Shoutout to Brian for singlehandedly turning a "run in, grab a cord, leave" errand into a genuinely…read moregreat experience. My husband and I called ahead to check if they had a very specific cord. Or chord. Or cable. Honestly... we didn't even know what it was called or what it looked like. Brian picked up the phone, listened patiently while we tried to describe this mystery cord using absolutely zero correct terminology, and somehow immediately knew exactly what we were talking about. Wizard behavior! Not only did he figure it out, but he also set it aside so it was ready for us when we walked in. From there, he kept the same great energy: super kind, patient, helpful, and with a really fun sense of humor. No rushing, no eye rolling, no "how do you not know this" vibes. Just good energy and someone who clearly enjoys helping people. We went in expecting a quick, boring stop and left in a noticeably better mood. It's wild how much a genuinely good interaction can do. So this one's for Brian! Thanks for making our very small purchase feel like a very pleasant experience!

The store is small and humble, but the inventory is abundant! "There's a guitar in every case", says Marty. Prices are very good, especially for South Beach. A wide range of brands too. Many stores like SBME are going away due to box stores like Sam Ash and Guitar Center taking over, but luckily a few shops like this are still around. Here is something that would never happen in a large chain music store: I picked up a bass and started thumping, my friend said he played drums so Marty told him to get on the kit which was set up in the room. Next thing we know, Marty is grabbing a guitar and setting up a mic and we started jamming! It was so awesome, I loved it. We played 3 songs together. So fun! Note: He keeps night owl hours. 9pm-3am.
