I visited during the Plymouth Ice Festival and simply had to try a hot chocolate from Alpine…read moreChocolat Haus when I saw that they had dark hot chocolate. Some of the best hot chocolates I've ever had are from chocolate shops (makes sense) so I had high hopes. The price was quite reasonable I think for a premium hot chocolate, $4.99 for a dark hot chocolate with Mayan spice (cinnamon, cayenne, etc.) added. There was an option to add whipped cream and marshmallows but I opted out. The cocoa was excellent - delightfully chocolatey and definitely spicy - it definitely had a kick. I would order again in a heartbeat - maybe it's a good thing for my body that I don't live that close to Plymouth. They also have a nice array of chocolates, very similar to classic chocolate shops. I bought a couple of dark chocolate covered cherries and dark chocolate honeycomb chips for my mother and she loved them and she can normally be very picky about these type of chocolates. She said they were very fresh and the cherry flavor of the chocolate covered cherries was excellent. These were probably her favorite chocolates she's had in the last ten years or so. Alpine Chocolate Haus was definitely a winner and we'll be back whenever we're in Plymouth.

Oh my goodness!!! What an absolute gem. I had the most glorious hot chocolate (Mayan with dark…read morechocolate). This had to be the best hot chocolate I had in my life! I found this place by chance as I was killing some time in downtown Plymouth..sort of a memory lane tour. The stock of treats is vast!!! Chocolates, candy caramel apples, ice cream and yes, hot chocolate. My goodness! The inside decor is to die for. The staff were so nice! I think I met an owner (male). He said the company has been around for 40 years in Michigan and about 14 years in Plymouth. The vibe is so nice and I can't recommend this place more. Everyone was kind. All I felt was love! Come here!!' It's well worth your time!

Eastern Market of Canton is truly a local gem. Every time I stop in, I'm reminded why small,…read morecommunity-driven businesses matter so much. The store is always clean, well-stocked, and has a great selection, but what really sets it apart is the people behind it. Marvin, the owner, is one of the most genuine and hardworking people you'll meet. He clearly takes pride in his store and in serving the Canton community. You can tell he cares about the customers and the neighborhood, and that kind of leadership shows throughout the entire place. His sons and the rest of the staff are just as friendly and helpful. Everyone greets you with a smile and makes you feel welcome the moment you walk in. It's the kind of place where you're treated like a neighbor rather than just another customer. Marvin also does a lot for the community, which makes supporting this business feel even better. It's great to see a local owner giving back and building something positive for Canton. If you're in the area and haven't stopped by Eastern Market of Canton yet, you're missing out. Great store, great people, and a great example of what a community business should be.

They brought the brisket up to the front counter for me to purchase. I am used to picking out my own meat and specifically looking at the sell by date so I just didn't think of it with this process. When I got home I noticed the sell by date was the very day I purchased this large roast. No one even mentioned this fact Or explained anything In regards to the sell by date. I am not planning on cooking the roast for several days Which will be this coming weekend. i did call and they assured me that the brisket would be fine for the weekend, but the point is that I would never have bought it if I knew or saw the sale by date. Perhaps if the butcher would have explained it initially, I would have been more comfortable. It was a very bad first experience and I will never go back.

This is the first place I saw white strawberries (several years ago) and on my most recent visit I found fresh soursop in a bottle! I am so excited to try it as I love soursop, and it's kind of a pain to eat and prepare. My favorite quality of this store is its local focus. I popped in here for a couple of bags of groceries for a weekend getaway. I wanted high quality, unique items, and Westborn delivered. On top of that, most of them were locally produced, even better. They have local staples like Sander's chocolates, but lots of lesser known ones, too. The daily prepared meals continue to shine (bourbon glazed chicken thighs, mac and cheese, roasted vegetables). They also have vegetable and fruit trays, freshly cut. Though I skipped them this time, you continue to find a lot of in-house and brought in sweets and treats, a sizable wine and beer selection (basement), and a good amount of staples (that will be pricey). They also have lovely fresh flowers and plants for gifting or to light up your own life.

Bakery case was like a sugar smorgasbord of treats. Really nice patio space. Fresh sushi was delicious. Cons: Prices on the basics (milk, eggs, etc) were definitely higher than at a chain grocery store. Staff seemed kind of surly - no engagement, no offers to help, no smiles, etc. Coffee bar appeared to be closed on a Sunday.
