walks away. Like alright dude. here's your review. read more

I had no idea this place existed, since our go-to music shops are usually Skip's or Guitar Center. Music Go Round is a bit hidden in the strip mall between Hobby Lobby & Burlington Coat Factory. They buy & sell here so it's a great place to come and make some extra cash on stuff you don't need anymore! They had a lot of inventory when we came to surprisingly. Items are even posted online too. You can even earn a little extra if you sell your item for store credit instead. We were able to get a decent amount on a beginner's acoustic guitar I bought about 10 years ago. We will definitely keep this spot in mind for the next time we need to sell, or look for used inventory! read more

Had a great experience at Music Go Round today buying a new Guitar. I went in twice to pick out the one I wanted and Paul and Team were great both times. They were patient with my questions and didn't pressure at all. I look forward to returning soon to buy a second. read more

Can't believe I missed this place for so long. Good guys, great service great luthier. No lessons, no new guitars, but if you're a collector or a beginner, you're still in the correct spot. Highly recommended. read more

Amazing service. I had a brand-new Banjolele with awful intonation and was just plain difficult to play. Patrick at Music Go Round took a look and quickly diagnosed both issues as excess action with the strings on the fretboard. He took it "into the shop" regrooved the nut, restrung and brought it up to spec. The difference is night and day. The Uke sounds great (well, as good as it can with my level of skill) and is now truly a joy to play. Totally and completely recommended! read more

Store is full of good stuff, new and some tasty used equipment. Pedal selection is great. Service was helpful but low key, tried a few out purchased the TC Dark Matter, actually rebought. Love this pedal, mib RnR machine. read more

I had a very good experience selling some old music gear to this store. From my first interaction on the phone to actually having them look over the gear and make me a reasonable offer, it was a low stress experience and I thoroughly enjoyed looking over the huge inventory of both used and new equipment in the store. read more

Great place to get your musical gears serviced. Patrick is amazing!! He walks you through the process and does such an awesome job! Very clear that he is passionate and professional at his craft. read more

Don't sell here. They'll scam you out if your music equipment. Tried selling a guitar to them and they gave me an absurdly low offer that was practically a joke. I get they have to make their money but they don't have to rip off their customers. read more

Came in today to get rid of some speakers. I spoke to a guy named Ben over the phone and he was polite and very knowledgeable. Once I came in to the store which was pretty cool btw, I met the owner Paul. Paul went out of his way to test out the product and gave me a reasonable quote which I took. If you're in the market for a guitar, amps, or anything music related come here they got you covered. Thanks again for making everything so easy. Great guys, great shop and most important great customer service. read more

Awesome work for guitars. I had a vintage Lotus in bad shape and had Patrick replace the tuners, pickups, wiring, pots and do a new setup for the guitar. Came out amazing like a new Les Paul sound on a budget. Patrick was fantastic in walking me through the process since I wanted to learn more about guitar repair and setups. On a side note- the store itself is a music lover's paradise. Probably the best selection of used gear anyplace with reasonable prices. I think that I never want to pay full retail on new gear ever again after realizing how much I can save on used quality stuff. Staff is helpful and friendly. I had spoke to other techs who are clueless on how to fix guitars and charge more. read more

Music Go Round - My vintage Lotus as good as new thanks to the awesome guitar master Patrick! - Guitar Stores Near Me - Elk Grove, California

This is a beautiful full service musical instrument and equipment store. Dozens of guitars of each type, priced fairly and in excellent condition. A wider selection of guitars, amplifiers, percussion sets, and stringed instruments than you will find at many other music stores. People there are knowledgeable, friendly, and enthusiastic without being pushy. I sold them several guitars and got a fair price with no haggling, and full transparency on the pricing of instruments. Worth the drive from Sactown. Definitely check it out when looking for your next guitar. read more

Yay store that focuses on used gear! I'm a fan of starving musician in the Bay Area; this place looks poised to be similar. This place would be awesome for someone just starting guitar or bass or drums, as you could get something decent for much less than a place that focuses on new gear. They have plenty of starter instruments that are in much better shape than what was available to me when I first started with music. They have some nicer pieces of equipment, but I have a feeling this place will age well, once more people learn about it. Some of the staff has some work to do to get a bit more experience under their belt, but I'm sure that will come with time. read more

Very pleased with the guitar I purchased here, and I was impressed with the overall experience. I ordered online and they offered a discount on the shipping since the store was temporarily closed due to COVID.
