Joe is really awesome, and so is his dad, Bob. Joe has been working on guitars for 29 years now, and really enjoys fixing and building them. Their work is fantastic; cannot praise highly enough. They are also both really nice guys, and easy to work with. Customer service is a top priority. Joe will usually respond to a text within 10 minutes. My longest wait was 24 hrs., because the shop was closed at the time. Joe even dropped the guitars off at my house when they were done, despite living an hour and a half from me. Joe takes his time when he does work for you. He will test everything that he has done thoroughly before he gets the guitar back to you. As a result, it may take a month before you get the guitar back. The finished product is honestly worth the wait. His work might seem a little on the expensive side, but after price checking with other repair shops, it is actually comparable to what is being charged for each specific type of work. It was well worth every penny! I have a Parker Fly Deluxe that I tried to have fixed elsewhere. It came back with the same problems it had when I brought it in. Joe's dad, Bob, put in a new capacitor and a new neck pickup. The guitar came back sounding exactly as it did when I first got it. Joe recently did work on my Baton Rouge tricone, and my Kiesel slimline acoustic. I had him mod-out the tricone with a new pickup and saddle. Turns out the frets all needed to be leveled, as well. Guitar came back really nice; much easier to play on now. Action is low enough to play regular guitar on, but high enough to slide on without fretting out. Really happy! The Kiesel needed a new saddle. He made a really nice one out of bone for it. Joe leveled the frets on this guitar, too. Guitar came back same as above: can play both regular and slide without fretting out. If you want your guitars done right the first time around, don't hesitate to see Joe and Bob. Picky doesn't even begin to describe how I am about my gear.. IE: Let my 58 Reissue Les Paul sit in the case because didn't trust anyone with her.. Then I meet Joe.. I won't even consider taking any of my gear anywhere else.. Top Shelf Work Excellent customer care (will gladly talk to you about what and how the work needed is to be done) Fantastic prices.. And for the kicker.. My Les Paul's bridge Pup had gone harmonic on me.. ZERO gain tolerance Joe pulled, disassembled and potted my BurstBucker and it plays better than new.. Joe did an amazing job fixing up my Fender Telecaster. He replaced the pickups and the electronics/control plate, shielded the cavity with copper paint and he grounded the pickups so there is no single-coil hum. He also flipped the control plate for me. All for a very reasonable and affordable price. He even came by my place and picked up the guitar and dropped it off for me after he was finished. I called and left Joe a message after business hours one evening and he returned my call the next morning. I had just purchased what I was told was a MIM Fender Strat and before I had work done to it, I wanted to have a pro take a look at it so we can verify it's authenticity. Joe was very proffesional and friendly over the phone in answering all of my questions, and just so in person as well. He took his time in looking over the guitar, listened to all of my concerns, and was very honest in his feedback. I verified through Joe and through Fender that I'd bought a bogus guitar, and instead of misleading me to make a profit, Joe told me the truth and saved me a lot of frustration and money! I needed to have some work done on my Les Paul and was referred to Joe by a guitar shop in Pleasant Hill. He said "take it over to Joe, he'll fix this thing up like a pro." That was an understatement. I had Joe install some new pickups (which sound amazing, by the way) and he did an absolute amazing job. His work is very clean. I've seen other guitar techs do sloppy work... Not Joe. He even took the time to set the guitar up properly (something I alluded to but never actually asked him to do. Joe's been awesome! Great guy, knowledgeable, great quality of work. Very happy with him as my luthier/ guitar tech. I'd definitely recommend him to anyone. 10/24/16 Joe continues to do great work! Had him work on my Gretsch Tennessee Rose and he did a great job with a bridge replacement and setup 12/23/15 Joe replaced the tuning machines on my Maestro mandolin (it's a solid wood learner Mandolin made by Gibson partners in China). It had terrible tuning machines! Worst ever - seriously. I asked Joe to replace them with some Grovers and he managed to make them work :) He also performed a tuneup-setup on it as well. Great job! Joe is awesome. He is an honest and stand up dude, who knows what the heck he's doing, period. I met him back when he was in Martinez and he worked on a couple of guitars and and an amp. Did a great job, at a fair rate. Since then, I always try and make sure Joe works on my guitars... It's too bad that he's the only guitar repair shop I can find around here. He makes up prices on the spot, is hard to get ahold of and is pretty expensive for the work required and my biggest issue: I have taken 4 guitars to him and afterwards each one broke down right where he "fixed" them. His wiring and soldering jobs are sloppy and don't last. I had him adjust a neck on a guitar for me and it came back worse. (fret buzz, fretting out and unequal action across the strings). I am very disappointed and have resorted to doing the work myself. It can't be any worse than his. read more

Meet Joe Webb...believe me, you won't regret it! A few years ago, Julian from Guitar Center in Concord referred me to Joe and after that, I've never taken my guitars to anywhere else.
