Was very unhappy with the service provided, was not given a refund or credit note even though I had a receipt.

There is loads of floor space in this boots. She simply told me there were no offers. Shortly afterwards, another Boots employee informed me that I actually had offers available in the Boots app, but they needed to be activated before payment. Unfortunately, because I had not been given this information at the counter, I missed out on a very good offer. I returned to the counter and explained that she could have informed me that offers may need to be activated in the app. Instead of acknowledging the issue or apologising, she responded by asking how she was supposed to know that I had not activated my offers. This was particularly frustrating because the reason I had asked whether there were any offers on my Boots card in the first place was because I was looking for guidance. A senior staff member then became involved, but rather than acknowledging the poor customer experience, I felt the response was mainly focused on defending the staff member. I would expect customer-facing staff to have reasonable knowledge of the Boots Advantage Card and app, or at least guide customers correctly when they specifically ask about available offers. A simple explanation at the beginning would have avoided the entire situation.

To me Boots is certainly an intriguing pharmacy, as I always seem to leave with more than I…read moreintended to buy, combined with the overwhelming feeling that I saved a bundle in doing so. Being a chain store, the stock in most Boots shops is roughly the same and they carry quality high street style cosmetics brands, plus the Boots own brand is decent quality. This branch is not designed in the most user friendly layout: tight aisles + full shelves + throngs of shopping bag laden customers = items (literally) flying off the shelves. But they have all the usual items if you can brave a bit of argy bargy in the aisles (which adds to the purchasing thrill for hardened shopaholics I am sure). At Christmas Boots really comes into it's own with innovative gifts and offers. Many's a quality Christmas gift has been exchanged between friends and family as a direct consequence of the Boots 3 for 2 offers. The advantage cards are good value and you can rack up the points quickly if you stay Boots loyal. And lets not forget Boots function as an actual prescription filling chemist shop. I have found the wait isn't too long in this branch and the staff are always helpful, despite being very busy. Just remember that you're on Grafton Street so avoid the place at peak times - it tends to be manic.

The aisles were narrower than I expected and with the mass of humanity here, there was a lot of bump and go. Yet, throughout this chaos, one particular Boots employee stood out with his good humor and practical assistance.
